Ladies and gentlemen! I am SO SORRY for keeping you all waiting! I have been so stuck on this chapter for a long time and I am happy to say that I am bringing you a new chapter. Let me tell you that this story is almost done. About one or two more chapters to go. I have not decided just yet. This chapter is short but it brings the story a little further.
Enjoy and thank you all for being so patient! :D
Marshall and Lily walked ahead of Ted, who was still grumbling over his stolen blueprints.
"Ted, who are you going to go to about stolen blueprints?" Marshall asked in an annoyed tone of voice. He was already cold, tired, and stressed out as it was and he did not need Ted adding onto all this.
"The police!" Ted declared angrily. His face lit up. "O-or I can sue!"
"Gimme a break..." Lily muttered under her breath before speaking more loudly. "Who are you going to sue? You still don't know who took them!"
Lily had a point. Who took them in the first place? Ted had no proof of who took it. Defeated, Ted remained silent.
"Greetings," said a robotic disembodied voice. "Welcome to my lair."
"You mean MY lair!" Ted shouted at the voice.
"Ted!" Screeched Lily. Ted shut his mouth.
"I am not sure how you all got in," Continued the voice, echoing through the halls. "But I am sure you are not getting out."
With that, all the exits clicked, locking the trio in. Ted rushed to an exit, pushing and pulling on the door, trying to open it only to find it would not budge. Marshall groaned.
"Seriously, dude?" He asked the voice. "We're cold, tired, and hungry, plus we're trying to find our friend Robin. Have you seen her?"
The voice was silent. Dr. Horrible did not know what to say. His mind was still fighting with itself. One half wanted to free Robin but the other half wanted to keep her hostage. "That's for me to know and for you to find out."
"Yup, he's got her," Ted concluded with his annoyed yet straight face.
"You don't know that!" The voice shouted in defense. "And how do you know I'm a he? I could be a she for all you know!"
"Listen here, buddy!" Lily shouted at the voice. "We are not in the mood to play any games with you here! Where is Robin Scherbatsky?"
Marshall and Ted stared at Lily in surprise. Lily was not going to take any funny business from this voice.
"Come and find her!" The voice said. Finally, it went silent.
Meanwhile, Dr. Horrible shut off his microphone with a grimace. He knew he was in trouble. Robin's friends were here and it meant he would have to face them. He would have to prepare for battle.
"They're not just Robin's friends," said a voice.
Dr. Horrible turned around and found himself, only in a suit and holding a glass of scotch on the rocks. "Who are you?"
"I'm you," The man said. "Barney Stinson, the man you created. Those people out there are your friends, too."
Dr. Horrible sneered at Barney. "Shows what you know!" He shouted at him.
"Look," Barney reasoned, taking a sip of his scotch. "You were lucky that you didn't get life in prison for what you did to Penny. You can stop all this now and walk away a free man. You can become Barney Stinson for good and Billy will be dead."
"But the world is a mess..." Dr. Horrible said in defense. "I want to rule it!"
"With no friends?" Asked Barney. Dr. Horrible's eyes widened. He remembered what a pariah he became after the death of Penny. here in New York he had Ted, Marshall, Lily, and...Robin...
"You're..." Dr. Horrible began to say until suddenly, Marshall burst in, tackled Dr. Horrible to the ground, and punched him, causing his goggles to fly off.
"Got ya now, Horrible!" Marshall whooped in victory.
Ted and Lily ran in and saw Marshall on top of Dr. Horrible.
"You got him!" Ted exclaimed happily.
However, Lily recognized the man on the ground. "Barney?"
