Hey everyone, I have finished this chapter and Jason is finally off my back about it.

Jason: Took you long enough, at least it's a decent sized chapter,

Anyways, I decided to cut off a part of this chapter to start the ninth chapter. R&R, PM, and hope you enjoy!

Chapter 8

(Jason's POV)

As we walked in, Nurse Joy noticed us and said, "Back so soon?"

"Yeah," I replied, "we just need to get our Pokemon healed and get something to eat, then it's off to Route 30." We handed her Monarch's and Lucy's pokeballs and she placed them in a machine. They began to glow with the same green light that I saw in the incubator, and Nurse Joy told us there was a cafeteria on the basement floor. "Basement floor?" I asked. Nurse Joy pointed to a set of stairs that went down.

"Those stairs lead to our cafeteria and, once we finish construction, our battle facility."

"Battle facility?" I asked again.

Nurse Joy giggled, "It's a place where trainers can practice their battling skills, and it's fully equipped with healing items." I was imagining how it would look. Four gym-type battle fields, cylindrical containment units with a rotating axis, filled to the brim with Potions, Full Heals, Revival Herbs.

Janice snapped her fingers in front of me and I was brought out of my daydream. "Are you coming or not?"

I laughed sheepishly, "Yeah, sorry. Had my mind on other things." I ran to the stairs, Janice following close behind. We caught up with Memma, and we all arrived at the cafeteria. The cafeteria was very large, the walls made of stone and mortar, painted with pictures of Johto Pokemon. We all walked over to a buffet line, containing all sorts of food that made my mouth water. We grabbed our food, Memma mentally telling me not to go overboard, and paid for what we got.

We sat at a round table and a cylinder popped up. I looked under the table and saw it was connected to the stand, then looked back up to see words flashing on the screen, "Please deposit 10 Pokeyen for each Pokemon." I took out 40 Pokeyen in coins, and inserted them into a slot. New words flashed on the screen, "Please select Pokemon's type, then pressed enter", and a set of buttons came out from behind a panel. There were seventeen buttons, each with a different symbol. I pressed a button with a flame on it, and the "ENTER" button lit up. I pressed it, and I could hear an odd noise coming from inside the cylinder. It sounded like grinding egg shells as well as clinking and clanking. Once the noise stopped, a bag came out of the top, marked with a fire symbol. I took it and opened it, pouring out pellets.

"That's Pokemon food!" Janice exclaimed. I took out Typhon's pokeball, and let him out. Typhon sneezed a little, his back only flaring up half an inch, a sign his sneezing had cleared up a bit, and gave him some of the food. He sniffed it, and ate a few pellets. He paused for a moment, then began twirling around.

"Uh, Typhon? You okay?"

I'm better than okay, Daddy! It's like I've tasted a little bit of heaven itself. I smiled and noticed the machine was still flashing. I tapped more buttons, making more Pokemon food for Lucy, Monarch, and Sting. We let out our Pokemon, and gave them their respective Pokemon food. They each gave reactions of content and happiness, so the Pokemon food must have been specially designed to taste good to the Pokemon's type. We ate our food, Memma and I giving the most reactions having never tasted anything like this before. The machine was still active, asking for more Pokeyen. I got an idea in my head and took out 10 more Pokeyen.

"What are you getting now?" Janice asked. I tapped the buttons for Grass and Psychic, and waited for the bag. Once it came out, I took the bag and placed it in my pack. "Which Pokemon is that for?" Janice asked.

I hesitated for a moment, then said, "It's for later." She bought it and I returned Monarch and Sting, deciding to keep Typhon out since his sneezing had almost completely gone down. We left the Pokemon Center and made our way to Route 30. Before we could walk very far into the route, Janice's Poke-gear began to ring. She took it out and pressed a button. I looked over her shoulder and saw Professor Elm on the screen.

"Janice, glad I could reach you. Listen, if you haven't already passed it, could you go to Mr. Pokemon's house on Route 30? He has something for me and I need you to pick it up for me."

Janice nodded, "Will do sir," and closed her Poke-Gear.

"Who's Mr. Pokemon, and how did Professor Elm get into your Pokegear?"

Janice laughed like I said a joke and said, "First of all, Professor Elm wasn't in my Pokegear, we were talking through the video phone app. As for Mr. Pokemon, I heard he's an assistant to Professor Elm who makes several claims about new discoveries." I was a bit surprised at both pieces of information, and immediately pulled out my Pokegear. I saw three icons; the first was what Janice called a phone, the second was a flag, and the third was a clock. I touched the phone icon and a blank page came up.

"Oh, I guess we should exchange phone numbers," Janice said. She took my Pokegear, as well as her own, and tapped the bottom screens a few times. She gave my Pokegear back to me and said, "Okay, now you have my number. I'll explain how to use it once we get to Violet City, but we should go see Mr. Pokemon first."

I nodded and Memma said, "Well, in that case I'll head back to the Pokemon Center. Just remember to pick me up after." After she left, we made our way through the tall grass. The route was quiet and peaceful, a small breeze blowing through. We walked past a lake and we noticed there was a house with a man standing outside. He was sitting at a table with several orange and white boxes on it.

He noticed us and said, "Excuse me, you wouldn't happen to be trainers, would you?" Janice and I nodded and he motioned for us to come over. I noticed there was a sign on the table that read, "Apricorn Boxes; carry your apricorns wherever you go! Trainers pay 100 Pokeyen!", and the man said, "Now as trainers of Johto, you will find trees along your way that will bear special fruits, such as the one next to my own house, called apricorns. These special fruits can be mixed to make drinks for Pokemon or hollowed out to make special pokeballs." I stepped over to the tree next to the man's house and noticed some green fruit growing. They were each about the size of a pokeball, and I grabbed one of them, plucking it out of the tree.

"All of those Apricorns are ripe right now," the man said, "so take as much as you like." Janice and I each took three, and the man placed them into two separate boxes. I dug out 200 Pokeyen and paid for the boxes.

We left, and Janice said, "You didn't have to pay for both of us, you know? I have money too."

"Then you can pay me back when we get to Violet City." Janice stopped in her tracks, and I smirked. She ran to try and catch up with me, when some of the tall grass to our right began to rustle. I concentrated and found an aura source nearby. It was small and yellow green in color, and shaped like a spider. Just as I thought, a Spinarak, a Poison- and Bug-type Pokemon, came out of the bushes.

It noticed us and said, "Spin?" (Who are you?)

Janice instantly freaked out; and I mean that in a very bad way. She screamed and then hid behind me, repeating "Icky bugs", over and over again.

I looked behind me and said flatly, "Please tell me this is just a reaction to your encounter with the Beedrill." Janice nodded her head wildly, and I sighed. 'Great,' I thought to myself, 'now she's afraid of bugs.' I turned to face the Spinarak, which still had its confused look. I stepped forward and knelt down on one knee.

"Hey little guy, what brings you out here?" I asked, trying to make it sound like I couldn't understand it.

"Spinarak, spi spin rak. Spin?" (I detected someone entering my territory. Are you the intruders?)

"Don't worry, we weren't here to cause trouble. We're just two trainers who are passing through. We mean no harm to you or the forest."

"Spina, rak rak spinarak." (I don't mind, but it's not me you should be worried about.)

Before I could ask, a long, spine chilling "Ari" filled the air around us. Janice stopped panicking, and crawled away from the grass.

"What was that?" she asked in a very timid voice.

"Trouble," was my only reply, pulling out the two pokeballs that held Monarch and Sting. Typhon hopped off my shoulder and his flames began to erupt. Out of the tall grass, several Ariados crawled towards us, hissing in anger.

"Ari, ariados ar aria. Ariados!" (You humans have invaded our territory. Leave now!)

"We mean no harm," I said, raising my hands in defense, "we were only passing through so we can get to Mr. Pokemon's house, then Violet City."

One of the Ariados jumped in front of me, and shouted, "Ariados! Ari ariados!" (Liar! You're trainers, who want to capture us and make us your slaves!) I knew some Pokemon didn't trust humans, but this was on a different level.

"We just want to pass through. Nothing else. Please." The Ariados in front of me squinted its eyes, then stepped aside. The others followed suit, and I nodded to Janice. I put Monarch's and Sting's pokeballs back into my pocket and picked up Typhon. We walked through the tall grass, careful of any other hiding Pokemon. Once we were past them, Janice let out the breath she was holding.

"That was a close one," she said. I nodded in agreement, and Janice stood up straight.

"Okay, let's head over to Mr. Pokemon's house and pick up what Professor Elm wanted us to get." Janice nodded and we raced through the field.

Okay, in my opinion, this was a good chapter. Also, I have a question to ask. In the next chapter, I want Jason to meet Professor Oak when they are at Mr. Pokemon's house, and I was wondering if I should have Jason and/or Janice recieve a Kanto starter and, if so, which ones. I would think Jason would get Bulbasaur and Janice would get Squirtle (which rounds out the type disadvantages), but I want a second opinion.

Jason: Oh, great. Another reason why this story gets postponed.

Oh come on, I just got Pokemon X, and I'm about to get Pokemon Y. I have been dying inside just waiting to play them!

Jason: Fine. But now I've got a question, will I be going to the other regions as well?

*Evil, knowing smile* Oh, I know the perfect way to end your story. As a matter of fact, I gave away a slight spoiler somewhere.

Jason: WHAT!?

R&R, PM, and Goodbye!

Jason: NOW WAIT A SEC- *cut off*
