"Let's get on that plane shall we?" Owen asked looking back at his two ladies. It had taken them a while to say goodbye to the house. Cristina didn't want to admit it but it hurt to see someone else, even if it was Teddy, living in the home she had built for her and Olivia.

"Yeah. Let's go." Cristina said grabbing Livie's hand.

She still couldn't believe that all of this was happening. Only a couple of months ago she thought that she was only going to Boston for a weekend and nothing more. But that weekend turned out to be so much more than that. She was happy, of course, Owen was the love of her life after all, but giving up everything felt…. It felt like she had lost a big piece of her life even though she was building her new hospital in Seattle, she would miss Zurich. This city had given her shelter when she so desperately needed guidance. It was the place where her daughter was born and raised, it was the place where she had been happier than ever before. The only thing that had been missing all those years was Owen. But he was with her now.

"Cristina!" Meredith screamed when she spotted her friend coming through the gate. Zola, Bailey and Derek were standing next to her. The two friends fell into each other's arms.

"I've missed you Mer." Cristina said.

"Come on it hasn't been that long. We've had longer periods."

"I know. Still. I always miss you."

"I always miss you too." They smiled at each other and watched as Derek and Owen carried their bags to the car. Meredith had driven Owen's car so that they twice the space for all the luggage and passengers.

"Mom can I ride with Aunt Meredith and Uncle Derek?" Olivia asked excitedly. She had been very quiet during their flight and Cristina had suspected that she still wasn't quite okay with moving so she was happy to see that her daughter had finally found people who made her comfortable.

"Sure." She answered as she ruffled her hair.

"Okay so we'll meet up at the firehouse?" Derek asked.

"Yeah. See you there." Owen said as he got into the car. Cristina was sitting next to Owen and quietly stared out of the window.

"Everything alright?" He asked in a concerned voice.

"Yeah I'm fine." Cristina said with a broken smile dancing around her lips. Owen squeezed her hand.

"You can tell me, you know. I'm here for you."

"I know. Thank you."

Owen knew better than to dig any further so he decided to change the subject.

"Have you told Meredith?"

"Have I told Meredith what?"

"The baby."

"Oh that. I haven't actually. But I have a feeling Olivia might tell on us." She smiled.

"Why do you think that?"

"Because I haven't told her that she shouldn't tell anyone. So she probably thinks that Mer knows. I mean you thought so too."

"You always tell her everything first. So I figured…"

"I know. I just… I wanted to do it right this time. I wanted to make it… I don't know, special?"

"It was very special, thank you." He smiled and squeezed her hand again.

They were silent for the rest of the ride. But not an awkward kind of silent, a comfortable kind of silent. Like they didn't need words to know what the other one was thinking. Just sitting next to each other, holding hands. It was nice to be alone for once. Though they weren't alone. Cristina placed her free hand over her stomach absently. Owen had to smile at the tiny gesture.

"What?" She asked.´

"Your hand." He nodded towards her belly. Apparently Cristina hadn't noticed what she was doing.

"Oh. Yeah I don't know. That's just a reflex I guess…" She said shyly.

"I like it." He stated. "I can't wait until there's finally something to touch." He grinned.

"There is you know."

"But not that much. I mean you can't really tell just by looking at you." That was somewhat true. But if she was wearing tight clothes or if she was naked, you could definitely see the change in her body.

"So you're looking forward to the time when I'll be looking like a beached whale?" She said gritting her teeth.

"Absolutely. You're going to look gorgeous." He laughed, knowing how insecure she could be about her body.

"Well I'm glad at least one of us is going to enjoy this."

They were standing in the living room of the firehouse. It all looked so familiar and yet so different. Owen had redecorated, that was for sure. There was now a door between the living room and the bedroom and he had remodeled the empty space downstairs and turned it into a paradise for a little girl. Olivia was already down there with Zola and Bailey exploring her new room.

"So this is it." Derek said as he put down the last box.

"Thank you Derek." Cristina said.

"You're welcome. Well I'm going to grab my family now and go get some lunch. You guys wanna come?" He asked looking at Cristina and Owen.

"I'm hungry so why not." Owen stated.

"I think I'm gonna stay here and start unpacking." Meredith gave her a confused look. Cristina staying home unpacking boxes and setting up her apartment instead of eating? That was a first. But Mer caught Cristina's hint so she decided to stay too.

"You know what. Let the boys take the kids and you and I are going to start unpacking in peace."

"Sounds like a plan." Cristina smiled, glad that Meredith had understood.

"Okay. Call if you want us to bring some take out?"

"We will." Cristina said and gave Owen a quick peck on the lips. She knew that they had sensed that a twisted – sister – alone – time was scheduled so they probably wouldn't be back until later this evening.

When they heard the door close Meredith immediately turned around to Cristina who had started opening random boxes.

"You're not seriously unpacking."

"Yes. And no. We have to start at least something or Owen will me mad." She grinned. But it was fake and Meredith noticed. Of course she noticed. She always did.

"So are you finally going to tell me what's wrong?"

Cristina sighed. Yes, she was going to tell her. She needed her best friend now. Someone who understood. Someone who would support her and be honest.

"I'm pregnant." She just blurted out. Meredith's face went from shocked to a huge grin.

"I knew it." She smiled. Then she saw Cristina's eyes tearing up. "Wait – are we not happy about this?" She asked, her voice concerned again.

"No. We are happy. We are. It's just… It's like everything is happening all at once. It's like one moment I'm living my life and the next I'm pregnant, back together with my ex – husband and living halfway across the world and building my hospital from the ground. It's just…. A lot." She said tears running down her cheeks. Meredith pulled her into a hug and Cristina started to sob uncontrollably.

"It's okay. You'll be fine. Everything's going to be fine. It was fine with Olivia and it will be fine now. I promise. You're the strong one."

"I'm afraid Mer. I really am."

"I've heard that before." Meredith smirked.

"Huh?"

"Valentine's day. Valentine's Day ten years ago. Remember?"

"So you think it's going to be a Valentine's baby?" Meredith asked as they were lying in bed next to each other.

"Meredith. It's six pm. That would have to happen pretty fast."

"Still, maybe. That would be so cute."

Cristina was drawing circles on her belly, deep in her thoughts. Meredith was right, this baby could be here any minute. She still wasn't sure if she was happy that the whole pregnancy thing was finally over or scared of the part that comes after pregnancy is over.

"Have you decided on a name yet?"

"No… But Meredith is definitely going to be her middle name." She smiled. Her hand was still resting on her swollen belly. She could feel her daughter kicking against the palm of her hand. She still wasn't used to it.

"I feel honored."

"You should. I'm naming my kid after you. That's an honor." They both laughed.

They had been doing that for the past week, just sitting together in bed every night because there really wasn't much else they could do given Cristina's current state. They talked for hours on end, but Owen wasn't mentioned once. Which was odd, given that Meredith loved minding other people's businesses. It was almost ten pm when they decided that they were tired enough to switch off the light and only watch some TV.

Suddenly Cristina sat up and grabbed her stomach. Meredith, alarmed by the sudden movement, was sitting up straight right away.

"Cristina? Are you okay?"

"I'm not sure. It hurts… But in a different way than the last couple of days. This can't be normal I…" She gasped, pressing her hands on the sides of her belly.

"What?"

"I think I'm having contractions." Meredith looked at her best friend in disbelief.

"Maybe it's going to be a Valentine's baby after all." She grinned. Cristina did the best to hide her pain but another contraction hit her and she couldn't hold back the tears.

"I'm afraid Mer. I really am." She said looking at her person with desperate eyes. Meredith had never seen her so vulnerable, so scared, so insecure. It wasn't a nice image.

"It'll be fine. You'll be fine. Come on, let's get you to a hospital."

"Okay."

"Okay."

"And it still took her over twenty – four hours to actually get here. Yeah I remember. Not the best twenty – six or what hours of my life. Man, she took her time."

"Well you refused to get a c – section. Blame yourself."

"It was worth it in the end though. And like you said, I'm the strong one. I didn't take the easy route like some other people." Cristina grinned.

"Hey! I was in labor too! I just didn't have a choice." Meredith elbowed her jokingly. They sighed. It was nice being together more often.

"You're having another baby."

"I'm having another baby."

"I'm proud of you Cristina Yang." Meredith pulled her into a hug again. She knew that Cristina was scared. But as she had learned, it was good to be scared. It meant you still had something to lose.
