A/N: I'm terribly sorry for keeping y'all waiting for this long, but I finally found time to finish this story.

"Good night honey, sleep tight." Cristina kissed her daughter on the forehead and switched off the light. They had been back in Seattle for quite some time now and Olivia had started middle school a few months ago. As far as they could tell, she liked it and had not too many problems adjusting to the different culture and school system.

"Is she asleep?" Owen asked as Cristina appeared in the living room upstairs. They had decided that they would finally use the downstairs part of the firehouse for something else than just storage. There were now three separate rooms downstairs and there was a door between Cristina and Owen's bedroom and the living room/kitchen area upstairs. All in all, it had turned out pretty well.

"Yes." Cristina sighed and sat down next to Owen who was reading the some kind of magazine. "God, I'm exhausted. I really don't remember being this tired at the end of the day when I had Olivia." Owen just looked at her with a smirk on his lips. He had gotten used to Cristina complaining about everything and everyone every day. He had heard the "I'm so damn tired" speech a billion times before so it didn't really bother him anymore.

"What?" Her eyes narrowed.

"Nothing…"

"Why are you smiling? You have no idea how much energy it takes to grow a baby and build a hospital at the same time. I have a right to be exhausted."

"Yes, dear. You absolutely do." He answered a little mocking. What he just didn't want to tell her was, that she was in fact ten years older than when she had had Olivia so it was naturally harder on her body. But he knew better than to tell her that. So he just agreed with her and smiled.

"Anyway, I'm going to bed now. If you need me, I'll be asleep. Don't wake me. I have to get up early tomorrow." She said, giving up interrogating him. He didn't answer but turned back to reading a seemingly captivating article.

She took the lack of a response as acknowledgement and headed to the bedroom. She slid off her robe and pulled back the covers. She slightly felt the baby kick and smiled to herself. For some reason it made her feel comfortable. Sure, at some times it was distracting but secretly, because she would never admit it to anyone, not even Owen, she enjoyed knowing that her baby was alive and well. She put one hand on the side of her belly and climbed into bed.

Despite her tiredness, she couldn't seem to fall asleep. Something, she wasn't sure what, kept her awake. She just stared at the ceiling and began to think about the past few months, about her life, and how it was about to change in a couple of months. It had been the right decision, moving to Seattle, she knew that, but sometimes she thought about how much easier her life would be if Owen had never found out about Olivia. But was easier really the right word? Would it be "easier"? She would still be alone with Livvie, and no matter how good the schedule she had worked out had been, being a single mother was and would never have been easy. She had to admit that Owen was a great father, not that she had ever had any doubts as to that, and a great help when it came to everything related to domesticity.

Also, it was nice to fall asleep and wake up in someone else's arms every day (well almost every day, since they were on opposite schedules from time to time). Being with Owen again had filled a void in her heart that she hadn't realized existed, or at least wasn't that big. She had always loved Owen and would always do so. Love was the whole reason she had tried to let go, tried to protect him, let him be happy, even if it meant that she would consequently be alone. All her life, she had gotten used to the idea of being alone, so it seemed impossible for that concept to ever be overthrown but now she was everything but. In fact, right now she couldn't even use the bathroom without someone constantly being there with her. Her mind drifted back to her son or daughter (Owen wanted it to be a surprise) and she thought of how they would handle a newborn and her being at the hospital so much. She had told Owen that she didn't want to, and definitely couldn't, take her full maternity leave and much to her surprise, Owen wasn't all that pissed. He had told her that he would happily stay at home with the baby until he or she was old enough to be put into daycare at Grey – Sloan Memorial.

What made her feel more comfortable with being a slightly older mother, was that Meredith, who had mocked her on previous occasions about being in her forties and having a baby, had announced to them a couple of weeks ago that she was pregnant too, and Cristina couldn't help but make a snarky remark about "old" mothers. Even though both pregnancies weren't completely risk-free, Meredith's was actually classified as high – risk, given her history and due to the fact that her uterus was and would always be hostile. Meredith, the hopeless pessimist when it came to life itself, was worried. Very worried. But that was the reason she was married to Derek who didn't waste a thought on all the possible bad outcomes and only ensured his wife that everything would be fine and they would have a healthy baby.

So there they were, both oddly domestic and not necessarily unhappy. Sure they both craved the smell of the OR and wouldn't give that up even for a second, but being at home with their families had its perks too. Coming to think of it, her life was everything but bad. She had a loving partner, a beautiful daughter and another child on the way and her own hospital that was pretty much up and running. Yes, she thought, her life right now was actually pretty good.

Cristina was cooking dinner (cooking was a little bit of a euphemism since it was only pasta but still) as Olivia finished her homework on the dining room table. Usually, Cristina would have her go to her room to do her school work but right now she felt like she could use some company. She was due any day now and Owen had been working a lot lately so they hadn't properly seen eachother in quite some time.

Suddenly Cristina felt a sharp pain across her abdomen and she dropped the spoon she was holding in her hand. Olivia looked up, alarmed by the noise of the metal hitting the floor.

"Mom? Everything alright?" She asked, a little concerned.

"Yeah. I'm fine. It's nothing I just – "She was silenced by another contraction. "Damn it." She cursed as she felt the warm water running down her pants.

"Mom?" Olivia asked again, not sure what to do.

"Olivia, would you please call 911." She managed to say through gritted teeth.

"Why? What's wrong?" Cristina could see the fear in her daughter's eyes and she realized that she had to explain the concept of childbirth to her.

"Nothing is wrong honey, I'm just having a baby and – "She was breathing through another contraction "that sucks." She finished. Olivia had already picked up the phone and called the ambulance which arrived within a matter of minutes, given the close proximity to the hospital.

Owen was already waiting for them when they arrived. As the door opened Olivia jumped out and ran directly into her father's arms. Owen scooped her up and held her close. He could see that she was scared.

"Everything will be fine Livvie, I promise. And you'll have a little sibling soon." He reassured her as they unloaded a gurney with Cristina on it. They wheeled her inside and Owen followed suit, Olivia still in his arms.

"I called Mer. She should be here soon and take her." Cristina told Owen. "You stay with her until she arrives okay? I don't want her with some random nurse. She's scared she needs someone she knows."

"But…" Owen started.

"Relax, that child is not going to pop out in five minutes. You won't miss anything except me cursing you for getting me into this mess." She tried to joke despite the pain that was shaking her body. Yet, she knew full well that it would only get worse. Much worse. And her daughter shouldn't see her like this.

"Okay. I'll be there as soon as I can." He promised her as they admitted her and transferred her up to Labor and Delivery.

Meredith arrived about half an hour later and took over Olivia so that Owen could be with Cristina. As he walked into the room, Cristina was standing on the side of the bed, holding onto it for dear life. He knew that she was in pain and the fact that he couldn't do anything about it upset him more than he would've liked.

It turned out that Cristina had been right and the baby took its sweet time although she was glad that only after four hours of labor, she was fully dilated and ready to push. With every contraction she squeezed her eyes shut and pushed as hard as she could. Given how long it had taken to deliver Olivia, she was glad that it didn't even take a full hour to introduce a healthy, dark haired, dark eyed, screaming but beautiful baby boy to the world. Owen proudly cut the cord and the crying infant was placed on Cristina's chest.

"Hello little one. Welcome to the world" She cooed, her voice sounding exhausted but happy nonetheless. The little boy's screams turned into whimpers and fully stopped after a while. Cristina stroke his cheek and Owen took in the sight in front of him. There he was, a father of two perfect children with the love of his life. A dream he had never even dared of hoping to come true. He couldn't suppress a tear that had built up in his eye. But he also didn't bother to wipe it off and he just stared at the beautiful picture in front of him, taking it in and promising himself to never forget it.

"So," He cleared his throat, "what should we name him?"

"I thought maybe Theo. You know because Teddy kind of made it possible for me to be here so I figured we owe her something. Plus, I like the sound of it. Theo. Fits for a kid and it'll still sound good when he's old and grey. What do you think?" Cristina asked, not breaking the gaze she shared with her newborn son.

"Yeah, Theo sounds perfect. Hello Theo." He whispered as he kissed his son's forehead and the baby blinked up at him approvingly.

A/N: So this is it. Again, I am so so sorry for keeping you waiting but at least I managed to finish it. There might be another sequel at some point (I already have a storyline) but definitely not right now. Anyway, I hope you liked it and LEAVE ONE FINAL REVIEW! Love, addie
