Hi Guys, I would like to take this time to apologize for my long absense (Abour 2 or 3 years at this point x.x), I lost my computer due to water damage :( and am just now getting a computer back in working order. To add to this I'm a new mom as well so I had the whole pregnancy thing going as well as adjusting to having a mini around, which is still an adjustment since she's started to become mobile... I apologize from the bottom of my heart for any slow posting even though I'm going to try to post more often now that we have a little bit of routine with her. :)
I have decided that I am going to try and update more often, and hopefully get into more of a routine with it, hopefully I'll be able to get this updated once aweek at least. Depending on my work schedule and where my muse is maybe more :3 If anything comes up and I won't be able to update I'll at least pop on and let you guys know that It'll be a little longer before I can update.
Now, I'm super happy with all of the responses that I've gotten in my reviews as well as all of the song suggestions, which I'm planing on using ALL of them since this is a continuing story, and I'm going to take my time with it to explore a lot of different music genres, as well as dancing styles I think. I'm gonna play with this a lot At least that's my intentions.
Now, since I've gotten all of this out of the way, I'm going to continue on with Dance of SeductionI hope you all enjoy chapter 3!
Chapter 3:
Kagome stretched a small groan falling from her lips as she opened her eyes and peeked out of her sleeping bag. She had fallen asleep shortly after making dinner for the group. Crawled into her sleeping bag and cuddled up to Shippo, who now felt like he had a fever, a frown found its place on her lips as she brushed his hair off his sweaty forhead. Shippo groaned and rolled a little, opening his eyes and looking up at Kagome "Mama..." he whimpered softly. Kagome smiled and kissed his forehead "I'm right here sweety... I'm gonna go to my bag and get something to help you okay?" Her voice was barely above a whisper as she spoke to him. She slid herself out of the sleeping bag and walked the little distance to her yellow back pack glancing around at the other members of their small group. Sango and Miroku were still sleeping, at some point in the night they must have rolled towards each other and started to cuddle. They wouldn't do that with others watching it just wasn't like them, Kagome smiled as she shook her head at her friends. Everyone in the group knew that Sango and Miroku liked each other, and that they would eventually end up together, the only ones who seemed in any form of denial about it were Sango and Miroku themselves.
She giggled softly to herself as she reached into her yellow bag and started searching for some of the medicine that she had brought with her from her time in the future. Kagome knew that she had a fever reducer in there somewhere it was just a matter of finding it in the big bag. She glanced up at the tree where Inuyasha had perched himself last night after dinner, and sighed softly seeing that he wasn't there. That meant that Kikyo had shown up at some time in the night and pulled the half demon away from the group. Kagome had long ago given up the hope that her and Inuyasha would be together., she knew that no matter what she would always come second in his heart to Kikyo. She had moved from loving him as more then a friend to loving him as a brother, now she was worried about Kikyo hurting him as she did in the past when she denied his demon side and asked him to change into a human.
Kagome sighed as she finally found the fever reducer, she turned and walked back to her son putting a smile back on her lips just for him. She sat down next to Shippo and opened the medicine "Shippo hunny, I need you to open your mouth for me okay? It's not gonna taste good but it'll help you..." She spoke softly so she didn't disturb him to much in case he had fallen back asleep. When Shippo opened his eyes she kissed his forehead again and opened the medicine pouring a little of the liquid into the little measuring cup that came with it. "Open up" She said softly holding up the cup so that Shippo could see it, he opened his mouth and whimpered softly knowing that it wasn't going to taste good. Shippo had medicine from the future before, when he was sick Kagome always took care of him. The fox demon groaned as the medicine touched his tongue and quickly swollowed so that the taste wouldn't be in his mouth for entirely to long. He smiled weakly at Kagome and pushed himself into a sitting position, under her watchful eye. Kagome was always watching him carefully, to make sure that he didn't over strain himself, she smiled at him and sat back a little.
Shippo shifted in the sleeping bag and looked over at the fire, thinking about his adoptive mother as he watched the flames dance. He hated being sick, it made his Mother worry about him. 'Momma's always so worried about everyone but herself...' He thought as he sighed and looked back up at her, she tilted her head and smiled down at him once more and petted his hair off of his forehead once more. "Rest Shippo, I'll make sure that we take it easy today I'll carry you if need be." Kagomes voice was soft as she glanced at the slowly rising sun, it was going to be a long day, she already knew that. Shippo nodded a little his eyes closing as he started to fall back asleep.
Kagome hummed softly, her mind wandering to her conversation with Sesshomaru from the day before. She had no idea as to what she was going to do, he had demanded that she dance for him again and whether she liked it or not. Now it was a matter of what she was going to dance to, and how she was going to make it so that he could hear the music too, since she couldn't fathom dancing as she did last time, knowing that he was watching. She would have to go back to her time and get a pair of portable speakers, she knew they wouldn't be to loud but it was better then nothing at the moment. Kagome furrowed her brows together, 'but what song... That last one was dirty... and there's no way that I'm dancing to another dirty song in front of the Demon Lord...'with a sigh she picked up her iPod and started scrolling through the list of songs that she had on there. Clicking on a few of them to try and see if there was one that really caught her eye for her to dance to.
She hummed her hand petting Shippo's hair a little as she scrolled through the songs on her iPod, trying to figure out what song would be best, she also had to factor in whatever she might play needed to be softer since she didn't want it to hurt Sesshomaru's ears, being a demon his hear would be a lot more sensative then she herself was used to pausing her finger hovered over one of her favorite songs. Kagome chewed on her bottom lip thoughtfully as she thought about the song. 'it's not to loud, and it only has a little bit of sexual overtones... maybe it's not a bad choice...' her eyes closed as she thought about the words to the song, trying to figure out if this was the song that she wanted to dance to or not. Hand still idely petting her son as he slept.
Kagome heard a sound coming from the tree's on the left side of the camp and her eyes cracked open slightly and her gaze slid lazily over to the area as Inuyasha creeped back into the camp. She watched as he looked to Sango and Miroku his shoulders relaxing from their tensed position when he saw that they were asleep still, he scanned the camp trying to make sure everyone was still asleep as he lept back into his tree, non the wiser that Kagome was in fact awake. Kagome had learned long ago how to fake being asleep so there were no awkward moments between the whole group when she happened to see him come back from one of his secret visits with Kikyo. She let her eyes slide the rest of the way closed as she yawned and stretched, acting like she was just waking up, not worried about Inuyasha noticing the yellow pack was in a different spot, he never paid that much attention when he came back from one of his meetings being to concerned with getting caught bu one of the others.
Inuyasha looked down at Kagome watching her stretch before jumping down out of his tree and landing in front of her "Keh.. about time you woke up Wench." He grumbled at her, before glancing at Sango and Miroku who were also waking up blushing madly as they hurriedly rolled away from one another hoping no one else saw. Kagome rolled her eyes and stood up slowly, once again being careful not to disturb Shippo to much as she got back out of her sleeping bag. "Just because you don't need beauty sleep Inuyasha doesn't mean I don't." She said, earning her a glare from that half demon and a small chuckle from Miroku who geussed what had been said since it was normal every day routine. Inyasha growled and shot Miroku a glare as well but decidely, wisely, to keep his mouth shut and not respond.
Kagome stretched once more once she was standing and moved over to their fire pit from the night before putting a little bit of new kindling on the fire and striking a match to get a fire going to start breakfast, she wanted to make Shippo some tea as well since she figured his throat might be hurting too. Blowing lightly on the fire to get it going she glanced back at her adoptive son letting a smile play at her lips as she watched him sleep. He was such a good boy that she hated to see him in pain or sick in any way. Inuyasha grunted drawing her attention to him as the fire started to finally go "you making me ramen wench?" he asked, gesturing to the yellow pack. Kagome nodded in answer not bothering to say anything back to him, he was going to be grumpy all day even though it was his own fault he didn't sleep at all since he was up all night with Kikyo. She stood and walked to her pack pulling out the camping cooking stand and a pot to boil water in. "If you want Ramen Inuyasha you need to go get me water to make it. I don't have anymore water bottles..." Inuyasha grumbled but bolted out of the campsite with a bucket to get water from a nearby creek to cook his prescious Ramen.
Sango shook her head watching the half demon run out of the camp "You would think you starve him Kagome-chan... " Sango said, standing up to help Kagome finish setting up to cook breakfast. Once set up was done she moved to Shippo's side and reached out to touch his shoulder to wake him up. "Don't wake him up yet Sango-chan... He has a fever..." Kagome said softly as she brushed Sango's shoulder with her palm lightly to draw Sango's attention back to her. Sango turned her head to look at Kagome and nodded slightly as she backed away. "Have you given him some of your Medicine already?" Sango asked as she went and sat by Miroku waiting for Inuyasha to return with the water. Kagome nodded as she pulled out 2 packets of ramen humming softly "I'm not sure how long they will take to kick in, I'm hoping to let him sleep longer in hopes of fighting the fever.." Kagome said, she pulled out some tea packets from her big yellow bag as well her head tilting to the side slightly as she heard Inuyasha just outside the camp he appeared to be cursing about something.
Inuyasha entered the clearing and it took everything in Kagome not to laugh at him, he was covered head to toe in leaves, sticks dirt and debri. No one even had time to open their mouths and ask him anything, Inuyasha jumped right into a rant "Next time you can get the water wench, that was more trouble then it was worth. The damn river is off a drop off and it's solid mud, once your covered in mud it's impossible to travel anywhere without colloecting everything in your path in the mud. Once your covered in that shit it makes it hard to travel faster and then shit just gets in the way..." by the time he was done he sounded like a puppy whining because their owner spanked them for doing something bad. Kagome giggled softly as she listened to Inuyasha, "didn't you go to the creek Inuyasha?" She asked as she grabbed the bucket of water from him and poured some of it's contents into the cooking pot over the fire. "Where else would I get water wench!" He half shouted at her, a bit frustrated that she would ask him that. Kagome shrugged and started cooking their breakfast, "Well there's a river a little further then the creek, and Sango and I didn't have as much trouble as you seem to when we went to the creek to wash up last night... speaking of which, your filthy Inuyasha, you need to bathe before we eat..." she smiled as she pointed the spoon she was stiring the water with at him. Inuyasha blinked before he growled lowly and bolted out of the camp site grumbling about stupid picky wench's. Kagome shook her head as he left once more and went about her task of cooking ramen, happy she was able to keep Inuyasha distracted from the fact that Shippo was still asleep. Even if she told him Shippo was sick he would probably insist on waking the young kit up.
It only took Inuyasha a few minutes to clean himself up, when he came back to the camp again his hair was slightly damp but not to bad and the ramen was done and ready to be eaten. Sango helped Kagome serve the food, and when everyone was done eating Sango helped Kagome pack up the cooking supplies while Miroku and Inuyasha cleaned up the rest of the camp. Inuyasha reached for Kagomes sleeping bag to roll it up since it was the only thing left out. "I'll put it away Inuyasha." Kagome said as she walked over to him and stepped in front of him a little kneeling down to the sleeping bag and gently shaking Shippo to try and wake him enough for her to move him. "Why are you letting the runt sleep so long, he needs to get up and do his share too." Inuyasha said gruffly as he crossed his arms standing there and watching her. Kagome sighed softly and gathered the half asleep kit into her arms as she one handedly rolled her sleeping bag up and put it away balacining the kit in her arms to do so since he was still really groggy. "Shippo's sick Inuyasha, sleep helps to recover quicker. I'll be carrying him for most of today..." Kagome said as she grabbed one strap on her yellow pack lifting it to her shoulder to put the pack on. "Feh... you better not slow us down today carrying him..." Inuyasha grumbled as he watched her.
Kagome rolled her eyes and shifted Shippo to her other arm wiggling a little as she grabbed the other strap of her yellow pack and slid it onto her shoulder as well. "I won't Inuyasha." she said as she turned and glared at him, Inuyasha's ears lowered for a second before he grunted and turned east ready to leave their campsite. Kagome shook her head again and turned as well glancing at Miroku and Sango who appeared to be ready to go as well. Kagome smiled as they started walking, completly forgetting about Shessomaru and the private show she would be giving him in the future.
Simple chapter for you guys, I'm already working on Chapter 4, so hopfully I'll be able to upload before long here. It will all depend on what's going on with my daughter and work since I work full time and she's starting to walk now which means she will be getting into more things. :p
Again I'm very very sorry it's taken me so long to write this chapter and to get you guys an update. Hoping this never happens again.
