Wendy's POV
It had been a couple months since we got here. Everything was starting to feel normal, I had become accustomed to the basics of this world, what was taboo and what was considered normal. I couldn't believe this, but I almost preferred this new world to the old one. I was treated different here, no one treated me like I was weak because I'm young, no one expected more or less of me. I hated it though, the way I had adapted, the way I barely missed Lucy, Gray and Carla. The others were still heartbroken, but me… I was fine. I didn't really talk with Erza, Natsu, and Happy. They brought back unwanted memorys. Most of the time it was me, Eren, Asuna, Kirito, and Armin.
I got up early, as usual, and quietly tiptoed over to Asuna, and blew a small gust of wind at her face. Then I got ready, pulling on my 3dmd and finishing the last buckle on the straps. By the time I was done, everyone else in thhe girls cabin was up and getting ready. Few people slept til Shardis came storming in. We lined up by the door, and marched to the training grounds. I watched Jean lead the guys out of their cabin, giving a soft wave towards them. I got quite a few waves back, my new friends, and several dark looks. One in particular should've bothered me.
Natsu. I could barely stand him anymore, he had changed an unbearable amount. Nowdays, everyone called him insane, he was reffered to as obsessive and a 'pyromaniac'. He had develloped an odd obsession with titans, and no one doubted he was number one in the training squad. The only ones that talked to him were Happy, Erza, Mikasa, and occasionally Eren. I heard a couple instructors murmering about how they couldn't deal with another Hange.
Shardis came storming into the field, holding a small piece of paper. He looked a little odd, less stoic than normal, more concerned.
"Wendy Marvel, Natsu Dragneel, Erza Scarlet, Happy Dragneel, the Scout Regiment discovered a note in a titans corpse adressed to you." He looked at us, and a pool of dread pooled in my stomach. Oh no… I would be treated differently again. I hesitantly took a step forward, then another, feeling like I had to see it and yet like I should stay, plastered to the ground where I originally stood.
"Can I read it?" I said, more confident than I felt when I got to Shardis. He handed it to me. It read:
Lucy, the celestial world does not link to the dimension you are currently in. Our apologies, we hope this doesn't affect you too much. Remember I love you -Loke
Then, on the other side:
Oh Mavis… Gray, Erza, Happy, Natsu, Wendy, Carla… We in the Celestial realm have begun to build a portal connecting your world to ours and the one you are currently in. It shoul be done in less than ten of the years in the world you are in, it will not subtract any time from your other world. We are so sorry, see you soon.
It was stained with tears and ink blotches, barely legible.
"We don't know who Gray Charla or Lucy are, but we figured we would just give the note to you four." I broke down then. I couldn't believe I allowed myself to forget my vow… I would never let any more of my friends perish in this land, new or old. I turned around, it was finally time to do this.
Armin's POV
I watched as Wendy dragged herself forwards. She was shaking, her eyes wide and her skin pale. The other three people mentioned in the note had similar reactions. Suddenly, the blue haired girl turned around and cleared her throat.
"People of this world, I have something important to announce." She looked different now, her eyes held a determination and confidence that seemed different than usual, thought those emotions seemed always to inhabit her eyes, they seemed softer now, yet more intense in a way. "I will speak only for myself, but I know there are five others here who might like to join me." As she spoke this, her eyes swept over the crowd of neatly lines soldiors-in-training. Just as she said, five people walked forwards, the pyro, Erza, Happy, Asuna, and Kirito.
"We, are the only ones affected by my previous statement. We are not people of this world, we come from two others. My world, my home, is inhabited by magic, by glory, by hope, dragons, and demons, by fairys and by mages." She floated into the air, her hair whipping about her face wildly, her jacket floating up. Natsu grinned creepily, his trademark, lighting his body on fire. Erza flashed and changed into an armor top with a blue skirt, her chin length hair falling from its side ponytail gracefully, a sword appearing in her hand. Kirito and Asuna seemed to pull at the air, touching invisible buttons until they had swords in their hands, Kirito with a black cloak. I felt my feet moving forward of their own accord.
"There were three others of us, three of us gone, devoured by the beasts you call titans, in the first hours of our time here. I want to eliminate them. Every titan must fall, and I know many of you feel the same. We will continue to train as usual, act as usual, but this note, it made me decide to finally tell you all. If I want your help, you deserve our honesty." I finally got up to them, and I reached forwards. I don't know why, but I knew I had to say something then.
"I'll work with you." I saw Wendy's eyes go wide, Erza nodded approvingly, Natsu's grin seemed less creepy somehow, Happy said 'Aye', Kirito smiled, and Asuna patted my head.
"So, who else is brave enough to join us?" Natsu roared, a shine to his eyes I had never seen gleaming, he seemed more like a puppy then the rabid wolf I had associated with him.
"I will, I would've eliminated the titans anyway." Eren said stepping forwards. Kirito smiled in an oddly fatherish way that didn't seem to match his age, with Asuna mirroring him with a loving motherish look. It was pretty obvious they were together, they'd never said anything but everyone knew, and not in a weird way, just the way you acknoledge married people. Natsu high fived him, keeping his much-less-creeoy grin plastered to his now-friendly face.
"If Erens joining you then I will, too." Mikasa said, but I thought it had more to do with the fact she and Erza had been nearly unseperable since the wagon ride. She immediatly walked to stand between Eren and Erza, and made a very small motion most people wouldn't notice. She tapped Erza's hand with her own, their fingers loosly entwining. Before I could mention anything, Shardis interupted me.
"Now that thats over with, BACK TO WORK!" Shardis demanded, ushering us off to our usual training schedule.
Erza's POV
Training went as usual. It was far to easy, so I always did a lot extra after everyone else went to sleep. However, when I got to the girls cabin, I kept hearing whispers. People used to whisper about me a lot, as I am one of the oldest of the trainees, not to mention my apearance does not match that of anyone else here. It stopped after the first couple weeks though. Now it seemed three times what it had been. The only thing that bothered me about it was that their was another name accomaning mine in the whispers. Mikasa.
Honeslty, peoples opinions didn't bother me. They could say whatever they wanted, I was confident that as long as I knew the truth, and my closest friends knew the truth, then I had no reason to care. However, when people said things about my friends, especially the one I consider my BEST friend, they were in for it. So, I walked up to one girl who was whispering something to her friend, and grabbed the back of her jacket, lifting her into the air.
"Speak louder." I said, giving her a deathglare, "I can't hear you properly."
"Y-yes ma'am! Uh, I was just saying how cute you and Mikasa are!" I intensified my glare, allowing the odd dark aura to envelope me and my target.
"Cute? Repeat the exact thing you said." I really didn't care if people were matchmaking. I waved Mikasa over. "I heard someone say something about us."
"We-well, I said 'did you see Mikasa and Erza hold hands after the little girls speech? I think they're in a relationship, how cute!' And th-thats all I swear!" The brunette stammered out, I released her and she hid behind her red-headed friend.
"Don't get involved in other peoples business." I said, turning around. Inside, however, I was hugging myself. People thought we were CUTE together. Ah, ever since Jellal rejected me, saying he didn't go for girls, I myself had questioned my sexuality. In the end, I realised I had never even liked guys, Jellal was more my best friend than anything. Me and Mikasa weren't actually anything, but I did kind of really like her like that, and I definetly considered her my closest friend in this world. I decided it was time for sleep, tomorow would be another day of training after all. Just a couple more years left of this...
