Hey! Sorry I haven't updated! I was out of town and I had a lot of homework. I know that's no excuse, but I do have other things going on in my life. Now, on to the story. But first, the disclaimer.
Disclaimer: I in no way, shape, or form, own anything nearly as awesome as Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, or any other thing that is awesome.
I turned to Percy. His mouth was hanging open and was gaping like a fish.
"Did I just see what I thought I saw?" he asked.
"If what you saw was our four new friends disappearing into thin air with sticks, or maybe wands, in their hands, then yes. That is what I saw," I replied, still completely astonished.
We got the mail in silence, both deep in thought. I thought about what we'd just seen. If we should say anything.
Percy said exactly what I was thinking. "Should we tell anyone?"
I made my decision. "No. Not until we talk to them. We should know the truth before we say anything."
"That makes sense. This is why you're the Wise Girl."
"We should head back. They'll be wondering where we've gone."
"Okay. Let's go."
5 minutes later, Percy was banging on the door. He'd forgotten his keys. After about a minute Thalia pulled the door open.
"Geez! Stop banging for one minute!" she yelled.
"Aww. That's the Thalia I know and love," Percy said. "Not love like I love you. Or like I love Mom. Like in a totally friend way," he hurriedly explained.
"I know what you meant Seaweed love her in a totally platonic way," I said, slightly exasperated.
Thalia stepped aside and let us in. I walked in and smell the most amazing thing I had smelled in ages. The aroma of tomatoes and meatballs and noodles filled my nose. I hadn't had any of Sally's cooking in almost a year. One cannot go that long without food like this. I had been deprived.
"Sally! You wouldn't believe how much I missed your food! It smells amazing!" I almost yelled.
"Well it's almost time for dinner. I need you guys to set the table though," Sally said sweetly, like she would to a daughter. It made me feel so appreciated. I was closer with my mom than I used to be, but not as close as Percy and Sally. Sally was like my second mom. Or maybe my third. My life is complex and the smell of food is getting to me.
I grabbed Percy's arm and pulled him towards the table. He grabbed Thalia's arm, who grabbed Connor's who grabbed Travis's. I pulled the chain to the table and started delegating. Connor and Travis put placemats out. Nico did napkins. Percy put out water and Thalia put out plates. I didn't trust any of them with knives at the moment. Even though I trust all of them with my life, they're all total klutzes. As soon as we finished, dinner was ready. We got in line to get our delicious spaghetti and meatballs.
We dug in immediately and for about five minutes no one spoke. Our mouths were never empty for more than two seconds. After we'd finally eaten enough to slightly satisfy our hungers, we started talking. Percy and I were caught up on camp gossip. We teased Travis about Katie. They obviously like each other. They're more oblivious the Percy and I. It's really, really sad.
Before I knew it, all the food was gone. Wow! That was a lot of food for nine people. Paul listened very intently to everything we said. He's always been fascinated by the godly world. He's like a kid in a candy shop. I was actually kinda funny.
Soon enough, everyone had to go back to camp.
"Why can't we go back to camp?" Percy whined.
"Because we have school, Seaweed Brain," I replied, slightly whining.
"Yeah, Kelp Head. You need to learn. Although, I'm not sure how much is actually absorbed by the seaweed up there," said Thalia teasingly. Percy lunged at her. He crossed the two and a half feet to find, a door. Percy ran straight into the door. Fuming, he turned back to me.
"I am going to kill her," Percy said through clenched teeth.
"You always want to kill her. But, she's your cousin. Whatcha gonna do about it?" I said, the last part with a horrible southern drawl.
Percy couldn't stay mad. He cracked up at my accent and corny smile.
"You do know you cannot do accents, right?"
"Sure chil," I said, switching to sound like an old black woman. ( AN: Black? African American? I'm not sure the correct term. Please tell me. Also chil is pronounced with a long i.) "You gots to hurry off to bed, now. You gots to get your beauty sleep." Percy was almost in tears at this. It's really fun to make him laugh.
"Okay, you have school in the morning," Sally said, trying and failing to resist the urge to laugh. I'm usually not funny, but to see both the Jackson's laughing made me start laughing. We were an odd sight. Paul walked in, yet again, to a strange sight in the living room. I guess he's used to it. When you have a demigod for a stepson you get used to unusual things.
Next Morning
I woke up slowly, wrapped in my boyfriend's arms. I laid there as he stirred. This is my home. But I had other things on my mind. I couldn't get the image of our four new friends disappearing out of my head. I was distracted all morning. Percy was kinda oblivious for a while, but got on fast enough.
"What's wrong Wise Girl?" he asked.
"I just can't stop thinking about how the Weasleys, Hermione, and Harry disappeared last night. Do you think they're children of Pluto or Hades?" I said quietly so Sally couldn't here.
"Possibly. That does seem to be the only logical explanation," he replied.
We continued getting ready and before I knew it, we were in the car driving to school.
"Should we talk to them today?" Percy asked as he pulled onto the road.
"What would we say?"
"I'm not sure. Why don't we think about it and talk to them after school?"
"That's actually had a good idea Seaweed Brain. I'll figure out what to say and we'll talk to them later."
We fell into a comfortable silence. Percy grabbed my hand and squeezed it. About fifteen minutes later Percy pulled into a parking spot. We walked hand-in-hand to our lockers, where we met everyone. They were talking adamantly about something. It seemed extremely controversial.
"What are you people talking about?" I asked.
"Alex reads the last sentence of books before he reads the rest of the book. I think it spoils the book, but Bennett, Ron, and Jack don't," Caroline said, clearly annoyed and thinking the others were wrong. The warning bell rings. We head towards homeroom, not wanting to be late. The 14 of us slid into our seats right as the bell rang. Mrs. Mulroney started talking and weirdly she sounded like the teacher from the Peanuts. I just couldn't focus. Our disappearing friends kept my mind pretty full.
I went through the motions for the rest of the day, trying to figure out what we were going to say. In gym the answer hit my like a rock. I hurriedly whispered the plan the Percy while we waited for everyone to finish running. Before I knew it, I was walking out of the changing room, ready to confront Harry, Hermione, and the Weasleys.
Percy and I walked out hand-in-hand, immediately spotting the very people we wanted to speak with. Before we could reach them, our path was cut off. You can probably guess who it was. The one, the only Maddie. I was seriously starting to hate that girl.
"Hey, Percy. How 'bout you, me, Friday night, my house. My parents are out of town for the weekend," she said, not even acknowledging the fact that my hand was intertwined with his.
"How many times do I have to tell you. I love Annabeth, and if it's not obvious," he said, holding up our hands, "we do not plan on breaking up for a long time, if ever." He looked over at me worriedly. I just smiled and pushed the point through.
"We love each other, and don't care what you say. You will not break us up."
She stomped off, and we burst into heaves of laughter. I quickly stopped when I remembered our original plan. I pulled Percy over to Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny.
"Hey, can we talk to you guys for a second?" I asked.
"Uhh . . . sure," Hermione said, seeming slightly nervous. I think she had an idea of what we were going to say.
"So, yesterday I saw something weird. I opened door to get det the mail with Percy and we saw something odd," I paused, letting my words sink in. Hermione whispered quickly to the others, and turned back to Percy and I.
"We are going to tell you what happened, but not here. Follow us," she said, spinning on her heel and walking away briskly. We stared in shock for a minute, then ran after her. Eventually, Hermione stopped in front of an apartment building.
"This is our flat building. We'll talk up there," Ginny said. None of them seemed very happy at the moment. After another tense 5 minutes we were in a closed apartment. It was beautiful.
"You can sit you know," Ron said as I stared at the architecture open-mouthed. Percy pulled me onto the couch and I broke out of my shock.
"So, last night you saw us disappear with wands in our hands. We have to explain," Hermione started. "At age 11 we were accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Yes, I am a witch and so is Ginny. Harry and Ron are wizards," Hermione told us how Harry was The Chosen One and how they defeated the most powerful wizard of all time, Lord Voldemort. I was completely shocked.
"So, you're saying that wizards are real?" Percy asked, making sure he had gotten the information correct. If I hadn't been so shocked, I would have been proud.
"That's right," Ginny answered.
"Well. I shouldn't be surprised. So much has happened to me, I've lost the ability to be surprised," he said.
"Percy!" I hissed. "Can I talk to you for a second?" I pulled him into the kitchen without waiting for his answer.
"What?" He whined.
"Should we tell them about us?" I hurriedly asked.
"Well, they told us their secret because they can trust us, so I think we should tell them because they've showed us we can trust them."
"That was actually smart, Seaweed Brain," I said teasingly.
"Hey! I'm smart! Sometimes….." Percy drifted off. We walked back in hand-in-hand. They were sitting around talking on the couch.
"Hey. Everything okay?" Harry asked.
"Yeah. But now we have to tell you guys something," I started. "We're not completely human either."
"What do you mean? Like your a centaur or something?" Ron asked kinda dumbly.
"No! Not like that. Our teacher is though," Percy butted in.
"So you know who the Greek gods are, right?" They all nodded. "Well they're real. All the myths are real."
"Wait, so what you're saying is you guys are children of Greek gods?" Hermione said, her voice jumping an octave.
"Yes. I am Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena."
"Wise Girl, give them your whole title!" Percy whined.
"Only if you do, Seaweed Brain," I replied.
"Fine."
"Okay, let me start again. I'm Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena, Head Counselor of Cabin 6, Hero of Olympus, Savior of Olympus, Architect of Olympus, Savior of the Master Bolt-" Thunder boomed. "Yes Zeus, we know. Now, where was I? Oh, right. Savior, of the Master Bolt, the Golden Fleece, Daedalus, and the Athena Parthenos," I finished. They stared at me, open mouthed. I waved my hand in front of their faces. "You guys okay?"
"Yeah, we will be. You have just done so much," Harry said. "And I thought I'd done a lot."
"Well, you haven't even heard half of it. Percy's done even more than me," I said, trying to be modest.
"Fine, here we go," Percy began. "I am Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, Head Counselor and currently only resident of Cabin 3, Hero of Olympus, Savior of Olympus, Savior of the Master Bolt-" thunder boomed, but Percy just kept talking. "- the Golden Fleece, Artemis, Daedalus, and Thanatos," Percy completed. Hermione's eyes got even bigger, if that was possible.
"So, what you're saying is, you guys have saved the world?" Ron clarified.
"Twice," Percy corrected.
"Wow," was all Ron could say in response.
"So, any questions?" I asked. They all shook their heads, even Percy. "Not you Seaweed Brain!" I said, slapping him upside the head. "One other thing," I began. "No one is to know about this. Got it? Good. One other thing. We think there are other demigods at Goode. Some of our friends. We'll tell you when we have more information."
"Yeah, of course. No promblemo," Ron said, standing up.
"Okay. Well, we'll be going now. See you tomorrow at school," Percy said, grabbing my hand and pulling me up. We walked out of their apartment, and before I knew it, I was breathing easier. A great weight had been lifted off my chest.
The next day I extra alert. I knew we had discover the demigods, and quick. I had my suspicions though. The evidence from the first day in English points to Bennett, Connor, Miranda, and Eric. I really hope we won't have to wait for a monster to attack to find them though.
It was nice outside, so the thirteen of us sat outside. Most of us sat around the base of this large oak tree in the courtyard, but Caroline, Miranda, and Shea had climbed up into it and was sitting about 15 feet above us. It was peaceful and relaxing. I had my head on Percy's lap, with him twisting the tendrils that fell in locks down my back. The day could not be better.
And then the perfection ended. A hellhound the size of a school bus jumped out from behind the building. It had shadow traveled of course, but that didn't matter at the moment. Bennett, Connor, Eric, Jack, and Alex scurried backwards and Shea, Miranda, and Caroline jumped down from their perches and ran away as the hellhound advanced on us. Ginny, Harry, Ron, and Hermione grabbed their the wands and advanced with us. I had grabbed my new knife from my leg and and Percy grabbed Riptide from his pocket. Well the wizards could obviously see this and it seemed everyone else could see it too.
The six of us advanced around it. The four wizards started shooting bolts of light, most likely spells, at the hellhound. Unfortunately, the spells just bounced off. Percy and I shared a look and I pulled on my trusty Yankees cap. Perce hates that hat when we're not in mortal danger, but now it's needed. The look is all we need to plan, though. We have fought together for so long that we know exactly how we'll react. I ran around back as Percy distracted its face. We stabbed it multiple times as the wizards continued to distract it.
Between the six of us we killed much faster than usual. I pulled my cap off as I ran into Percy's arms. We quickly kissed, then hugged the wizards. They seemed much more relieved than us to have killed this monster. They'd faced Lord Voldemort, the most evil wizard in the past five hundred years, but they didn't really understand the fear of being constantly in danger.
Our other eight friends were still staring at us open mouthed. I turned and addressed them.
"We have something to tell you guys," I began as I grabbed Percy's hand. "Percy and I are are children of the gods. And so are some of you."
Hi again! How's you like it? I just finished while watching Big Bang Theory. Anyway, one of my best friends in the world just joined F , so you should all go check her out. She's writing a Percy Jackson-Twilight crossover. Even if you aren't in love with Twilight, you should read it. I don't love Twilight by any means, but its an amazing story so far. She has two chapters that are both really great. Her name is PeridotPi and I know you'll all like it.
Anyway, I hope to post soon, since I am doing standardized testing which means no homework. I have to apologize though. I am not in love with this story, so I think I will wrap up the story nicely, then end it. I like writing one-shots better and I hope you guys will keep reading my work, only if it's just one-shots.
