Chapter 12: Scarred
Raphael: "No, no this isn't real!" I opened my eyes as hard as it was. The burning sensation flooded into my eyes. "You're just using this whole psychic power to make me crazy so you can just test me, am I right?!"I pointed my finger accusingly at him, tears in my pained eyes, my legs shook, and drops of cold sweat formed on my neck.
"Really? Even now you doubt me Raphael?" he sighed as if he was disappointed with his own son. He started to reach his hand out to me.
"Get away from me you filthy bastard! I don't know who the hell you are or what you think you have with me but I don't care!" I raged breathed heavily; steam almost coming out of my nostrils.
He looked at me, hurt. Or pretending to be hurt.
"Fine Raphael." He said sighing in defeat. He looked up at me with a determined look. "Proceed." He said to somebody behind me, but before I could turn around to see who it was I was out on the floor, cold.
Donatello: "Let me make sure this is sensei's head we're looking at in the screen." I suggested, almost unbelieving of what we saw before us. Then all of a sudden, before I could check the systems, Mikey firmly grabbed my hand.
"Oh that's sensei's memory all right." He said coldly giving me a shuddering death stare. I froze looking into his eyes. The blue in his eyes no longer looked like the morning sky, but into glacier cold.
I yanked my hand off his grip and went to my desk trying to process all that we have seen. I glanced at Leo. He looked engrossed in every single thing that was occurring on the screen. Finally he spoke.
"HOW COULD SENSEI HAVE DONE THIS TO US?! TO RAPHAEL?!"
"Leo whatever really happened those years ago, I'm sure he has a reasonable explanation for it." I said comfortingly reaching my arm out to him trying to comfort him in an embrace.
"DON'T TOUCH ME!" he shouted at me a crazed look in his blue eyes. Then he made a face of confusion and worry. "I-I'm s-sorry…" he stammered tears welling up in his eyes backing up from me. He covered his mouth as he began to sob. "I'm so sorry!" he said running out of the lab crying. I froze.
I never could've thought I would see Leo, the fearless leader, cry like that for anyone or anything. I looked up at Mikey. All of what had happened these past few days consumed me as I made my way towards him threateningly fast.
"What is your deal?!" I whispered harshly at him.
"Whatever do you mean Donnie?" he asked genuinely confused. That's it.
"You act like some mental creepy psychopath! All that's been happening has been quite enough for us as a family and your mind intruding crap has only been the cherry on top!" I yelled at him, angry. I pressed my finger into his plastron accusingly after everything I listed. "I've had enough of this stupid act of yours!"
"Do. Not. Touch. Me. Donatello." He said firmly and his cold seriousness filled the atmosphere again. "And second of all, who ever said this was some act?" My face went blank. "And do not come telling me all this family issue crap is my doing!" When did he even start using proper English vocabulary? "Also, don't start talking to me like as if all I've said was fake. All you guys have ever said to me were lies, to supposedly "comfort" me."
How the fuck did he know that? When did Mikey become into this sinister cold being? If anything he has always been the one to try to lighten the mood up.
"And that's the thing Donatello, I'm sick of your stupid lies. That's why I haven't been anything but honest with you two."
I stared into his eyes. Those cold ice eyes. That's when I realized he was cornering me into the corner of my lab. "Mikey please stop." I said trying to jump over my desk as he pressed on me staring into my eyes.
"Oh so now you guys want me to stop? Even after you guys have ignored my pleas to stop millions of times before?!"
Even though I was the tallest and he was the shortest, he felt much taller now.
"Please. Stop." I said on the verge of tears. I felt like a fountain of guilt. He had known, he had always known.
He put an arm on the wall and cornered me with the other side of his shell. He looked up at me smiling. Not a crazed evil smile, but it still gave me the shivers. He bent over to my ear.
"I've always loved your chocolate brown eyes." He breathed in my ear, then as simple as that he turned around and walked out of my lab.
Then I did something I haven't done in front of anyone in nine years. I broke down and cried.
