Alright everyone, this is a new chapter for A Time Traveler's Destiny! I know it's been long overdue, but I've been having a hard time keeping my thoughts in one place. I was able to put out a new chapter for Bryce's Kanto Adventure, and I hope to do more in the future. However, there are some stories that I need to put off until later, and for different reasons.

A Pokemon's Destiny Kanto is on hiatus because I am trying to rewrite the original, but I'm afraid even that is now on hiatus because I feel more inspired to write other stories. I'm having a bit of trouble finding the write words for Astral, even though I have it all written down in summary-right down to the end. Revival of the Krawl is similar, but I don't have it all written down. As for Pokemon Ancient Version, I'm still waiting for my friend who said he'd be working on some new Pokemon, although I may have to come up with more on my own.

Anyways, this also introduces a new OC (The new Mew, you should know this one-but don't spoil it!) along with a battle between Jason and our mystery trainer. As always, Enjoy!

Chapter 25

(Jason's POV)

After leaving the Pokemon Center, Janice directed me around the town until we came to two buildings. The first building was long, only one story tall, and although it looked old it seemed like it would have been significant many years ago. Behind the building was a large tower that seemed to catch the light from the sun and made itself glow with a soft orange light.

The second was a burned down tower, but seemed to have similarities to the first building. I couldn't help but stop as I sensed some kind of presence within both of the towers: a cluster of three large auras coming from the burned tower and a small, but still powerful, aura from the top of the other. Janice noticed I had stopped and asked if I had heard of the story about the towers.

When I shook my head no, she began to tell me the story: "There used to be two towers in this town: the Bell tower, which still stands, and the Tin tower, which is now burned down. According to the story, the tower caught on fire during a thunderstorm after a lightning bolt struck it. Three Pokemon were trapped inside and perished within before the rains extinguished the fire." Janice looked sad and I could understand: death, whether it was a human's or a Pokemon's, was nothing anyone would want to go through.

"But then, a Pokemon came from Bell tower. It circled the burned down tower and quelled the storm, and then gave the three Pokemon that perished new life. Many have speculated as to what the Pokemon were before this event, but now they are known as the Legendary Pokemon Raikou, Entei, and Suicune."

Meema had told me about those three, but she never really told me that much about them. Now that I knew this is what fate had befallen them, I felt kind of bad for them. At that moment, I sensed that the three large auras were beginning to move. "Is everything all right?" Janice asked.

I didn't respond at first, but shook my head and said, "It's probably nothing." Then the auras began to move faster. There were a few surprised screams and we turned around to see three beast-like Pokemon run out of the tower. Time seemed to slow down for a second and I was able to get a good look at them as they stopped in front of the tower. The first was mostly yellow with black markings on its legs and body; it had a long purple mane that seemed like it was being blown back by an unseen wind; it also had two very large incisors.

The second had reddish brown fur and had an iron ring around each of its legs that seemed like shackles; its mane looked more like smoke from a fire, as if the fur underneath was being constantly burned. As for the third, it was mostly a crystal blue with white diamond patterns on its body; its mane also looked like a cloud, and its twin tails flowed in front of it as if they were moving across waves. It also had a crest on its forehead in the shape of a hollow crystal.

"I can't believe it," Janice whispered, "Those are the Pokemon from the story. Raikou, Entei, and Suicune." The blue one, which I assumed was Suicune, noticed us, as did Raikou and Entei. Janice moved behind me, obviously intimidated by them, and they suddenly began to run straight at us. I stood my ground and grabbed Typhon's Poke Ball in case it turned into a fight. Once they got close enough I pulled it out and prepared to throw it, only for the three to split and run past us.

Raikou passed us first, being the fastest, followed by Entei and then Suicune; but just a moment after it passed us, Suicune stopped and looked back. I turned to face it and our eyes locked in place, as if we had begun a staring contest.

"We shall meet again, Child of Celebi," it said in a distinct feminine voice. I almost gasped when I heard the voice; it wasn't telepathic, but it was like I just knew what she wanted to say. After that, Suicune turned again and dashed away.

"Jason? Are you okay?"

I blinked a few times and I said, "Yeah, I'm fine." I looked at Janice and smiled, trying to reassure her, but she didn't seem convinced.

"It's you again." Upon hearing the voice both Janice and I jumped a little in surprise, turning around to see someone approaching us. I instantly recognized him as the one I had met in both Violet and Goldenrod City.

"You? Are you following me or something?" He chuckled at that, and admittedly it was an unnecessary accusation.

"No, I'm not following you. In fact, I believe you and I are doing the same thing: travelling across the Johto region to become stronger."

"Yeah, I guess. Are you doing Gym battles?"

He shook his head, "No, I'm afraid I'm just travelling, challenging strong opponents."

"Jason, you know him?"

"Sort of, we first met back in Violet City when I accidentally ran into him."

"Yes, quite literally and then again in Goldenrod."

"Yeah, again I'm sorry," I apologized.

"Like I said, it's no trouble. In fact I'm glad I met you, after witnessing the legendary Suicune stopping to look back at you." I really didn't think much of the encounter, save for when it spoke to me. "Either way, I see now that it acknowledged you as a strong trainer." I began to feel a sense of pride in myself, and thanked him.

"Then will you honor me with another Pokemon battle?" He pulled out a Poke Ball and I accepted. I grabbed Typhon's Poke Ball and called him out. "I see your starter has evolved." What he did next surprised me: he returned the Poke Ball to his belt and pulled out a new one, which was colored black and yellow; an Ultra Ball, Janice told me. "So I hope you won't mind if I use a stronger Pokemon?" I agreed, hoping for a good challenge from him.

"Very well. I choose you, Sseondeo!"

'Sseonde-what?'

After throwing the Ultra Ball, it opened with a flurry of thunderbolts and a large bird Pokemon was released. Both Janice and I couldn't believe what we were seeing. The Pokemon had mainly yellow feathers with black feathers on the back of its wings and inner tail feathers. Black rings encircled its eyes and it had a long, thin, light orange beak.

"Zaaap!" It screeched, its spiky feathers becoming ruffled and moving like electricity were coursing through them. I couldn't believe my own eyes: he had the legendary bird of thunder, Zapdos!

'Is it possible...that he's like me? Could he be the son of Zapdos?' I thought, looking to the boy as Zapdos lowered itself and hovered a few feet off the ground.

"I can see you're quite intimidated. Is it too much of a challenge for you?" I snapped out of my thoughts and looked to Typhon. He was also in awe of the legendary before him, but he turned to me with a sure look on his face. My worries were cleared up and I nodded to Typhon.

"No," I said to the trainer. "It's just the challenge we were looking for."

"Typhon, you are sure about this?"

"I am, Dad. After the battle with Darkrai in Slowpoke Well, I refuse to stand down to any Legendary. Just because they hold that title doesn't mean they're stronger than a regular Pokemon."

"Oh, is that so?" the Zapdos said, no doubt having heard his comment. "Then I'll have to show you exactly how strong I am."

The trainer smiled, "Our Pokemon are getting fired up for the battle. Are you ready?"

"Yes!" Typhon and I answered at the same time.

"Then the battle has begun. Sseondeo, Drill Peck!"

"Get out of the way with Quick Attack!"

The Zapdos flew into the air and, after circling around, began to dive towards Typhon while spinning around. Typhon, however, began to use Quick attack to dash around the area between us, making it hard for the electric bird to target him. "Now leap out of the way!" As Zapdos neared the ground, Typhon used Quick Attack to make a 180-degree turn and jump out of reach. "Yes."

"Recover!" I was almost surprised at his command, but instead of using the actual move it twisted it's body around, just barely avoiding the collision with the stone pavement. "And again!" The moment it twisted upright, Zapdos propelled itself forward, spinning faster than before and just barely grazing Typhon on the back. Typhon still cried out and stopped using Quick Attack, wincing from the pain as Zapdos flew up again and returned to his trainer's side.

"Was that strong enough for you?" The Zapdos taunted, and growled in anger.

"More than I expected, I'll admit," Typhon replied. "So I'll just have to crank up the heat."

I quickly rolled my eyes at Typhon's pun and called out, "Typhon, Flame Wheel!"

"Sseondeo, Agility!" As Typhon curled up and began his attack, the legendary bird began to fly all around, making extremely sharp turns.

"Now Typhon! Break out and use Flamethrower!" Typhon immediately stopped his attack, while also giving himself a little jump into the air, and-still turning like a wheel-fired the Flamethrower. The attack started near the top and as it was brought down the stream grew longer and longer, almost hitting Zapdos as it flew under the attack. Typhon landed and used Flamethrower again, this time landing a hit on Zapdos while it was starting to turn around.

"You hit me in the back!"

"So did you!" Typhon shouted back, indicating the graze mark on his back.

Zapdos glared at Typhon, and said back, "I did it under my trainer's command. You, on the other hand did so without."

"And what if I did?"

The two glared at each other until the trainer called out, "That's enough." Zapdos, Typhon, and I all looked at the trainer as he waved Zapdos down.

The electric bird looked between its trainer and Typhon, then gruffly said, "Next time." It flew down to its trainer's side, who pulled out it's Ultra Ball and returned it.

After doing so the trainer walked over to me and Typhon and said, "I must apologize for Sseondeo's behavior. He's proud, and I was afraid that he might use a powerful attack without a command."

"It's fine, although I would have liked to see how it turned out."

The trainer smiled and laughed, "Maybe another day."

He turned to leave, but I stopped him by grabbing his shoulder. "You could travel with us. I'd like to see what other Pokemon you have, and we'd be able to battle more often."

He gave me a smile but removed my hand. "I'm afraid not. I have to go my own way. Besides, you have to go to Olivine next, right? For your next gym battle?"

'Olivine? That's where Will said he'd be going next.' "Right. I guess have somewhere else to be?"

He nodded and he walked for a few more feet before stopping again. "One more thing," he said, pulling three Ultra Balls from his pocket. "Peurijyeo, Sseondeo, and Paieo."

'He said Sseondeo's name. Could that mean...?'

"Together, they are Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, respectively."*

'He has all three!?' He could definitely see my shocked face and he lifted his cap up just a little so I could see more of his face. He had piercing brown eyes and a smirk on his face.

"I hope one day I can battle you with all three." He turned, put the Ultra Balls back in his pocket, and began to walk away again.

I was at a complete loss for words, just who was this guy? Was he a child of Zapdos? Moltres? Articuno? All three?

I felt someone place their hand on my shoulder, making me jump a little. I saw it was Meema, back in her human form, and I relaxed a little. "Jason, is everything alright? I saw your battle with that boy, but you look like you've seen a ghost."

Typhon looked up at me from the ground, and I replied, "It's nothing to worry about right now. We can talk later. Right now, I know where we need to go for the next gym battle." Meema nodded in understanding and I pulled out my Poke-Gear out. After looking through it a few times I knew where everything was and switched to the map function.

"Our next stop," I said, tapping a red square that indicated a town, "Olivine City!"

(3rd Person POV)

Inside of Bell Tower, a small group of priests are singing a hymn. Their voices vary between tenor and baritone, but together their voices form what most would assume to be a lullaby. The priests are gathered around a short, but wide, circular pedestal, which is covered in sheets and blankets of red, orange, yellow and gold. They form a small mound in the center, which is also circular. The priests are also dressed in similar colors, most of them dressed in yellow, orange, and red, and one woman in gold. The hymn gradually stops and comes to a close.

As they begin to sing again, the mound of sheets and blankets begin to move, and the priests take notice, whispering and pointing. The woman in gold, who was seemingly asleep, opens her eyes and stands. The woman, who looks no older than 35, asks them all to leave and they obey. The woman approaches the pedestal, her bare footsteps echoing in the now silent room. A soft moan comes from the mound, which begins to move around.

"You're up early," the woman says. Some of the sheets and blankets fall off, with a single golden sheet draped over whoever lies underneath. Eventually, the sheet slowly comes off down the front and it is revealed to be a young girl underneath. Her eyes are still closed, as if only half-awake, but her hair seems like it had already been brushed and straightened. The color of her hair was reddish blonde, although with the light coming through the open windows it seemed more like her hair was made of gold.

As the sheet fell into her lap, she was revealed to be naked-hence the reason to why the woman told the priests to leave. When she opened her eyes, they were a dull green color, and she had to blink a few times before noticing the woman in front of her. "Good morning, mother."

The woman smiled, kneeling down to pick up a folded pile of clothes, "Good morning my child." She handed the girl the clothes, and she began to dress herself. "You are early waking up. You usually wake up much later than this."

As the girl continued to dress, she began to speak in a monotone voice, "I sensed a strong presence. A very strong one."

"So, you think it is time?"

"Yes mother," the girl said as she lowered herself from the pedestal. Her original clothes, which was a white dress with an image of a flame on one side that was tied at the waist with a brown strap, began to suddenly change with a glow of orange light. Once it died down, her new clothes consisted of an orange tank top and short-sleeve jacket, along with yellow shorts and sandals. Her hair was tied down at the shoulder in a ponytail and she also carried an orange drawstring bag.

"It is time for me to leave."

*Fun fact: Peurijyeo, Sseondeo, and Paieo are the South Korean names for Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres.
