Kagome walked down the hallway, towards Sesshomaru's chambers. She was dreading the conversation, not certain how he'd react. He never said anything outright. He always resorted to these sort of vague expressions that never put her mind at ease. She never knew from one moment to the next how he was going to react.
As the turmoil in her own mind suddenly came to a halt, she looked up to see Sesshomaru's golden eyes searching her face. "What is it?" He simply asked.
"I found Shippo last night. Inuyasha had attacked him, but he ran away. He told me to be careful. I think he might still be after me." Kagome looked into his eyes. "I need to know what happened. I need to know what he's capable of."
"I don't think it suitable to discuss these things now. How about we discuss this after dinner in my study." Sesshomaru now walked past her and continued down the corridor. Halfway down, he stopped, and said, "Dress you best for dinner, there will be a guest coming. I'll send some servants to your room."
Kagome watched him continue back down the hall, and then down the stairs. The first thought in her mind was obvious. Who is the guest?
She made her way back up to her room, hoping for some peace from the chaos quickly approaching. She sunk into the bed and closed her eyes. Before she knew it, she was fast asleep.
