A/N Ok I AM SOOOOO Sorry that it took me so long to update. I wanted to try and avoid a clichéd happy ever after but still have a happy ever after with our beloved Willicia. This took far more thought than I possessed, however in spite of it I present to you the next chapter in the lives of two of our favorite lawyers. Hope you all are still here with me!
Their wedding had been small, just their partners and family. Alicia had done the big wedding and didn't care to have another. Life had been a lot different and yet so much the same since that day at Georgetown. Alicia sat at her desk in the new offices of Lockhart, Florrick and Gardner. Cary had decided he just couldn't bring himself to join with Lockhart/Gardner, there was just too much bad blood. She was back in her old office, which gave her an excellent view of her very sexy husband. As she looked at Will hard at work over a brief she thought back to that day at Georgetown.
Surrounded by the most important people in her life Alicia was speechless. She couldn't speak as she silently nodded to Will as he slipped the stunning ring onto her finger.
To be honest she had been a little overwhelmed, it wasn't normally a display she would have stood for but it was also the sweetest situation she had ever found herself in
She had lovingly informed him that night at the hotel that if he ever did anything like that to her again she would find a great place to hide his body. After all she did have Colin Sweeney on speed dial should the need arise.
Alicia was so lost in thought that she hadn't even realized that her husband was standing in her doorway.
"If you stare at my window any harder you're going to burn a hole through it."
Alicia shook her head and looked up, she offered Will one if her show stopping smiles that she reserved for him and him alone.
"Sorry when there's such gorgeous eye candy sitting behind it, I can't help it." Alicia shrugged, "Anyways did you need something?"
"I just wanted to see if you had the file on the Stewart-French case? Kalinda needs it so she can compare notes with Robin."
"Give me twenty minutes so I can dig it out from this pile," Alicia gestured to the mess that was currently her desk, "I feel like ever since we got back from Cancun I've been in a constant state of catching up, and I have court tomorrow for the Drexler case."
Will smiled as he watched Alicia unconsciously straightening her desk. She didn't realize it but she did the same at home. He had never imagined married life, but with Alicia it was nothing short of amazing. It wasn't all rainbows and butterflies that was for sure. Oh that first fight in the new house had been a doozy.
Will had walked in and found Alicia storming around the house still dressed in her work clothes. She had come close to throwing a glass in the sink just moments before. Unfortunately for Will he had provided her a less fragile target than one of her favorite mugs.
"I work all day, spend 5 hours in court, and 4 hours reading briefs I don't get a lunch but I apparently always have time to pick your dirty boxers off the floor and make sure there are clean towels…"
Alicia had been going full steam and Will hadn't been sure how to react but he couldn't help feeling a little lost and attacked.
"Well excuse me, maybe you'd be happier if me and my boxers weren't here!" Will had yelled it right back at her and stomped off to the bedroom.
Alicia had followed him into the bedroom and slammed the door shut behind her.
"Oh that's great, Will, run away at the first sign of conflict, heaven forbid you actually talk about a problem!"
Will yanked open the bathroom door, "I've told you before if you have a problem to tell me, you don't need to attack me the minute I walk in the door, I had court this morning too, I worked on briefs as well, and then I had an hour of physical therapy after all that so excuse me for needing a few moments after walking in the door and being yelled at by my wife!"
By now the two stood face to face, both fuming, and true to Alicia and Will within seconds the two were locked in a passionate embrace
Later as the two lay tangled on their bed with their hands intertwined Alicia looked over at Will,
"I lost my case, somehow I keep losing to Cary… I'm sorry I yelled at you. I would miss you and your boxers very much if you weren't here" Alicia reached up to place a kiss on his cheek.
"I'm sorry that you keep getting stuck on the Cary cases, I'll try to make sure that we try to split them up a little more, and I'll make sure I pick up my boxers and put them in the dirty clothes." Will made a criss cross motion across his chest, "cross my heart"
Alicia giggled and then sighed, "I forgot how hard it is to live with someone. What are we going to have for dinner?"
"If it helps I haven't lived with anyone since I lived with my sisters and mom before college, but I'm getting the hang of this, just give me a little more time. And do we have Grace tonight?"
"No, Grace has bible study and then her and Connor are going to the movies."
"Well in that case how about you order Chinese and we stay right here and watch a movie?"
Will had to admit, makeup sex was definitely a plus side to married life,
"Will? Will?!"
"Huh?"
"I asked if you were going to be home for dinner."
"I think so, I have a few things to wrap up before I leave but I should finish it up in the next hour."
Alicia blew him a kiss as he turned to leave.
"See you at home" With a wink Will left Alicia's office.
Alicia had thought she knew what it was like to be married, but being married to Will was a whole other ball game.
In fact nothing would top the day she had walked into their apartment to find Will dancing around dressed in only his dress shirt and dress socks. When she entered he had turned and motioned to her join him. She remembered the chorus of the Tegan and Sara song that had played and together they had danced around the living room and laughed.
It was a weird feeling to be that free and open with someone besides her kids, she could only hope that it stayed that way for a whole lot longer.
