She sees a flawless glittering pool of water fed by a waterfall and ringed by stones. Through the crystal clear water, she can see a bottom of sand. The area outside the stones is covered is short, soft-looking grass spotted with bright colored flowers, a large patch almost dead center in front of the pool. The trees surrounding this sanctuary are all large and beautiful. Everything in the clearing had the distinct feeling of untainted life. Finally, she turns to Kai, who had along the way picked up a basket. "This place is BEAUTIFUL!" she exclaims, swiftly embracing him. Surprised, Kai can only reciprocate her action with a single arm. Catching herself, Jinora releases him and takes a step back, blushing from the contact. "So what's in there?" she asks, pointing at the mysterious basket.

Laughing, Kai sets it down and opens it. "Lunch," he states simply, unpacking a picnic cloth of a soft cream color, laying it out for them. Taking a seat, she watches as he unpacks some rolls, assorted fruits, and sugar buns. "I'll be honest, I had help setting this up," he admits, grimacing. At her confused look, he blushes and looks down. "I…sort of asked your mom for help." After a moment of silence, Jinora starts laughing. "Yeah, yeah. What can I say? I wanted an expert opinion."

"It's not that," she defends, wiping tears out of her eyes. "I'm laughing at the fact that that's why you've been so secretive the past few days and why you offered to help her with the shopping recently."

Finally, Kai joins in her laughter. "Yeah, I suppose it is sort of funny. Now come on. Let's eat," he finishes, waving toward the now fully laid out picnic. Sometime while she'd been laughing, he'd added two glasses and a couple of water skins to the setup. Scooting closer, she waits as he prepares a plate for her filled with her favorite fruits, a couple buns, and a roll. All the while, she can't help but admire this boy sitting in front of her.

To think, when we first met, he was a pickpocket on the run. And now? He's my boyfr- Her thoughts get interrupted on that track as she remembers her father's decision on this matter. Right. NO BOYFRIENDS. Sighing, she takes the plate Kai offers her.

"Something wrong?" he asks, worried. Did I do something wrong? he wonders.

Jinora shakes her head, forcing a smile. "It's nothing. I'm just blown away by how beautiful this place is," she says truthfully, looking around again. "How did you even find this place?"

"Well… I had some help," he explains, motioning over at the far edge of the clearing. Glancing over, Jinora gasps as she sees a large white wolf looking out from the forest in their direction. "One day, I was flying over when I noticed him looking up at me from that clearing we landed in earlier. On a hunch, I landed and followed him. He led me here," he finishes, motioning to the clearing. "I've noticed that it can't be seen from the air for some reason. I think he has something to do with it."

Glancing back at the forest, she sees the wolf has left. "Well then, I'm going to have to thank him the next time I see him." Laughing, she turns back to the food. "Well, let's eat!"

The next few minutes they spend quietly snacking on fruit and letting the atmosphere of the area wash over them, utterly at peace. After a few more minutes of silence, the first course dealt with, Kai stands and makes his way over the edge of the clearing, much to Jinora's confusion, only to return with a large tied sack. "What's that?" she asks.

Grinning, Kai begins to untie the bag. "Well, you didn't really think I would bring you somewhere like this with that beautiful pool and not go for a swim, did you?" Before she could argue that they didn't have any bathing suits, he cuts her off by pulling out a new one piece bathing suit in her size, along with shorts for him. Blushing again, he answers her unspoken question. "Your mom helped with this part, too."

Laughing, Jinora steps forward and takes the one-piece from him. "As you said, we can't really pass something like this up," she says before walking to the edge of the clearing and secreting herself in the trees. Kai follows suit, albeit in a different direction. After a minute or so, they both step forward out of the trees, both awestruck by what they see. Kai by the vision of the one-piece hugging Jinora's lithe form, Jinora by the muscles she didn't know Kai had. But pretty soon, they shake themselves out of it, carrying their normal clothes and setting them, folded, on the picnic blanket. They walk toward the water, casting side-long glances at each others' forms, unaware the other is doing the same.

Upon reaching the edge, their excitement gets the better of them, as they both jump onto rocks and immediately jump right in, Jinora gracefully diving in, making nary a wave, while Kai simply cannonballs in, more than making up for it. Jinora breaches the surface, enjoying the cool, refreshing water. "This place is simply amazing!" she exclaims. "This water is perfect."

Laughing, Kai smiles wide. "This place is always amazing. I think that wolf from before has something to do with it. This entire area is never too hot or too cold. Always perfect."

Laughing, he ducks under the water, swimming over to Jinora. Laughing, she submerges, meeting him halfway. Again, Kai finds himself struck by her beauty, more ephemeral now with her hair waving free in the water. She looks so beautiful, her hair flowing free nowadays. And again Jinora finds herself surprised by this boy floating before her. He's really grown strong and lean... Drifting closer, their eyes lid lightly, faces inches apart…

Suddenly, they both shoot for the surface, gasping for breath. After a few moments of drawing in air, they look at each other and laugh.

"Let's go back to shore," Jinora says. "I want some more of those buns." Laughing, they both swim to shore, shaking off water and sitting back on the blanket in their swimsuits. Passing out a couple of buns, Kai finds himself lost in thought, thinking about this girl before him. And, consequently, about the conversation he had with her father.
