Kagome awoke, her body stiff from lying on the ground. She glanced over to see how Shippo was doing, but he was gone. Kagome jumped up and searched her room. He was nowhere to be found. Anxious, Kagome ran down the stairs and looked for Dai Onna. She burst into her room, finding Shippo sitting there with one arm up, getting his side rebandaged.
Shippo looked up at Kagome. "I'm glad you found me. I lost a lot of blood." He smiled weakly and looked down.
"What happened to you?" Kagome prodded.
"Inuyasha. Or someone who looks exactly like him. Sango and I were gathering wood and when we came back to the campsite Inuyasha had changed. He had Miroku by the throat. Miroku tried to escape but Inuyasha tore his head clean from his body. Upon seeing this, Sango screamed. Inuyasha charged at her, moving faster than anything I'd ever seen. He pulled apart her ribcage and left her to die. I ran, but he was fast. It took all of my fox magic to get away from him alive. I came here, hoping Sesshoumaru's hatred for his brother would encourage him to fix this." Shippo looked up at Kagome. "But somehow I ran into you. How did you get here?"
"Sesshomaru said he saved me from Inuyasha. I don't know how, but he said he brought me here…" Upon saying this, Kagome realized how little she actually knew about how she got here. Sesshomaru had only told her the basics: that she was going to die if he hadn't saved her…
"You should consider it good fortune." Shippo stood, Dai Onna having finished tending to his wounds. "I should be leaving. Inuyasha will come looking for me. Whatever has possessed him to kill the others will surely persuade him to finish the job. I'm going to find Kaede and see if she can help find a way to stop Inuyasha. Be careful, he will surely want to finish what he started." And with that there was a puff of smoke, and Shippo was gone.
"He sure didn't stick around long. He must be pretty scared, Miss, to have run off like that. He's wounds weren't even completely healed. If I were you, I'd tell Master Sesshomaru. He will want to know of these happenings." Dai Onna bristled and set about to her days work, leaving Kagome to her thoughts.
