As they made their way further and further into the woods, Kagome became alarmed. The atmosphere was changing. She could feel a sinister energy ahead. It grew more and more eminent as they continued on. The evil sunk into her bones. She began to breathe in gasps, as if someone was pushing down on her chest. Inuyasha smiled at her, and his eyes shone blood red. Kagome tried to take her hand from his, only to find that Inuyasha's claws were digging into her flesh. She stopped and his nails ripped through her skin, causing her to scream aloud. Her scream was blood curdling.
Inuyasha covered his ears, the sound like nails on a chalkboard. He stared at her, his eyes filled with murderous intent.
Kagome took the opportunity to start running. She ran as fast as she could, staying in the opposite direction of the presence she felt. Her legs began to ache, but she ran in spite of it. Before she knew it, she was in front of the castle. She slowed her pace and rounded the corner of the wall, only to see Sesshomaru. She stopped in her tracks.
Upon seeing her, Sesshomaru began to stride toward her, his face devoid of all emotion. He started to speak when he noticed her arm. "What happened to you?"
"It… It was Inuyasha." Kagome breathed her throat tight.
"You should have stayed here. I can't protect you if you leave." He said his jaw set in a hard line. "You need your wounds tended to. Find one of the servants. They will see to it that you are taken care of. Then you will meet me in the library to discuss what occurred during your foolish trip out of the castle."
