She produced an orange fighting bot. It had black stripes down the sides and looked very light, very fast. It's body was slim, it's armor looked almost non-existent. One area had four serrated blades attached to it,, the other was honed to perfection. A plate of black glass covered it's optical radicals and around it was black paint in dashes, it's head looked more like a mask. It had no feet, just balls that could roll it around.
"I thought you were done bot fighting?" Hiro asked, a sort of morbid curiosity in his voice.
"Nope, i made an arrangement with my parents, i would stop bot fighting till i graduated, and my parents wouldn't kick me out on the street." She gave a happy smile, "I want to face Mega bot."
Hiro burst into laughter, after about a solid 30 seconds of gut wrenching laughing he caught his breath and raised back to a standing position, catching sight of the angry expression on Gogos face. "Oh, you're not kidding. You do realize the only times mega bot has lost is when i let the other guy win so i could swindle more money out of him?" He knew she knew that, but he still had to ask.
"Yes, i do, but i think i can beat him, or at least hold my own." She folded her arms, determination plastered to her face.
"You know what? I think you could too. Mainly because there would be not controler, I'm still retired, and i'm the only one who controls Mega." He crossed his arms and gave a satisfied smile.
"We're not going to fight for money, i just want to test its strength."
"Against a bot that's undefeated, if you think about it. If Mega bot goes red, there is no chance your bot would leave the ring in one piece."
"Than don't make him go red." She said it like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Mega bot is useless when yellow, i made it so i could swindle people. He can barely even walk straight." He explained, getting a little annoyed.
"So what you're saying is you're too scared to fight my bot, right Hamada?" She taunted, she really wanted to fight Mega bot, and she knew her bot could hold it's own.
"No, I'm saying i don't want to destroy my girlfriends hard work." He deadpanned. "If i had any spare bots i would offer to fight with one of those, but i don't have any test bots."
"Oh come on, you don't have any spares?"
"He was the first and last bot i ever made."
"Than how did you test mega bots strengths, you know work out the kinks in his design and find his weak points?"
"I didn't need to test his, his design was and is perfect. He has no flaws besides the ones that i leave in his yellow version as more bait. Now can we please stop talking about this, what do you want to do before graduation?"
" I want to fight, there has to be a way to convince you."
"There is, wait till tonight, and go test on crappy street bots, how about a walk? We can go find something to do on the walk and get our minds off this bot fighting stuff, at least till after the ceremony, i'll even go with you." He started down the alleyway.
"I don't need you to come with me, i certainly don't need you for protection."
Hiro stopped dead and spun around, " I d-didn't mean it l-like that-"
"I know what you meant," She interrupted, Hiro visibly relaxed, but the anger in her voice still kept him on a slight edge, "you meant that i couldn't handle myself alone, that i'm going to screw up."
"N-No I-I was just t-trying to say that-"
"Don't worry i got it loud and clear, "she stormed off down the alleyway.
Hiro collapsed against the cool brick building beside him, putting his head in his hands and slowly lowering himself till he was sitting on the ground, "what just happened?" He muttered into his hands.
"I'll tell you what happened," A man with a southern accent spoke, he sounded to be standing over Hiro, "Leiko just stormed off, and you said something stupid that she took the wrong way, now she's mad at you. It shouldn't be too hard to fix, just give her what she wants and she should be fine, or jewelry. Wait that probably won't work with her, forget i even said that."
"None of this would have happened if i could give her what she wanted." He mumbled.
"Oh, problems in the bedroom you-"
"NO! NO! NO! We haven't done anything." Hiro interrupted, throwing his hands away from his face, he looked up to she John looked down at his, a large smile on his face. "She made a bot, and she wants to fight mine, but if i do that the only things i could do would be destroy her or let her win and if i let her win it would be really obvious because i'm bad at this."
"Why can't you just go a little easy, to the point where you're comfortable with your skills to hide the fact that you're going easy."
"If i could i would, but my bot has two settings, take a fall and destroy with no mercy."
"Than how about this," He slides down to sit next to him, and with a grunt continues, " you apologize first off, than let her fight it."
Hiro gave him a dumbfounded look, "Have you not been listening to anything i said? I can't, i don't want to destroy her hard work, and can't take a not obvious fall."
"Than show her that her bot can't take yours. A quick fight and she gets what she wants, it also may make her determined to improve her bot till she can beat yours, i think it's the only way that you can do it." The small kid but his head into his hands again, as if to hide from the world because he couldn't see it himself. "If you hid from her, it's only going to get worse. Trust me, i know."
"What's that supposed to mean?" His head still in his hands.
"It means that i did that once before and she kneed me where the sun don't shine, then i didn't see her for years. Call me crazy but i don't think you would like either part of that."
Hiro let out an exhausted sigh and lifted his head, "fine I'll give her a fight, but if this makes her madder, it's on your head." He rose, pushing against the wall for support. He helped the older man to his feet and shook his hand, "Thanks john, I don't know why but you remind me of my brother, and thats not an easy thing to say."
"Than i'm extremely grateful for it, good luck with Gogo." He nodded to the small boy and disappeared around the corner. Hiro pulled out his phone and shot a text to Gogo I'm sorry, if you still want to fight Mega bot meet me at freds in about an hour.
He put his phone away and started the walk home, somewhere along the way his phone buzzed and a little tune played. Quickly pulling it out he saw Gogos message, I knew that would work see you there :).
This should have gone up this morning but i forgot to upload it before i left for school and fanfic is banned on my schools wifi :( stupid school.
Th3Ph4nt0miz3r: Just remember, Gogos not stupid. She wouldn't want to fight Mega bot without a reason or a trick up her sleeve. This is going to be fun to write.
