Hey everyone, Madness King here with another new chapter for A Time Traveler's Destiny. Alright, so this chapter is more or less filler, since the team is now on Route 32, but Janice will learn a bit more about Jason. By the time they reach Ilex Forest, a lot more will be opened to her but not everything. Also, Wish counselor made the first guess at who the mystery child is, but unfortunately none of them were right. To make things easier, this chapter I will give you guys a hint: It has a type that is strong against Celebi. Next chapter, the child himself will be revealed in a super long chapter (about 4,000 words or so) that I hope you will all appreciate. Oh, and the list below is Jason's and Janice's team and their levels.
Typhon/Cyndaquil- Lv 13: Quick Attack, Flame Wheel, Flamethrower, Eruption

Chapter 15
(Jason's POV)
As we made our way down Route 32, Janice saw a river nearby with what appeared to be train tracks overhead. "That's the Magnet Train line," Janice explained. "It runs from Goldenrod City all the way to Saffron City in the Kanto region."
I was amazed by this information and telepathed to Meema, "Do you think we can go there someday?"
I could hear Meema telepathically laughing, "Of course, Jason. One day." I looked around and noticed Janice was nowhere to be seen.
"Hey Meema, where did Janice go?"
I heard a voice shout out, "Cannon ball!" and a large splash. Meema and I ran over to the river and saw a few ripples in the water, and then saw Janice surface and gasp for air. "Come on in," she called out, waving her hand over to us, "the water's fine!"
I smiled and went behind a bush. Since Meema didn't really pack any clothes for me, I quickly changed into my Celebi form and then changed into a new human appearance. This time, I was wearing light green swim trunks with a grass pattern. I pulled out the six Poke Balls that held my team out of my bag and decided we shouldn't be having all the fun. "Everyone come on out, too!" I shouted, tossing them into the air. All six Poke Balls opened to let out Typhon, Monarch, Sting, Blaster, Victor, and Ariana. We ran out towards the river and I shouted, "Here we come!"
Janice smiled and began swimming to shore as well. I stopped on my way down as she came out of the water. She was wearing a red and orange one piece swimsuit, which had a beach sunset pattern. I shook my head, trying to stop staring, and Janice called out her team of three: Lucy the Cyndaquil, Belle the Bulbasaur, and Mark the Mareep. I finally decided to race out to the water and Janice followed as well. I dove under the water and I opened my eyes. There were quite a few Pokemon that I recognized, including Qwilfish, Magikarp, and a few Goldeen. I turned and saw Janice had also dove under and was swimming next to me. She winked at me and I could feel myself begin to blush. I went up and gasped for air, and looked to the shore.
Meema was sitting at the edge of the shore, along with Typhon and Lucy, who seemed to be playing a game of tag. Victor and Ariana were near the shore as well, soaking their legs-or in Victor's case roots-in the water. Belle and Mark were asleep near Meema, Monarch and Sting were flying around, and Blaster was swimming in the water. All of a sudden Janice appeared in front of me and splashed me with some water. I retaliated by splashing her with some water as well and we began a water fight.
"Hey you kids!" We stopped and turned to see two fishermen at the docks, one of them yelling at us, "You're scaring the fish away, get outta the water!" Janice and I apologized as we swam towards a nearby dock and got out.
"You kids should learn some respect," the other fisherman said. Typhon and Lucy ran over to us and began running in between our legs, and the fisherman noticed them as well.
"Say, you're trainers, aren't ya?" We nodded yes and the fisherman looked to the other, "Whad'ya say Rob, fancy a battle against these two?"
"They riled up the fish, meaning they won't be bitin' for quite a while. I guess I'm in too."
I gave a sharp whistle and shouted to everyone, "We got a battle!" All our Pokemon stopped what they were doing and began rushing over to us. Once everyone was here, we looked to the fishermen, who seemed impressed.
"All right then," the first fisherman said, "My name's Jack, and this here is Rob. This'll be a tag-team battle, meaning it's the two of us against the two of you." I nodded in understanding and told Monarch he'd go first. Janice picked Belle and the fishermen pulled out their own Poke Balls.
"Come on out, Goldeen!"
"Let's go, Magikarp!"
The two Pokemon were released into the water and I decided to get some information on the two. I pointed it at the Goldeen first, a white and orange fish Pokemon, "Goldeen, the Goldfish Pokemon. Though it appears very elegant when swimming with its fins unfurled, it can jab powerfully with its horn."
That was good to know, and next I pointed it at the Magikarp, a reddish-orange fish Pokemon, "Magikarp, the Fish Pokemon. A Magikarp living for many years can leap a mountain using Splash. The move remains useless, though." I looked at the Magikarp as it splashed around, and figured something was up.
I saw Jack shake his head and shout, "Rob, are you still tryin' to win with a Magikarp? I told ya they're worthless until they evolve."
"Relax, I've been trainin' back home and he's just about ready." Jack shook his head again and the battle began.
"Monarch, use Confusion on Magikarp!"
"Belle, use your PoisonPowder on Goldeen!"
"Goldeen, use Supersonic on the Bulbasaur!"
"Magikarp, Tackle that Butterfree!"
Belle was able to shoot out a ball of poison spores at Goldeen, which arced over the Supersonic and both Pokemon were hit. The Goldeen got a visible purple tinge to it and Bulbasaur got swirls in its eyes as it began clumsily moving around. The Magikarp jumped out of the water but it was stopped by Monarch's Confusion, which sent it back into the water.
"Okay Monarch, now use Confusion on the Goldeen!"
"Magikarp, Tackle it again!"
"Goldeen, use Horn Attack!"
Monarch's eyes began glowing as it used Confusion on the Goldeen, picking it up into the air as it attempted to hit the confused Belle. The Magikarp leaped out of the water and tackled Monarch, hard, and Goldeen was able to slip out of the Confusion and back into the water.
"Belle, try to use Vine Whip on Magikarp." Belle was able to bring out its vines, but it began swinging them around wildly, hitting not only Magikarp but Monarch as well.
"Monarch, you okay?"
"Don't worry, I'm just fine."
"Okay then, use Confusion on Magikarp!"
"Goldeen, Horn Attack!"
"Magikarp, Tackle!"
As the Magikarp leaped out of the water, Butterfree used its Confusion attack to redirect its course and instead it hit the incoming Goldeen. Both of the Water-type Pokemon fell into the water, the Magikarp coming up fainted but the Goldeen still active.
"Belle, let's finish it off. Vine Whip!" Belle shook her head around, clearing her confusion up, and used her vines to attack the Goldeen and make it faint. Janice and I jumped into the air in success, our own Pokemon celebrating as well, and the two fishermen groaned.
"I told ya, Rob, wait until they evolve and then use 'em." Rob didn't seem to care and instead went back to fishing.
I turned to Janice and said, "Way to finish them off."
"I should be thanking you, after all you did most of the battling." I smiled and put my hands behind my head, and Janice smiled too. She then pushed me back into the water, and I yelled in surprise as I hit the water. The moment I went under I felt something pierce my skin. It felt sharp and hot, and I accidentally released what breath I had. I twisted around and saw a Qwilfish, a very mad one, and figured I must have landed on it by accident. It suddenly began attacking me again, spines extended, and I tried to get away.
The Qwilfish kept attacking, the spines piercing my skin and injecting the poison inside. My vision suddenly became blurry and I finally surfaced, gasping for air. Janice held out a hand for me, but I was so disoriented I missed it when I tried to grab it. I felt someone else grab my hand and pull me out of the water, and my mind started to go numb.
(Janice's POV)
Jason surfaced after quite some time, gasping for air. I saw a large amount of bubbles surface earlier, and thought something might be wrong. Once he did, I held out my hand but he swung at it aimlessly. One of the fishermen, Rob, came over and grabbed his hand, pulling him out with ease. I looked over him and saw he had cuts on his back.
"Qwilfish toxin," Rob said. "Hey Jack, toss me my bag, would ya?" Jack tossed over a small nylon bag and Rob caught it. He opened it and pulled out a small vial. He opened it and began applying drops of some clear liquid on the wounds, which made Jason cringe in pain. "Hold him down. This stings, but it works."
I put a hand at the top of his back, near the neck, and he continued to apply the liquid. Ms. Gilman came over and asked what happened, so I tried my best to explain. Rob asked me to help flip Jason over, which revealed more cuts on his chest and abdomen. He continued to pour some drops on the cuts, and Jason began calming down as he began finishing up.
Once he did, he capped the vial and said, "There, he should be fine. Just give him a minute and he'll wake up. Gonna have to patch up those cuts, though." Ms. Gilman thanked him and he went back over to his fishing spot. In almost no time, Jason was already waking up. I helped him up and Jason asked what happened.
"You were apparently poisoned by a Qwilfish. Luckily Rob had some sort of medicine for it." He looked over to the fisherman, who nodded at him, and Jason called out a thank you. "Come on, let's head back to shore." Jason was still a little wobbly, so I had to help him move across the dock and over to the shore. I set him down and told him that I'd find his clothes for him.
"No," he said, almost shouting it. "It's alright, I can get them later." Jason's Pokemon began to sit down next to him and I looked to Ms. Gilman.
"Uh, Ms. Gilman?" She looked at me and I continued, "Can I ask you something?" She nodded and I led her away from Jason, near the trees. I turned to her and asked, "Ms. Gilman, can I ask you something about Jason?" She hesitated for a moment but nodded. "It's just," I shook my head, trying to form the right words, "I know I asked this already but does Jason seem odd, other than the Qwilfish toxin?"
She looked back at Jason and she said, "No, I don't think so. Why?" I paused for another moment.
"It's just that...I've been noticing things about him that aren't exactly normal. Most trainers will usually battle Pokemon to capture them, but he seems to make friends with them the moment he meets them. Not only that, but it's almost like he can understand what they're saying." I definitely saw a reaction on her face, and I crossed my arms.
"Well," she said, trying to answer, "I...it...it's hard to explain." I raised an eyebrow as I waited for her to answer and she finally sighed in defeat. "Alright, you caught me." I waited for her answer, "Jason has a very rare gift. Do you know much about this region's history?" I shook my head no. History was probably my worst subject back in school.
"Well, according to history, about 2000 years ago, there was a time when Pokemon and humans walked side by side. There were no Poke Balls, as there was no need. During that time, a human would connect their heart to the heart of a Pokemon, which creates a bond that lasts for a lifetime. In some cases, their bonds were so close that they could detect the feelings of their Pokemon, and in rare cases speak to them."
"So, Jason has that ability?"
We both looked at Jason, who was putting on a long sleeved shirt, and Ms. Gilman replied, "I believe he does. That's why he's such good friends with his Pokemon." She laughed a bit, "He even says that Typhon calls him 'Daddy'. He was hatched from an egg, so I guess that makes sense."
I smiled, one minute I think I've figured him out, and the next thing I know he's got some big secret. I watched as he picked up Typhon and put him on his shoulder, some of his other Pokemon also trying to get some attention from him. I smiled and thought, 'One surprise after another.'
Alright, so I hoped you enjoyed this chapter to some degree, but like I said: Next chapter is when the real fun begins. Also, I've been thinking of doing a side story that's a crossover of this story and the 4th Pokemon movie. Continue guessing who the mystery child is and also give me some opinions on this side story. As always, R&R, PM, and I'll see you guys next time.
