Chapter 8: The Instinct of the Sensei
Master Splinter: I went to check on my other three sons. Leonardo was watching the show of Space Heroes; he didn't seem as enthusiastic and inspired as he usually was. Michelangelo was still locked in his room since Raphael had left. It seemed that my only son that was at least a bit alive was Donatello, who was busily scurrying around his lab.
"Donatello, what are you doing my son?" I asked entering the lab.
"Oh hey sensei, I'm creating a DNA Sensing Detector. All I have to do is pick up some sort of Raphael's DNA from his room, install it into the 4th cartridge on the left of the pipe, and voila! The machine will start searching for him." He explained enthusiastically.
He pulled the trigger to power it on but, all it did was toast the carpet before it shut off and smoke started to pour out of it. "ARGH, I WAS SO CLOSE!" he shouted furiously. I exited the lab before he set the place up in flames with his dissapointement. That's when Donatello's invention gave me an idea.
I scurried to my room and locked the doors. I had remembered an important skill of the art of meditating that allowed you to enter into the thoughts and feelings on the person you were concentrating on. In this case, I would use this method to help find Raphael someway.
I lit some candles and took relaxing deep breaths before I began the procedure. I thought about Raphael and I tried to omit all the possible distractions that would destroy my connection. Fifteen minutes passed by. Sixteen, seventeen, when I finally picked up on something from him. I heard him scream in agony and pain.
No, I thought. What is wrong Raphael? That's when I felt a strong, piercing, blood boiling current of electricity flow through his veins and body. He yelled in pain. No, stop hurting my son! I screamed aloud. Raphael was getting terribly hurt.
"Sensei, snap out of it!" I heard Michelangelo yell at me when, I opened my eyes.
"Sensei, are you okay?" asked a worried Leonardo.
"Yeah, we heard you yell." Donatello added.
"I am fine my sons, thank you, but I am afraid your brother is not." They looked at me with confused blank faces.
"I have just meditated in such a way, that helped me feel and listen to what is wrong with your brother and I am afraid to say it is much worse than I had thought."
"How bad sensei?' asked Leonardo. I looked at each of them in a serious manner.
"I believe your brother has fallen in the hands of an enemy, and from what I was able to pick up, he was indeed being hurt. Trust my instinct my sons."
