"Why are we decorating Easter Eggs?" Annabeth asks, raising an eyebrow at me. "We're Greek. Children of the Greek Gods. Easter is a strictly Christian Holiday, and the last time I checked, no one at this table was."
"Because it's fun," Leo answers. He was the first person the agree with me. He loves celebrating these Holidays. Annabeth always questions them.
"Your father would be appalled we're celebrating a Holiday that wasn't strictly Greek," We aren't even Irish!" "No, I will not buy presents with you."
Okay, okay, she may have only said half those things, and once she gets into it, it really isn't all that bad. She even sort of likes these Holidays, even though she'll only admit it to Percy.
"Haze, can you pass me another egg?" Leo asks, putting his hand out in front of her. Hazel's eyebrows narrow a little, since the eggs are closer to Leo then they are to her. Hazel reaches across the table, taking an egg from the plate, and putting it in Leo's hands. Leo grins. "Thanks!"
I look around for a minute. Everyone is here, aren't they? Reyna, Percy, Leo, Frank, Hazel, Hedge, Annabeth, Piper...everyone is here, aren't they? Am I forgetting someone?
"Where's Nico?" I ask, after a few minutes, finally realizing who isn't here.
Leo looks around. "Not here, apparently." I nod, standing up. I begin to walk to Nico's room.
"Jason, why are you leaving?" Annabeth asks. "We just started painting! I just starting enjoying this!"
"I'll be back in a minute. I just want to get Nico." Annabeth's nose twitches, then she nods, reaching across the table to get another egg.
The person with the most eggs painted is Hazel, then Leo, then Frank. Piper also has quite a few. Percy has been working on the same egg for the entire time we've painted. Reyna has two. Hedge...has none. He doesn't like the idea of painting eggs. Annabeth has only just started. I have three or four, not that many. Something has been bothering me. I don't know what. It just...has been.
I walk to the hall, and down a corridor until I reach the Cabins. I walk passed everyone else's, until I reach the end of the hall, where Nico and Hazel sleep. Weirdly, on the right side is Nico and Hazel's room, and the left is Leo's. He always is near the Hades Children. It's actually kind of weird.
I knock on the door, then open it.
Nico is sitting on his bed, the top bunk, in a t-shirt and boxers, reading one of Hazel's magazines, almost falling asleep.
"I'm so sorry," I say, turning. I walked in on him not wearing long pants. It's the first time and I really didn't need to see that. Or, I really didn't need Nico to know I saw that.
Nico winces, throwing his magazine at me, picking up a pair of pants that were apparently lying on his bed and putting them on.
"Jason!" He cries, as though it was delayed. He pulls them on, and slides off his bed, crossing her arms, then picks up his magazine, regaining his position. "What are you doing in here?!"
"...you didn't come down to paint" I say. "I did knock on the door, okay? I had no idea..." I stop, trying not to laugh. Not at him, just the situation. I would've laughed if it was anyone on board. Even the girls. Nico blushes, turning away.
"I was just in my shorts, nothing weird" Nico said. "I was alone. Hazel was painting. I didn't want to paint! I always used to do things like this with..." He stops, shuddering a little. The dead sister? Most likely.
"That's alright" I say. "Hey, Hazel is downstairs! Painting eggs! Why don't you come with me downstairs?"
Nico pauses, then turns back, glaring at me. "No. And don't just come barging in here without waiting for the word! I could have been about to shower in only a towel!" He throws his hands up in the air, slumping over to his bed.
"Oh come on, Nico" I say, with a huff. "It's just for a few hours. No one is going to judge you for painting an egg. What's stopping you?" Nico's glares again, huffing at me, crossing her arms again.
"Bianca...she isn't here" He mutters, very quietly. "I don't want to go downstairs."
"But...but" I say, looking for something. Anything! "Hazel is downstairs! Percy is downstairs! I'll be downstairs..."
"So?" Nico asks, raising an eyebrow.
"I don't know" I say, with a shrug. "Just thought it might help." Nico smirks.
"You think so highly of yourself, don't you?"
"I'm not the only one!" I insist, smirking back at him.
"Yes you are" Nico says. "I don't think highly of myself."
"Oh, sure," I say. "Mr. Son Of Hades, supreme commander of the dead."
"I'm not like that!" Nico says, his eyes a little wide.
"Yeah, you aren't like that" I agree. Nico laughs. I grin.
"Yes! That was a laugh! A sincere, clean, lovely laugh! I knew I could do it!" I say, rubbing my hands together. Nico scowls, but doesn't seem to have something to say to it.
"Shut up."
"Oh, but I can't!" I say, throwing my hands up. "I made you happy! I made Nico di Angelo happy!" Nico sighs, rolling over onto his back.
"Can you go now?"
"Why?" I ask. "You were happy for a moment. Come on, Nico, be happy for a moment longer!"
"But..." Nico says. "Bianca...?"
"Would want you to spend this day, happy, and with friends! Besides, Hazel is here. She isn't Bianca, but she loves you." Nico sighs, getting up again.
"Jerk" He says.
"Thanks."
AN. OH MY GOSH YOU ARE ALL SO SWEET! You all seriously give me life. No matter what your review it, it just makes me want to write more! Anyway, I was very hesitant to do either Easter or Christmas, because they are Demigods, and I just couldn't see them doing this or taking it seriously unless it was just painting eggs and probably later in the night eating chocolate. I was to lazy to write Nico and Jason painting eggs together, but, if I get more then five reviews on this Chapter at any point, I may just write a Part Two for the Easter Chapter...
Also, thank you Anonymous Jessica Chase. Your review almost made me cry. It did give me so much courage, and got me to write this chapter. Thank you.
Coffee.
