Chapter 7: Shadows
Raphael: It was getting late and the cool night air was giving me goose bumps. I finally found an alley where there weren't too many cockroaches. I began to search for pieces of newspapers and cardboard to cover myself so people wouldn't find out there was mutant turtle in their city.
I thought about my comfy room and how I'd usually be teasing Leo for his admiration of the stupid Space Heroes show right now or how I'd probably be performing the "How to Annoy Your Dorky Geek Brother in a Lab Full of Glass" show.
Everything in my body still ached from my lack of rest, I had been running and hiding all day from Leo and Donnie, but at the moment I didn't even know where I would run to. If I went with April, there was no doubt that she would tell Master splinter where I was. I felt bad for making Leo and Donnie chase me all throughout the city but, I needed my space more than ever before.
I tried to get comfortable in the stupid juicy political gossip columns and pizza boxes, but it still felt like I was a UPS package with dried bits of tomato sauce no matter which way I turned or moved. Finally, my eyelids were growing heavy when I heard something in the shadows, I passed it as me being paranoid but, I heard it again from the building roof this time. My eyes snapped open and I got into a defensive stance.
"Show yourself!" I shouted pulling out my twin sai. I heard someone cackle behind me. Before I could turn around, it kicked me behind the knee making me lose my balance but, I quickly got up. "Who the hell are you, and what the fuck do you want?"
"Oh I'm sorry…" said a masked bulky ninja stepping out from the shadows. "…but, my master ordered a turtle sandwich, extra raw, have you happened to see it?" he mocked, cackling. I growled and narrowed my eyes at him.
A few dozen ninjas from the Foot Elite stepped from the shadows. Easy peazy lemon squeezy, I had beaten up 20 of these guys in less than 2 minutes before. I began to back up when I realized a whole swarm of them were behind me too. My brain's worry alarms went off when I realized I was completely surrounded.
"What the hell do you want from me?" I asked trying to compose myself.
"Well, what's your guess Ralph?"
"It's R-A-P-H-A-E-L, Raphael!" I responded aggravated.
"Aw, is the little turtle mad?" he asked smirking. That did it. I threw myself at him, throwing a series of punches at his ugly face. I then got pinned down by about twenty ninjas. Then the loudmouth stepped forward with an electric stick. Oh shit. My eyes widened in horror.
"Let. Me. GO!" I yelled trying to wrestle free. Then I felt a sharp slicing burning current flow through my veins for what felt like hours. I yelled and screamed but, it was useless. Tears fell from my eyes, I felt like I was going to die right there.
"Ha-ha, hey boss do it again! He sure knows how to dance!" one of the men commented followed by a series of laughter.
"You want to dance?! Well, I'll teach you my favorite move, the "Rip Your Throat Out"!" I yelled.
"I would kill him here if I could, but Shredder wants him alive" the leader responded. "It's a real pity that I can't; I would be doing this world a favor from such a hideous thing." I glared at him.
They carried me to back of a van and strapped me down to a metal table. I swear, if I wasn't as weak as I was, I probably would have stuck one of my sai into that guys face. They injected me with a liquid that made me feel sick, dizzy, and tired. I struggled to stay awake when, I gave up.
