Gogo visibly tensed to his right and she grabbed her arms tighter. Hiro looked to the rest of his friends. Honey and Wasabi where both trying to calm down their friend, tears streamed down Honey's cheeks. Hiro's heart bled for them, but he had to stay strong for them. Gogo put a hand on his shoulder, he took a deep breath and looked up to meet her gaze. He met a stoic, emotionless, face, but he saw pain fill her eyes. "I think she started cutting again." That's not all of it and you know that, you need to tell her everything. He opened his mouth to speak, but she dug her fingers into his shoulder, tears began to form in her eyes.
"Why would she do that? She seemed happy, she just found out Fred liked her back." Her voice was soft, pain etched in her words. But she kept the tears that threatened to overcome her at bay.
I can't do it, she's already going to cry. He put his friend hand on hers and stood. He wrapped her in a hug, holding her as close as he could for just a few moments. Trying desperately to find the words to make things right, to at least make her smile in this situation. When nothing came to mind he quickly broke the hug and strided toward the door, Beymax stayed put in the corner. Hiro disappeared outside without anyone beside him.
He stood on the back porch, his elbows leaning against the hard wood railing. He stared at some far off point in the distance, as the tempest of thoughts raged in his head. Standing on both sides of the same argument, to share information that might hurt her image and the feelings of people around her, or share it and risk the pain for the full truth. His thoughts consumed him to the point of no noticing the door slide open then close, or the soft foot steps across the deck, or the creaking of the deck chair.
instead he noticed the gentle breeze brushing the leaves of the trees. The moonlight shining down on the gazebo they used to train in. THe pleasant scent of strawberries on the wind. Wait people grow strawberries around here? than he felt something very close to him. *pop*
He jumped as he heard the sound. It was quite but to him it sounded like a firecracker going off right behind him. He turned to see gogo standing before him, a little closer than he expected, her arms folded, not mad but something shown in her body language she was not happy. "Are yo-! How are you?" Don't ask if she was trying to give you a heart attack, that's a bad idea.
"It hurts, but i'll manage, your not going to have a little episode like last time, right?" She wrapped, her arms around his shoulders, "I don't want to lose you again, not after everything we have been through."
"I think i'll be fine, i have no one to be mad at but myself." He huffed a deep breath and looked back to his far off point, trying to avoid her gaze.
She joined him leaning on the railing, her eyes joining his in staring off into nothingness. They were silent for awhile, almost to the point of being awkward. But Gogo broke it, "Why do you feel like it was your fault?"
"Who else could it have beens fault? I was the one that could do nothing for her, i was the one that could do nothing as she said goodbye." His eyes never broke contact with that far off point.
"There was nothing you could do, no matter how hard you tried you couldn't have changed the outcome." She scooted closer to him, resting her head on his shoulder, the scent of strawberry mixing with her shampoo. Hiro took a deep breath in thru his nose, savoring the scent. "It doesn't have to be someone's fault all the time, sometimes things just happen that we can't change. It's not our fault.
"Ya, i guess." Now's the time, even if it ruins the moment. "Gogo, there's something else about Brains." He finally tore his gaze away and placed it on his girlfriend, "She might have been depressed. Beymax founds increased dopamine in her blood."
Gogo breathed a big sigh, "Well at least it would explain why she was cutting. But why, i just can't understand why."
"I know, we will never know why, but if she was medicating for it that means she saw someone about it, just didn't tell us. I'm not sure what hurts more." Hiro gently wrapped his arms around her.
"I think it just hurts all together. But we can deal with it right?" Hiro nodded in response.
The door behind them slide open, "guys you should see this." It was Honey, neither needed to turn to see it. They both turned regardless, silently following the not excited or happy chemist. They ended up back in Freds room, the T.V. was on a local news station. Wow, Fred is always watching the news. The black haired news caster guy stood in front of the San Fransoko police station. They entered the room mid sentence, Fred and Wasabi sat on the couch, eyes glued the the image as the man spoke. "-ix, he bled out before the medics could save him. So the real question is, are the city's fabled heroes turning a little to the dark side? That's for the people to decide, and we here at channel seven news have prepared a pole for you to vote on, just text the number at on screen now with a yes or no. Any other answers will be ignored, now back to Greg, who will be tracking the progress of our poles."
The camera returned to a newsroom, and the talking continued. But everyone's attention changed from the background noise of the tv to discussing what they heard.
Wasabi was the first to speak,"They think we're criminals, we stopped that guy. He would have killed all those people, no doubt in my mind about it."
Gogo spoke next, "guys, Krei is dead, like stone dead."
Her voice was quickly overcome by Honeys, "We can't be criminals i like being the good guys."
Her voice drowned out in comparison to Freds, who was basically shouting. "They don't even care that we lost someone of our own. They can't just not know!" Everyone divulged into yelling to try and get their point across. The room quickly grew very loud with four voices trying to make everybody else hear them, but Hiro sat the argument out, instead he waited for it end.
But after five minutes of constant shouting, Hiro grew tired of it, not to mention the headache that slowly formed in his head. "ENOUGH!" He shouted, the room fell silent, Hiro took a few seconds before speaking again. The silence just aggravated his headache more, "Look at yourselves, you have been best friends for years and you can't talk something out. Yes things look like utter crap right now, well guess what it doesn't matter what any of them say. We are who we are, no matter what happens we are us." He looked at all of them inturn, "I don't know about you, but i'm not going to sit here and shout at each other while there are things we could be doing to actually make a difference.
Honey, we are not going to stop being the good guys. Gogo, yes we know Krei dead, but there is nothing we can do about it now, it wasn't really our fault. Wasabi, he probably would have leveled that expo center, but we are not criminals." He took a deep breath and turned to Fred, "Fred, we lost one of our own in secret. They don't know, there is only one way for them to know and thats to tell them." He braced for the impact of him launching himself on to the small boy but nothing came. Everyone stood still, a kinda surprised look on all of their faces. "What, did none of you hear what i said?" Gogo, who was closest, turned his body to face the television screen.
Two yellow lines appeared on the screen, one significantly larger than the other. Hiro quickly scanned the bottoms, the smaller line had yes written under it. The large by a large margin had no written under it. I can't believe it, the people believe in us still after that.
Yea, everyone care about the peoples. Been awhile since i uploaded here. Also if you don't know what dopamine is, it is the chemical in your brain that is responsible for feeling happy. Happy Pills make a large amount of dopamine in your system.
Th3Ph4nt0miz3r: Yes the visors are tinted, you know secret identity. Their not in the movie, but i mean if they really are trying to keep it a secret they would probably need them.
