Chapter 15: Attack of the Androids
At last. After three years of hard training, of pushing through the breaking point and beyond, the moment of truth was finally upon Earth.
Goku and Gohan were standing outside their oval white house in the mountains, their respective orange and purple Gis at full display. One could feel their nervousness but also excitement. They were Saiyans after all. Chichi walked out, saying goodbye to them. She wasn't going to fight, but at least she was ready against any bad scenario.
"Be careful both of you" The raven-haired woman simply said, hugging the two Saiyans.
Both Saiyans were flying through the sky beyond notch speed towards the island Trunks mentioned in his warning. The green Namekian Piccolo joined their flight, flying from his mountain range he normally lived in after some meditation before confronting the Android threat. Thankfully, training for three years with Super Saiyans brought him up to a decent plateau of power.
Minutes later, the three aliens were floating high above the city, looking from above to any threat. They had a few minutes left, but it was better to be save than sorry. As both Saiyans waited, sudden powers materialised out of thin-air next to them. A second later, the human fighters were in scene. They were all much more powerful than before thanks to the years of training with gravity and weights in King Kai's world.
"Hey guys. It's been a long time" Goku said smiling to his human friends. Their powers had suddenly increased. With the Kaioken in their hands they would all kick Frieza's family without even trying.
A sudden blur started moving towards them at great speed through the sky. The others recognised who it was without problem. The Saiyan Prince arrived in scene, dressed in a body armor that resembled his former Saiyan one when he worked for Frieza.
"Nice to see you showed up Vegeta" Goku said with a small smile.
"Don't get the wrong idea, Kakarot. I'm just here to not let a piece of garbage beat you before I can" The Prince said with a smirk, folding his arms on his chest. He had trained for this. He wasn't backing down. But apparently Kakarot and his brat were still stronger than him.
"That's all I can ask for" The palm-haired warrior joked with a smile, before diverting his eyes back into the scene below. A gushing noise arrived from behind too, a ship arriving.
"Hey guys" Bulma showed up with a new hair cut and small baby on arms with small lavender hair. He looked to be sleeping.
"Bulma, what are you doing here?" Gohan asked the scientist suddenly looking at the sleeping baby. Just as the Future Trunks said, Bulma got pregnant.
"Well Vegeta was supposed to bring me, but Sir 'Train-a-lot' seemed to be in a rush" The woman snickered to her mate, causing Vegeta to blushed his face and look away with his grumpy face. The others laughed by the apparent couple display "Anyway, I brought some Senzu Beans" The blue-haired woman handed the package to Krillin, who put it on his pocket.
"Hey Bulma, what's with the baby?" The bald monk asked, intrigued by the toddler "Is it yours Yamcha? Because you were training with us the whole time and I never saw you leaving"
"Bulma and I broke up long ago" The scarred bandit said with a gruff "You should ask her who's the father" The humans fighters looked at her, while the alien fighters kept their eyes away.
"It's a secret" The scientist said with wink of an eye.
"The father is Vegeta and his name is Trunks" Piccolo said without emotion, still looking down to the city.
"What? How did you know?" The scientist asked confused, the baby stirring.
"I read your mind" The green alien replied, Goku and Gohan silently laughing. The three of them already knew that information.
"That's very rude Piccolo. It was a surprise" Bulma reprimanded the Namek, who paid no mind.
"Bulma, not to be rude, but you must leave. We can't protect you and the baby at the same time we fight" Goku said serious towards his first friend.
"Fine. I wanted to see those Androids but if they are so deadly then I don't they will let me study them" The woman replied taking off back to Capsule Corp, leaving the fighters to do what they knew best.
While the fighter group gathered outside, another force was gathering. An old man was walking through his secret lab, just meters beneath the island city. His face was wrinkled and his former white hair was almost gone from his head. But instead of scalp, he only had a glass dome on his top head, revealing a human brain. With his new android body, Doctor Gero had finally achieved it. He had spent the last years working on them, updating and upgrading them up to the last measured strength of the strongest fighters of the planet. They were ready to kill and most of all, they could overkill. His machines were ready to be unleashed, cleansing the world for him to take over. But first and foremost, they had to do something even more important: destroy Goku!
There were two human-size capsules in front of him, each of them with a number. One 17, and other 18. For now, he would use these two to test the battlefield. With a grin on his face, he clicked the remote he had on his left hand. His right hand had another different remote. Just in case.
The capsules opened, leaving a small trace of smoke after being tight-locked for so long. One of the machines walked out, dressed in black shirt with an underneath long-sleeved white one and blue jeans. An orange bandana was around his neck. He had long black hair and light blue eyes. The RR symbol was on his left chest framed on his black shirt. He walked out of the 17 pod.
The other Android walked out of the 18 pod. She had long blonde hair, the same length and shape as 17. She had blue jean jacket, and black-stripped white clothes underneath that affirm to her petit body. Her legs were covered in stocking with brown boots at her feet, a blue skirt over her thighs. The back of her jacket had the RR insignia.
They looked like tween brothers.
"Now, my dear androids, it's time to claim vengeance over that miserable Saiyan called Goku!" The old man said proudly "Now arise!" The Androids moved a few feet forward almost like drones. The brilliant doctor got closer.
"17 can you hear me?" The doctor asked, testing the human senses the cyborg's had.
"Yes Doctor. I can hear you. I also you remember, you gave me life" The male responded with a brief smile, his tone a bit machine-like.
"Good, your brain is functional" The doctor smiled, turning his eyes into the pretty woman "How about you 18?"
"I am fine. How are you doctor?" The woman replied as 17 in a mechanical voice. Her eyes diverted into a fast stare into Doctor's hand. Two remotes. The sudden stare was undetected by the wrinkled science man.
"Good, your programming works just fine" The doctor smiled in pride. These two had been far too rebellious when human. But now machines, they were under his complete will and subordination.
Suddenly 18 grabbed his left hand, 17 from behind grabbing the right one. Doctor's late tardiness in respond caused the Androids to pull back, bisecting the Android's arms. Now 18 had one remote and 17 the other.
"No, you can't do that!" The old man yelled angry now without arms, but the blonde woman suddenly materialised in front of him smirking. Her punch was fired direct into Gero's nose, her concentrated superhuman strength beheading the scientist with no problem. The scientist's head rolled away, amazingly alive. He was an android after all.
"Bastards, you can't do this to your master!" The head yelled in anger. The blonde woman shoot an energy blast that shook the city above them, leaving the good old doctor to rest in Hell.
"Way to ruin the fun, sis" The male android said, easily shattering the remote control on his hand. They now acted more human and no longer drone-like.
"Like if you didn't want to do that" The female smirked in reply. He suddenly walked away through a corridor, leaving her brother to check the lab. Apparently they were in an old secret nuclear bunker, which explained the reinforced titanium walls and doors. No normal human could break through them.
"Hey 17, come look at this!" 18 yelled from the another side. Her brother flew towards there, looking at her sister. She apparently found a secret compartment, next to a giant super computer.
"What do we do about them?" The blonde woman asked, pointing towards the three other capsules in the secret room. They had different sizes, with a lower number than theirs printed on their surface.
"Let's wake them. They might know where Goku is" 17 suggested, touching her sister's remote's button. The capsules opened, allowing their siblings to stir up, finally awake.
"Kakarot, what are we waiting for?" Vegeta asked, his arms folded in impatience. The human fighters were looking around, trying to find anything out of the ordinary. But nothing. No screaming, no yelling. Maybe it was a lie.
"Calm down Vegeta. Not much time has passed so we shouldn't worry" Piccolo said now. They were eight fighters, and according to Trunks warning, only two androids. Even if one of them couldn't take the Androids alone then they would team up and defeat them easily.
"Guys, I think we are never going to feel them" Gohan said, sweat covering his brow.
"What do you mean with that brat?" The Saiyan prince asked.
"Well the androids are machines, so I doubt they even have ki to detect" The half Saiyan explained. The news surprised everyone.
"Gohan's right. They can already be attacking the city" The Namekian said realising the same.
"Guys, scatter and try to find them!" Goku ordered and everyone nodded, except for Vegeta. But before anyone did anything, the entire city started to light up with a yellow color. Until a second later ki erupted from beneath, the buildings and people disappearing in a storm of ki hellfire. The fighters covered themselves from the sudden backlash. As the light dimmed, only brown soil remained from the former beautiful city.
The smoke started rising towards the fighters, their sight covered and their senses on full alert. They couldn't see clearly, but they could feel their guts telling them that something was drawing near towards them.
"Look what we have here" A black-haired teenager boy floated up to meet the fighter group through the fog "Guess somebody was already expecting us"
"Then let's not disappoint" A blonde woman, almost identical to the kid said smiling with an icy face.
"Would you two shut up for just a second?" A gruffy voice appeared from the mist annoyed, another figure floating up along the Androids. He was a towering well-built man, slightly taller than Piccolo. His body was grey-skinned with his hair tied in a long pony tail, his face covered with a permanent frown. He wore green pants with a red belt framed with the RR insignia.
"Come on 14, they are just trying to amuse themselves like we all should do" A new high-pitched voice said funnily hovering with the others. He stood barely four or five feet tall, dressed in an orange suit with a big green hat on his head. His skin looked purple or simply dark, with sunglasses hiding his eyes. The red bow tie around his neck also had the RR banner.
"Enough stupidity fellows, we are here to fulfill the job we were programmed to do and terminate those city boys" Another voice said with an accent, still hiding in the shadows undetected by ki sensing "Of course having fun while we do it isn't exactly evil for anyone"
"You see, that's why you are the boss 13" The short android said towards the new comer.
"Maybe your boss, but I don't serve anyone" 17 said rebellious, folding his arms over his chest.
"Don't test me, boy. I'm not in the mood to stand your stupid insolence" The voice replied with a dark tone of threat. The android male surprisingly looked a bit put in place now. The imposing figure finally moved through the clouds, allowing the fighters to see him. The new comer had long grey hair, only a jacket covering his built upper body. Dark green pants covered the rest of his body, a hat on his head and his belt buckle with the RR insignia.
The five RR Androids were circling the Earth fighters, checking who to kill first.
"Goku, I think you said they were two androids" Krillin said to his friend, keeping his eyes on the pack of wolves surrounding the ship prey.
"That's what Trunks told me, but I never guess that there could be more" The Full-blooded Saiyan replied, trying to remain calmed. There was no way to say who was the strongest without feeling their energies.
"Fine by me" Vegeta smirked, his eyes concentrating. Less than a second later, he was a Super Saiyan, the power of years of training displayed finally "The more the merrier" He went after the also-blonde female Android, who was floating in front of him. Piccolo dropped his weights while Goku and Gohan ascended to Super Saiyan, a bit stronger than Vegeta and the humans prepared their Kaioken power-up.
This was it.
Notes from Chapter 15:
Gero's lab is now located beneath South City and not in the mountains.
The other humans now know how to use the Instant Transmission (Just to clarify)
Just to explain the timeline, Future Androids 18 and 17 destroyed 13, 14 and 15 before attacking Earth. In the present, however, they didn't.
16 was designed but Gero saw his 'mental flaw' for peace and destroyed him. However, he destroyed him after 16 helped him turn into an Android himself (I didn't think of putting this information on the story by the simple fact Gero doesn't go that far before dying and 16 just wasn't planned to appear).
Remember that Gero spied on the fighters with his camera robots, so he knew how powerful Goku and the others were (Not the humans because they were on another planet, but if a machine adapts against Goku then it can defeat anyone, don't you think?).
I repeat again, my power levels are my invention and have nothing to do with V-Jump (If you want to read my stories, you will have to forget V-Jump or other power sources exist).
