Soon... So very, very soon...
*Author notices the readers and yelps in surprise* Oh, hey guys. *laughs nervously* I didn't see you there. Anyways, yes it is true: this story has reached almost 9K views. I figure many other stories recieve 100K views, but this *sniff* this is why I write these stories. I know, I've said it a thousand times, but knowing that you guys will keep coming back to read this story is just... *sniff sniff. Author bursts into tears of joy* I don't know of any way to thank you guys. Literally, this story is only 381 views behind A Pokemon's Destiny, and is close to becoming my most popular story. It's just so beautiful...
*author momentarily stops crying and straightens himself* Well I unfortunately have good news, bad news, and worse news. The good news is that I was able to finish this new chapter for you guys.
The bad news is that this chapter is a lot shorter than some of my recent ones, and that's because I haven't really been inspired lately and I also graduated from college (even though I still have four weeks left of Psychology and Sociology).
The worse news is that...I'm gonna have to take a break from writing. It has nothing to do with any of you readers, I swear-its just that, as I stated above, I've just been feeling uninspired, just like what happened around Chapter 10 of this story-I just suddenly lost all inspiration for the story and moved on to work on other stories. In this case, it's mostly my RWBY fanfic, SABL. But even then I'm still struggling to find the right words and I feel like I keep recycling the same phrases over and over again. So I just feel like I should step away from these stories for now and refresh my perspective on things.
Also, I want to play Alpha Sapphire more often. *in a sing-song voice* Nostalgia!
Anyways, as always, R&R, PM, and Enjoy!
Chapter 24
(Jason's POV)
I suddenly awoke and looked around, noticing I was sitting in front of the Ecruteak Gym. Typhon was asleep next to me but he too was already starting to wake up. "Urgh, Dad?" He shot up as well, looking around just like I did a few seconds ago. "We're...back?"
"I guess we are." I stood up and looked up at the gym. There was a sign that read "Closed" on the door, and all of the lights were off inside. "Come on," I said, looking back at Typhon. "Let's head back to the Pokemon Center. We need to talk with Meema."
Typhon agreed and we started to walk back to the Center. I began to think about all that had occurred while I was in the Ransei region from 2000 years ago and it wasn't long before questions began racing through my mind. 'Why was I sent back? Did Morty somehow know that I would be sent into the past? Why-No, how did Team Rocket even get the technology to go back in time? And Ash, how does he fit into all this? And Mew...she seemed nervous around Meema, and I've never seen Meema talk like that to anyone, not even me.'
We arrived at the center and I figured that now was the time to get some answers. I went back up to our room and opened the door, finding Meema and Janice already packing up.
"Back already?" Janice asked.
"Yeah, Morty was only accepting one on one battles, remember?" Janice made an "oh" face and then asked how it went.
"It wasn't easy," I said, moving over to my bunk. Meema had already gotten my bag packed up so I grabbed it and slung it over my shoulder. "His Gengar was really powerful." Janice smiled, zipping up her bag.
"Now I'm glad I chose not to challenge the league," Janice said, "I don't think any of my Pokemon could defeat him in their current state."
Meema finished packing her bag and said, "Alright, I'll go down and tell Nurse Joy that we're leaving. Jason, Janice, why don't you two explore for a while. This town has quite the history you know." Janice smiled and went ahead, but I stayed behind for a little while.
"Meema, when are we going to have the chance to talk again? I have so many questions and I don't know how long I can be patient with these."
Meema sighed, "I know, Jason. I can answer one or two questions right now, but I don't think Janice would like to be kept waiting."
I nodded, returning Typhon and beginning to think of my first question. "What were Team Rocket doing in the Ransei region? They were obviously not from that time, especially with all of the technology they had in their base, so my only thought is that somehow they came from our time and to the past."
Meema sighed, "I'm afraid that's my fault actually." I asked what she meant and she said, "When I left before we arrived at Azalea Town, I was checking on a disturbance that I felt coming from my territory, near the shrine in Ilex Forest. When I went to check I was...captured."
-Flashback, Celebi's POV-
I had just entered Ilex Forest and headed straight for the shrine. The moment we came out of Union Cave I could sense a presence coming from the forest, and I knew that whatever it was wasn't friendly. I saw the clearing up ahead where the shrine was located and I cautiously looked around.
'Nothing so far, but I can't let my guard down.' I circled the shrine and examined it. The shrine was completely made of stone, and moss grew all over it. I continued to search for any presence at all but the area seemed clear. I sighed in relief, but quickly moved out of the way when I heard a gun shot. The shrine was hit with some sort of net, and I looked to where it had come from. A human appeared, cursing as he saw I had dodged. I quickly flew away as he called out a Murkrow.
I looked over my shoulder as I flew to see the Murkrow following behind and slowly gaining. I twisted and fired Signal Beam at it, but it was able to dodge. It suddenly stalled and cawed as it fired a Night Shade attack from its mouth. The attack grazed by my head and I veered to the right in an attempt to lose it.
Unfortunately, when I made my turn I was hit by an electric type attack. I cried out in pain and lost some of my altitude, but I kept going. There was another gun shot and I twisted around to see another net heading straight for me. I tried to move out of the way but another Pokemon, a Scyther, suddenly flew in front of me and slashed at me.
I was badly injured from the hit and crashed to the ground as the two Pokemon surrounded me. I tried to get up, but I was too weak and fell back down.
"Good job you two," I heard someone say. I looked up to see a group of men and women approach me-all of them wearing black clothing with a red "R" on their chests-one man in particular kneeling down in front of and placing a restraining bolt on me. He picked me up, a greedy grin plastered on his face.
"Don't worry, you won't be hurt for now." I looked at him as he continued, "We just need a little something from you and then you'll be free to go."
-End Flashback-
"After that," Meema said, "I was taken to a hidden location by an Abra's Teleport. The scientists who recieved me began to perform experiments on me." She shuddered and tightly closed here eyes, holding onto her arms. "It was just horrible what they did. They scanned me, exposed me to Dark-type attacks, and-" I grabbed her shoulders and brought her out of those memories.
"But most of all, they found and copied the gene that allows me to time travel. I have no doubt that they used that to travel back in time and still have a record of it-they could even be working on creating a device that allows for time travel as well."
I didn't like the sound of that at all. If Damion knew about this and he could travel back in time, there'd be no telling what could happen. Meema was still shaking, and I decided to get her mind off the subject. I dug into my bag and pulled out the odd Poke Ball, the same one Brad used to try and catch Mew with.
"Meema, can you tell me what this is?" She stopped shivering and looked to the Poke Ball in my hands, but it seemed to frighten her even more than her memories of Team Rocket. "Meema?" She backed away from me, and I put it away in fear of what it could be. "It was the item Brock* used to try and catch Mew with. Please, Meema, can you tell me what it is?"
Meema seemed to calm down and replied, "It's a Master Ball." She looked at me with serious planted all over her face. "It is quite possibly the ultimate device for catching Pokemon in the wild. Once it captures a Pokemon, there is no chance of escape for the Pokemon inside. But to think that Team Rocket also had a Master Ball in their possession; it could mean that they have more of these somewhere else, or even blueprints to create more." I looked to Meema in worry.
"In that case," I said, shrinking the Master Ball, placing it into my pocket, and rummaging through my bag once again. I pulled out a Poke Ball and held it out to her, "I think you should let me capture you." Meema's worried look became mixed with confusion and I added, "I can't risk losing you. At least while you're captured, no one else can capture you even with a Master Ball."
Meema nodded with understanding and transformed back into her Celebi form. I held out the Poke Ball for her and she flew up to it, ready to be captured.
"Jason!" We gasped in surprise as we heard Janice's voice come from the hall, and Meema flew under the blankets of the bed. Janice looked through the doorway and I shrunk the Poke Ball into its portable size before turning to face her. "Come on, what's taking you so long? And where's your Mom?"
"Uh, she left a while ago. I had to come back and...grab something." I held up the empty Poke Ball in my hand and put on a weak smile, hoping she'd buy the lie.
She huffed and said, "Okay, but let's get going. There's so much I want to show you." I nodded, putting the empty Poke Ball into my pocket, and followed her lead.
*- *author begins laughing* I had to put that in, I'm sorry.
Anyways, with that done I also realized that I never really gave any sort of back story to the other OCs in this story: Janice, Will, Tyler, Damion (actually I'm working on his but it looks a little short), and anyone else that I may have forgotten.
So here's what I want to know from you: would you like me to give some background on these characters in the form of Author Notes prior to the beginning of the chapter or would you like me to devote entire chapters to their back stories? I feel that some of these I might not be able to write as much so I may cluster them together, but I want to know what you guys want. Leave a review, PM me, and I'll see you again next time. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to Super Training Latias.
