Kagome made her way to find a servant and ran straight into Dai Onna.

"Kagome, what's happened to you?" She questioned.

Kagome ran through the night's event, holding her tears back. As she explained, Dai Onna started rummaging through the cabinets. She pulled out various items and closed the cabinets with a start. Kagome shifted slightly, beginning to feel dizzy.

Dai Onna walked over to her, bandages in hand. "Sit down, you don't look so good."

Kagome looked down at her arm. The gashes in her arm were deep, and infected. She tried moving it and gasped in pain. Dai Onna grabbed her arm and began cleaning it. She whistled while she helped her, which Kagome found soothing.

When Dai Onna finished, she stopped whistling and looked Kagome in the eyes. "Why did you go?"

Kagome was taken aback. She hadn't even thought about that. When it had happened, she'd just gone. There was virtually no thought process.

"I don't quite know. I just did... I guess it was my residual love for him that caused me to trust him so blindly." Kagome shifted uncomfortably. She knew her reason was hard to understand, but it had been the truth.

Dai Onna just went back her work, dropping the subject.

Kagome left, deciding that Sesshoumaru's wrath was better than awkward silence.

As she made her way up the long spiraling corridor, she grew lost again. It wasn't until she stumbled into a large statue that she realized where she was. She found her way to the library, but stopped short of opening the door. She could hear voices.

"My Lord, what are you expecting her to tell you that you don't already know? You were there when he slaughtered them. She is no use to you."

"Jaken, this is none of your concern. Your disobedience is infuriating. You should consider yourself lucky that I am not having you executed." Kagome could hear Sesshomaru's voice, low and calm.

"My Lord, I mean no offense. I meant only to be of assistance if need be. I apologize for any misunderstanding. I bid you a goodnight." Kagome could hear shuffling and ran to hide. As Jaken passed, Kagome pulled herself together and walked into the library.

Sesshomaru was sitting behind his desk, his brow furrowed. He looked up, as if just noticing her presence. "Kagome, sit."

Kagome sat at once, nervous. Her fears had run away with her. The worst possible scenarios played in her mind. "What did you want to talk about?" She attempted to repress her fear.

Kagome could see his chest rise and fall slowly as his breathing became slower, more controlled.
