Chapter 4

Jay's Point of View

Pacing, that's what I was doing. Pacing the office, pacing back and forwards over and over again until Voight cracked.

"Halstead!" He roared.

"What?" I yelled in response.

"Cut it out. That isn't helping. If anything it is distracting me from what I am doing!" Voight scolded.

"And what are you doing Voight? It has been three days and we haven't found them. They could be…..what if…oh god….." I whispered as tears formed in my eyes.

Voight offered me a small smile as he approached me. He gently put his hand on my shoulders.

"Remember who we are looking for?" He asked.

I looked at him confused as he gestured for me to answer.

"Alex and Erin." I replied.

"Right. That's right. Now do you remember everything these two have been through? Together and alone?" He asked.

I nodded.

"Ok well then you should know that the two questions you were about to ask are not possibilities so don't think about them, don't dwell on them." He said as he released me.

Shockingly his little speech inspired me and I was able to focus.

"Ok so have we got anything new to go on?" I asked.

"There is the man I need." Voight smirked.

"We have the video evidence of the van that took them we are running the plates but I think we all know they are stolen. We are currently looking through every camera in the area to see if it pops up. It has a distinctive dent in the side so we hope that jogs someone's memory. In the meantime I am in my office running through everyone of Bunny's enemies in the hope one catches my eye." Voight told us.

"Halstead, Ruzek you two head out ask around the area see if anyone has seen that van." He added before returning to his office.

Ruzek and myself nodded and left immediately.

"Erin and Alex are tough they will be ok." Adam said as soon as we were in the car.

"I know Adam but how long can they hold out if there are being hurt." I mumbled.

"Longer than you think. Erin will never go down easy. We will find her before anything serious happens Jay and when we do she will pound on you so bad for doubting her!" Adam tried to assure me.

"Right now I want that nothing more." I said managing a small smile as we sped off.

Voight's Point of View

I stormed into my office, slammed the door, closed the blinds and did exactly what I had yelled at Jay for doing. I paced. There were so many scenarios running through my head it hurt. It hurt even more that it was my family involved. All I could think of was the worst possible case. If something happened them I would be lost, crushed and even worse so would Jay and their son. Not to mention new kid on the block Chase who had become a statue downstairs beside Platt.

Thankfully she seemed to take a shine to him and he was like her adopted son. I saw her force-feed him, threaten to throw him out if he didn't eat and even bring him a change of clothes. I was grateful she was looking out for him because when Alex was back she would kill me if anything happened.

So once I had run through every horrible image for the 1000th time in three days I sat down at my computer and brought up the list of suspects, all of who had a connection to Bunny.

I was in the middle of flicking through them when I got a call from Jay.

"Halstead tell me you got something?" I answered.

"We do, Firehouse 51 found the van burnt out." He told me.

"Do we have a location on where it came from?" I asked.

"We have a witness claims he saw it leave from a house on riverside. Said the men driving seemed to be arguing before crashing." Halstead told me.

"Were are the men now?" I cried.

"They through petrol over the van and burnt it out before talking off. We are asking around but haven't found anyone who seen them yet." He explained.

"They guy you have, this witness does he know the right house?" I questioned.

"You know the house?" I heard Halstead ask.

"Yeah I was behind them the whole time." I heard the man reply.

"Boss we have an address." Halstead replied.

"Text me, be there as soon as possible. Erin and Alex could be in there." I said as I ended the call.

Alex's Point of View

There was a loud bang followed by heavy footsteps as Bunny, my mom and me jumped awake.

"What was that?" I whispered.

"Maybe Neal is back?" Mom mumbled as she rubbed her busted lip.

"You ok?" I asked concerned.

She had got a slap for back chatting more than once. Neal wasn't exactly a doting father.

"Als I told you I'm fine. Besides its you we need to worry about." Mom replied.

"Mom I told you…" I began to say but the door flinging open stopped me…

Until next time ;-)
