Kagome woke up and looked around her. Night had fallen and it was eerily quiet. She stepped out of her room and looked around, but no one seemed to be awake. She started walking down the stairs, not sure where she was going. Before she knew it she found herself in front of the large wooden door that lead to the dungeon. She reached her hand out… and hesitated. She wasn't entirely sure she wanted to go down there. Inuyasha had killed her best friends. She wasn't sure if she could deal with that. She wasn't sure if anyone could.
She slowly opened the door, hesitating as though she was afraid Inuyasha was going to jump out at her and attack her. A moment passed and nothing happened, so she opened the door and made her way inside. She began taking the steps, one at a time, going deeper into the dungeon. She could hear chains rattling. Her skin began to crawl and her hair stood on end when she finally came into view of him.
Inuyasha was chained up by his wrists and ankles with thick metal shackles. He kind of hung, slumped against the dungeon wall. Kagome could see blood around his eyes and face. She took a step closer to the bars when Inuyasha sprang to life.
"Kagome! Is that you? You have to help me!" Inuyasha looked at her, pleading, but something was off. There was something in his eyes that put Kagome on edge. "They're going to kill me."
Kagome stood there, shaking. Her mind was spinning. She needed answers. "Why did you kill them?"
"Kill who?" Inuyasha said in an odd tone of voice.
"Miroku and Sango. They were our friends. They were there for us." Kagome felt tears well up in her eyes.
"I didn't do it on purpose. We were all setting up camp for the night when we got ambushed by a large group of soldiers. I lost my Tessaiga and I was about to die. I transformed into my Yokai form and I just couldn't stop. I fought my way through everyone around me, not realizing what I had done until it was too late. You have to get me out of here, Kagome. I need your help." Inuyasha pleaded with her, trying to break the chains that bound him to the wall.
Kagome couldn't process the mass of information. She needed to talk to Sesshomaru. She'd have to do it first thing in the morning.
