Hey everybody. So first, I have some very exciting news. I have officially begun writing Chapter 21.

Jason: Okay, so what does that mean?

Celebi: You remember, Jason. The chapter in DarkFoxKit's story?

Jason: Oh, now I remember. Looks like you finally get to write my side of the story.

Yep, and for those of you who have just joined us and have absolutely no clue as to what's going on, here's a little summary. Sometime in the past, while DarkFoxKit was still writing "The Child of Mew", we were having a PM conversation about our stories when I had the brilliant idea for Celebi and Jason to go into the past as well, and then show their point of view during the war. However, I said that probably wouldn't happen until Ecruteak City. Well, in Chapter 21 Jason finally reaches Ecruteak and is going to face Morty. After that, it's going to get crazy.

Jason: Yeah, but right now I have problems of my own.

Oh, right. Jason's in Azalea, so let's see how this unfolds. As always, R&R, PM, and Enjoy!

Chapter 17

(Jason's POV)

After being admitted to leave, Typhon was awake and back on my shoulder. He was as depressed and anxious as I was. When I asked him what happened to the kid, he replied, "After you got hit, you fell and landed on your side. You looked like you were in pain, and I was scared of him. He walked over to you and knelt down in front of you. And then he spoke to me."

That caught my attention and Typhon continued, "He told me that when you woke up I was supposed to tell you 'We'll meet again.' I don't want to meet him again, Daddy." He began shaking and I took him off my shoulder, hugging him.

"Don't worry Typhon. Who knows how long that will be. And by that time, we'll be a lot stronger. You'll be a lot stronger." I felt Typhon hold on to me, his shaking hardly going down, and I hugged him back. All of a sudden, Typhon started to glow with a white light. I held him out and realized he was starting to evolve. He started to grow, but after only a few seconds he started to shrink back down. His glow faded and Typhon released a breath.

"Typhon, you were about to evolve. What happened?"

Typhon shook his head, "I don't want to evolve, not yet. Not until I'm stronger." I nodded in understanding, Meema did mention that Pokemon learn moves earlier if they don't evolve. That must be why Typhon didn't want to.

"Okay then, but we should at least find the Gym." Janice and I left the Pokemon Center, and we began searching for the Gym.

Unfortunately, many of the buildings looked the same so it was hard to find it. After a few minutes of searching, Janice tugged at my shirt and said, "Maybe we can ask him."

I looked to where she was pointing and saw a man sitting on the porch of his house. He sat in a rocking chair, moving it back and forth, and a large gray and black Pokemon was resting in front of the house in the grass. It had a long nose with what looked like tire treads running along its back and also had two tusks.

"Whoa, what kind of Pokemon is that?" I pulled out my Pokedex and pointed it at the Pokemon.

"Donphan, the Armor Pokemon and the evolved form of Phanpy. Donphan attack by curling up then rolling into its foe. It can blow apart a house in one hit."

"Wow," Janice said, overhearing the entry. I put away my Pokedex and we walked up to the man on the porch.

"Uh, excuse me?" I asked. The man stopped rocking his chair and looked in my direction. "Can you point us in the direction of the Gym?"

The man looked around and said, "You can find the Gym down that way." He pointed out the direction and said, "The Gym will have two statues in front of it. You can't miss it."

"Thanks."

"Jason?" I looked over to the Donphan, who had a single eye open. All of a sudden it curled up and began rolling straight for me. I screamed in fear and tried to run away as the Donphan jumped and uncurled. "Jason!"

I looked behind me just in time to see it body slam me into the ground, all 250 pounds crushing every bone in my body. "Jason! So glad to see you. Last I saw you were a baby."

My eyes opened with interest, when the man shouted, "Donatello, get off of him!" The Donphan, apparantly called Donatello, lifted its body off of me and I gasped for air. Janice helped me back up and the man said, "Sorry about that. I find it odd though, Donatello's barely moved an inch in years. After what happened he hasn't been the same."

"What do you mean?" Janice asked.

The man sighed, "You must be new here, so allow me to tell you a little story. About ten years ago, a man and a woman were travelling through the Ilex forest. They had a baby boy with them, and they were heading back to their home in Azalea when they were attacked by a swarm of Beedrill."

I began to get a weird feeling in my gut as he continued, "The man died first, but not before putting up a fight. The woman was killed next, but the child was thought to be spared. When people tried to find their bodies, the woman and the child were missing. Donatello here was the man's only Pokemon, and he was returned to his Poke Ball before the man was killed. Some say that the boy now lives in the forest, others say he was abducted by the Voice of the Forest itself."

"The Voice of the Forest?" Janice asked.

"Celebi," I answered. "It's said that it is a Pokemon able to travel through time." Janice was amazed, but I began to feel sick to my stomach. I ran off, Janice calling for me. I ran into an alley and watched her run past, losing me. I sighed, not wanting to deal with any of this pressure or attention. I made sure that she was gone and noticed one of the nearby buildings had two statues in front of it. I walked over to it, careful not to be seen by Janice, and entered the Gym.

Inside there were several trees and a grassy floor. It looked like a forest, but I could definitely see an arena. I walked over to one side of the arena and looked around, hearing something. Something jumped out of the trees and I looked to the other side of the arena. A young boy, probably a little older than I was, stood up. He wore a light green safari uniform that had several pockets and had short purple hair. In one hand he held a Butterfree net and he smiled at me.

"Welcome challenger," he said. "My name's Bugsy, and I'm a user of Bug-Type Pokemon. Mind telling me your name?"

"Jason."

"Jason what?" I hesitated, unsure if I should say my last name.

"Jason...Burkman."

"Burkman, huh?" Bugsy slung his net over his shoulder and scratched his head, thinking. "That name sounds familiar but I can't put my finger on it. Oh well, what's say we get this battle started?" I nodded and an official stepped forward.

"This will be an official Gym Battle between Leader Bugsy and the challenger Jason. Both Trainers are allowed to use three Pokemon each, and only the challenger may be allowed to substitute. Trainers, begin!"

"Alright, Spinarak go!" Bugsy threw out his first Poke Ball and the small spider Pokemon appeared.

"Alright then. Come on out, Ariana!" Ariana was released and Bugsy was surprised.

"Wow, you got a Spinarak too?"

I nodded and said, "Alright Ariana, ready?"

"Yes I am."

"Then use Night Shade!" Ariana lifted her head up and a dark energy was hot from her stinger, shocking the other Spinarak.

"Nice move, but you're going to have to do better than that. Use Leech Life, Spinarak!"

Bugsy's Spinarak began jumping over to Ariana and I called out, "Ariana, dodge and use Night Shade again!" Bugsy's Spinarak lunged for Ariana but she was quicker and dodged it just in time, shooting out the same energy.

"Spinarak, Scary Face!" The Spinarak lifted up its abdomen and showed the lines and spots that it had. However, they changed shape into an angry face, and Ariana almost stopped in her tracks. "Now use your own Night Shade attack!"

"Ariana, do the same!" Both Spinarak shot the dark energy at each other, but Bugsy's Spinarak was faster due to the Scary Face and it got the upper hand. Its Night Shade attack overpowered Ariana's attack and hit her. "Ariana, you good?"

"A little shook up but I can still keep going."

"Okay, use Night Shade!"

"Spinarak, do the same!"

The two shot out their attacks, which met at the center of the arena and I shouted, "Now jump!" Ariana jumped into the air and their attacks separated. I dodged the other Spinarak's Night Shade as Ariana readjusted her aim and her Night Shade struck the Spinarak from above. Their attacks stopped and Ariana landed, Bugsy's Spinarak knocked out.

"Spinarak is unable to battle, Ariana wins."

"Alright, way to go!" Ariana turned and smiled at me, and I pulled out her Poke Ball. "Return for now." She was returned and I looked over at Bugsy.

He was smiling and said, "Okay, now come on out Scyther!"

A large, mantis-like Pokemon with scythe like blades for arms appeared next, and it spread them out like a fighting pose, shouting, "Who is my opponent!?"

I took out the Pokedex and looked at its information: "Scyther, the Mantis Pokemon. The sharp scythes on its forearms become increasingly sharp by cutting through hard objects." I put the Pokedex away and pulled out Typhon's Poke Ball, letting him out. Bugsy was getting nervous now, since a Fire-type is stronger against a Bug-type.

"Alright Typhon, are you ready?"

"Yes!"

"Okay, then use Flame Wheel!"

"Scyther, X-Scissor!" Typhon curled into a ball and began to wrap himself in flames, and he sped towards the Scyther. Before he reached it, the Scyther crossed its blade arms to shield itslef. Once Typhon made contact with the blades, the Scyther pushed him back, uncrossing its arms like a pair of scissors. Typhon's Flame Wheel was broken and he was sent back to the other end of the field. "Nice job, Scyther."

"Thanks." Typhon got back up, shaking his head.

"Alright Typhon, now use Flamethrower!"

Typhon inhaled and shot out a massive stream of fire, and Bugsy called out, "Double Team!"

The Scyther began splitting itself into multiple copies, and Typhon was surrounded in no time. I had to think quick, and shouted, "Typhon, shoot a Flamethrower in the air!" He did so without question, and all the Scythers looked up at the pillar of fire. It wasn't high enough to reach the ceiling, but that wasn't the reason.

I scanned the copies of the Scyther, 'If I'm right, then one of them should...Bingo!' One of the Scyther was casting a shadow, the real Scyther.

"Right there, Flamethrower!" Typhon readjusted his aim and the Scyther had no time to dodge as the flames crashed down on it. The other copies disappeared and the real Scyther fell, burned badly.

"Scyther is unable to battle, Typhon wins." Bugsy returned his Scyther, and he looked to me.

"You're pretty good, Jason. But I still have one more Pokemon. Come on out, Pineco!" After Bugsy tossed out his third and final Poke Ball, the pine cone Pokemon was revealed.

I checked its data as well: "Pineco, the Bagworm Pokemon. It looks just like a pine cone. Its shell protects it from bird Pokemon that peck it by mistake." This Pokemon wasn't unfamiliar to me, I knew a few Pineco that lived in the forest while growing up.

"Alright Pineco," Bugsy said, driving the handle of his net into the ground, "let's show them what you're made of."

"Typhon, get ready."

"Right."

"Pineco, Rapid Spin!" Pineco began to spin on its flat tip and charged for Typhon.

"Typhon, Flame Wheel! Give it all you've got!" Typhon curled up again and began powering up its Flame Wheel. Once the Pineco was at a good distance, Typhon raced forward. He left a trail of flames in his wake and the two spinning Pokemon collided. There wasn't much contest as Typhon began to slowly push the Pineco away. Eventually it gave out and was sent back, fainted.

"Pineco is unable to battle, Typhon wins which means that the challenger is victorious." I cheered as Typhon returned to me and jumped into my arms, thankfully without the flames.

"You did it Typhon!"

"Was there ever any doubt?" I laughed and Typhon began to glow again. Once again, he grew, shrank, and stopped glowing, this time panting.

"Typhon, you're going to evolve eventually. Why not now?" Typhon didn't respond, and I understood. He went back on my shoulder and Bugsy approached me.

"Well, you beat me fair and square. So I present to you the Hive Badge." He held out his hand to reveal the badge, which looked like a Ledyba's back. I placed it into my badge case and thanked him for the match.

"No problem." All of a sudden, there was a ringing sound coming from the back of the arena and Bugsy said, "That's for me. I'll see you around!" He left and I decided we should do the same.

(Bugsy's POV)

I went into my office to answer the email. Although it sounded like a telephone, I managed to create an alarm that notified me when I received an email from one of the other Gym Leaders, the Elite Four, or the champion, Lance. I went into my office and went to my computer. I accessed the inbox and looked at the email. It was from Falkner, and I opened it.

He asked how I was doing and if I had been in any recent battles. As I read on, however, he seemed to be talking more seriously. When it came to the end, I gasped in realization.

'It can't be...'

I raced out of my office and out of the Gym, hoping to catch Jason before he left. I saw him near the center of town and I called out for him. He turned around and I stopped running.

I took a moment to catch my breath and said between breaths, "I just...received a message...from Falkner. Please...tell me...your last name." He didn't respond, and I shouted, "Tell me your last name!"

The others in town were looking at me, but I didn't care. They deserved to know.

"It's Gilman, isn't it? As in Janet Gilman, the one who died ten years ago." He looked frightened now, looking around. The other townsfolk were murmuring as we all waited for his answer.

But he didn't answer: he ran.

(Jason's POV)

I ran into Ilex Forest, scared and afraid like a wounded Pokemon. I could hear the townsfolk coming after me, and I had to get away. I ran deeper, deeper into the forest, until I came across a clearing. This was the same clearing where my journey began, and I found the steps that led up to my home. I climbed up to the top, using Psychic to remove the steps and took them with me. The moment I reached the top, I began to gasp for air. I could hear the townsfolk approaching and transformed into my Celebi form to better hide from them. I peered over the edge as I watched them pass by, some stopping to look around the clearing, but kept moving on.

Once they were gone, I transformed back and I laid down on my back. This was exactly the reason why I didn't want anyone to mention my last name. Too many questions, and not enough answers without letting them know I was raised by Celebi.

"Jason!" I looked back down at the forest floor and saw Janice walking around. She was looking around, cupping her hands around her mouth and calling out my name.

I dropped down behind her and covered her mouth before she screamed and I whispered, "Shh, its me. Jason."

Once she stopped I let go of her mouth and she whispered, "Jason, why did you run off?" I sighed, unable to answer her. "Jason, if you don't say anything I'll scream right now."

"Okay, okay, don't scream," I pleaded with her. I led her to the clearing and I began climbing up the same tree. Janice soon followed, moving slower than me, and once we reached te top she looked around. It wasn't much, just a wooden platform that was cut around the tree limbs with small boards that acted as railing to prevent me from falling off when I slept and a small sleeping mat made from leaves.

"What is this place?" Janice asked.

"It's my home," I replied. Janice looked at me and I continued, "I haven't been totally honest with you." We sat down and I began my story. "It's true, I am the boy that went missing ten years ago. My parents were killed by Beedrill, just like the old man said."

"So that's why the Donphan jumped on you."

I nodded, "It was my father's Pokemon. He died trying to protect my mother, trying to buy her time to reach Azalea. But it wasn't enough and she was killed as well. The Beedrill didn't bother with me for some reason, and I was left all alone."

"How did you survive out here? If you were a baby, then you probably wouldn't have survived for long."

I smiled and soon someone called out for me, "Jason!"

I turned around to see two of the Butterfree triplets flying towards me. They landed next to me and I said to Janice, "The Pokemon took me in. They helped me to survive."

"What are you talking about Jason? Celebi is your Meema."

"Just play along for now." More Pokemon began to appear, Pineco, the Beedrill twin, and more.

"They took me in as one of their own." Janice looked around at the other Pokemon and I pulled out Monarch and Sting's Poke Balls. I let them out and said, "It's also where I got these two."

The triplets and twins, reunited, began to talk about their journey so far, and Janice asked, "But what about speaking English? Where did you learn that?"

I laughed a little, "You didn't think I spent all my time here, did you? I would listen to other people talk and learn from them."

"And what about your mom?" I looked down, thinking about how I could explain her.

"She's a...foster parent, for a lack of a better term. When I was eight, she found me here in the forest and took me in. She also knew about my parents and their deaths, and to make me feel more comfortable she adopted my mother's name." I finished and Janice was silent. I felt like she didn't believe it, but she looked at me with a small smile.

"I guess that makes you much more interesting then." I mentally sighed, and she continued, "So what about the others? Bugsy and the rest of Azalea Town must be looking for you by now."

"Yeah, but we'll be moving on. I'd doubt they'd look beyond the forest, since they believe that I live in the forest. Plus," I looked to the other Pokemon, "I think we can take care of that easily." They all understood and they went away.

"Where are they going?" Janice asked.

"They're going to chase them back to Azalea."

In a few moments, a few screams were heard and Janice and I looked down to see a few of Azalea's residents running away. A few feet behind them, several angry Pokemon were chasing them away, including Sting and Monarch who were leading the charge. They kept a constant distance away from them, and Monarch and Sting flew back up to us.

"Okay, that should send them back to Azalea no problem," Monarch said.

"They'll chase them until they reach the gate to Azalea," Sting continued, "after that they'll stop and leave them alone."

I nodded to them and their siblings soon arrived as well. "Jason, its so glad to see you again. And we're sorry that you were put in tight spot like that."

"It's okay." Monarch and Sting looked to their siblings.

Monarch looked at me and said, "Jason, we know that we wanted to travel with you, but..."

"We have to go," Sting finished. I was a little surprised at this, but Sting continued on to say, "We enjoyed our journey with you, really we have, but I think it's time we said goodbye."

I was close to tears, but I nodded in understanding. I pulled out their Poke Balls and handed them to their owners. "Here, just in case." I could already see Monarch and Sting coming to tears, and they gave me a hug. I returned it before they let go, took their Poke Balls and said one final goodbye before leaving. I felt the tears beginning to fall and wiped them away as they disappeared from sight.

"Jason," Janice said. I looked to her and she continued, "I know it's tough, letting them go, but they're not going to forget you. They'd never forget you." I nodded, wiping away the last of the tears. She hugged me as well and it made me feel a little better. She released me from the hug and we made our way down the tree. After reaching the ground, we began making our way out of Ilex Forest.

'I can't keep her in the dark forever,' I thought to myself, 'about me, Meema, everything. Sooner or later she's going to find out. I'm not sure how long I can keep this up.'

There we go, that's another chapter finally finished. Monarch and Sting are no longer with Jason, but that doesn't mean we'll see the last of them. So until next chapter, R&R, PM, and I'll see you around.
