"Shall we go inside? The food is getting cold." Sesshoumaru pulled the velvet curtain aside to reveal an entire table covered lavishly in all the finest foods and sake.
Kagome visibly gaped at the amount of elegance this room exerted. Kagome sat down at on a inlaid English chair, its high back and crushed velvet padding supporting her posture. She sat there, unsure of what to do.
Sesshoumaru turned to Rin, "Rin, why don't you go keep Aki company? She's been quite lonely since her sister died."
Rin gave a huge smile."Sure! I'm kind of tired anyway." Rin skipped out of the room.
Sesshoumaru turned towards Kagome fiendishly."Would you like some sake?"
"I think I'd better not." Kagome said, preparing to leave at the earliest opportunity.
Ignoring her, Sesshoumaru poured her a cup if sake, them poured one for himself one. He lifted his cup and smiled at Kagome."To the unknown and its possibilities." He swung back the cup and took a few big gulps. Then, he grabbed a large portion of a turkey and took small bites of it.
Kagome sipped her sake and placed some turkey on her plate daintily. She ate slowly, while Sesshoumaru plied her with more sake. Due to this, Kagome became steadily inebriated. Sesshoumaru seemed to take this in stride, pouring her more with a determined look in his eyes.
After Kagome was sufficiently drunk. Sesshoumaru laid down his fork and turned towards her. "Do you remember anything from the night Inuyasha attacked your friends?"
Kagome shook her head."No. I don't even remember coming here. Last I remember, Sango and I were getting ready to go back to my home. She went to get her shoes, and then everything after that is a blur. Next thing I know, I'm in the corner of a dark room."
Sesshoumaru shook his head and inhaled deeply."I saw the wreckage. You were bleeding and unconscious when I found you. My brother had ripped the other woman's head clear from her body. The other members of your party had suffered similar deaths."
Kagome took a gulp of sake. Sensing Kagome's discomfort, Sesshoumaru changed the subject. "How have you adjusted to the castle? Rin had assured me it was her duty to give you the tour." He smiled a bit, thinking of Rin, who was like a daughter to him.
"As well as I could. This place is like a labyrinth." Kagome laughed, feeling more at ease.
"I'll give you the tour. I know these halls better that she does." He sat up and offered his hand to her. Kagome took his hand and stood up. He walked ahead of her and pulled back the velvet curtain.
