Back to school, but at least i have a lot of free time that i can't spend playing video games, so there's nothing else to do but write.
The cold night gave way to a morning dawned with rosy fingers, Hiro woke in his bed, a dull pain radiating from his wound. he reached for the bottle of pills next to his bed, throwing his head back he downed them without problem. He stood and looked out the glowing orange window. as the grogginess of sleep faded, he realized what lay ahead of him for the day. Graduation. It was a long time coming and even if it wasn't all that difficult. He was going to get his diploma and when he did he was going to place it on the wall right above Tadashi's bed, because afterall without him none of this would have happened. Hiro would never have gone to the school, would have never met his friends, would never have made the micro bots, wouldn't have lost his only brother…
He let out a sigh, not the first time he has had that thought and after awhile, it was more nagging than a painful thought. Turning toward the bathroom stopping when he spotted the blue cap and gown hanging up on a chair next to the stairs, a smile crept across his face. He crossed the room to the bathroom and went to work on his daily routine.
He emerged wearing plain white tee shirt and a pair of jeans, his normally unruly hair still stuck to the top of his head from the shower. The now showered boy descended the stairs, he was met with the smell of cooking eggs and ham, and the sound of humming. Cass Hamada was making scrambled eggs and ham for breakfast, a soft tune on her lips. As his feet hit the landing she turned and stopped humming. "Hiro you're up, i didn't expect you to be awake for a while. How are you feeling?"
"Good, i took my pain meds. Are you making eggs and ham?" He raised an eyebrow, it wasn't often that Aunt Cass cooked breakfast for him, it was even rarer when Tadashi was alive, but when she did it was for something special.
"I had to made something, it's not everyday that may little man Graduates from college! Did Honey Lemon tell you what time it was, because the last one was at eight and i don't remember if they changed the time."
"I'll text her and ask, but no she didn't. I don't see why they would change the time, it's their building." Hiro pulled up a seat at the table and pulled out his phone. He quickly shot a text to Honey. Hey what time is graduation at?
"Ya it's probably at eight." Hiros phone went off, Honey had responded Y r u up this early?! It's at 8. but really it's dawn!
He cracked a grin and with a quick, Thanks Honey, he confirmed that his Aunt was right. Before he could put his phone away it went off again, meet me at the square. It was from Gogo.
He shot back a text as Cass set the table, Sure right after breakfast. Aunt Cass made eggs and ham.
As the two began to dig in, his phone went off again. Fine but hurry! He sent back a simple will do. After their breakfast, which was amazing by Hiros standers and he had no problem saying that to his Aunt, Hiro asked if he could go meet Gogo at her house. She nodded in response and said, "Don't be later than five coming home though, i want to make sure we're ready." He gave his Aunt a quick nod and was out the door and on his way to the square.
Krei lifted his groggy head and looked at a hard nights work. A chip that's transmitter didn't use normal air waves, and a mask that cokced to his head. Krei may not have been a great inventor like callighan, but he was no idiot. He put on the mask and tested the locking mechanism, small clamps deployed, they stuck into his hair and attached themselves to his scalp. He tugged at its sides and under the mask, neither budged. He lifted a small group of microbots on his desk that he had been testing with all night. The three bots supported eachother, holding each other up into a stock straight line. A smile appeared on his face, he had done it.
He unclamped the head back and placed it on the desk. Than rose from his chair and spun around to go back into the house. Waiting for him in the doorway was his wife, arms folded, still in her night clothes. "You said we would talk about this, that doesn't mean go off and work all night."
"I said we could worry about disappearing in the morning, this has nothing to do with disappearing." His voice was firm, even if he was tired. "I'm going to settle this last score, than i'm done and we are living somewhere nice, where no one knows us."
"Fine, but i'm going to see my dad, i hope for your sake that i don't see you there." With that she was gone.
"Great job Alister, just pissing people off everywhere." He muttered to himself as he entered the house.
After a not so long trek to the square, HIro was met just outside the alleyway by Gogo, "it's about time, what'd you do, take the longest road possible to get here?"
"It's only been…" He pulled out his phone and examined the clock. "... 10 minutes." He gave her a smirk as he put his phone away.
"Whatever, come on!" She grabbed him by the arm and dragged him down the alleyway. 'You might have made us miss it."
"Miss what?" He questioned as he moved down the narrow corridor.
"The last fight," she pulled them into the square proper.
"Bot fight? They ended hours ago." he said very matter of factly.
She stopped so fast that Hiro ran into her back. "What? When i fought we went to dawn and sometimes past."
"FIghts stop two hours before dawn. Well in most places that do, you know the ones that the cops don't find." He crossed his arms and leaned back, a soft chuckle escaping him.
"Than my surprise is mut." She huffed
"Surprise? What is it?" The ex-bot fighter tried to contain himself but inside he felt like a child awaiting a christmas present.
"This."
Ya i'm ending it right before she reveals her surprise, mainly because i can think of how to describe. But it's going to be cool.
