There were a number of things that Belle honestly didn't realize she could do before she met the Dark One – mostly because she'd never been allowed, thanks to her royal status. Stupid things like dancing with a broom – or sweeping a room at all. Practical things like raising a garden. Amazing things… like falling in love. But there are other things – things that are almost as equally amazing as love – that Belle learns once she's alone. She can defeat a Yaoguai… and she can take care of herself.
The latter is an important, necessary lesson, but its price is steep.
