CHAPTER 22

I looked down at the blue arrow on my left arm and to the black metal wrapped around my right. I twirled my left hand causing a small whirlwind and did the same with my right using the metal.

"Three months since I was officially given the title of air bending master. Two since Toph told me I was a master earth bender." I though aloud.

"Yeah I know what you mean. Katara and Lord Zuko both told me I mastered fire and water." I looked over at my brother as he bent fire and water into a mini whirlpool.

"I'm glad we are done visiting the air temples but now I don't know what to do. Small jobs here and there working for Lin or Varrick aren't gonna do it anymore. I want something bigger to happen." I sighed and laid back looking at the metal forming itself back on my right arm.

Hinako stood up and walked over to the door.

"I'm starving and we still have a little bit of money left so let's go to Asami's restaurant." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a couple bills. I nodded and sat back up; as I stood the door swung open and hit Hinako in the face.

"OW! WHY IS IT ALWAYS THE FACE?" He shouted as he reeled back.

"That's because you stand in front of it like an idiot!" Rina laughed. "Now stop being a baby we're all going to Asami's place to eat."

"We were just about to head there as well what a coincidence." Hinako rubbed his cheek and jaw. "Maybe a fracture." He pouted as some water flowed out of one of our plants and began swirling around Hinako's cheek.

"Stop being a show off! Let's go." Rina grabbed his hand and ran out the door with him.

I could hear them as they ran down the hall.

"Just because Katara said that I'm one of the few people who can use bending to heal myself just by thinking about it doesn't mean I'm showing off." Hinako chuckled. "Hurry brother or we will leave you behind!"

I quickened my pace because they had done that to me before and left me to get myself across to the main land. I soon managed to overtake them and beat them to the plateau. I saw Jinora, Meelo, Ikki and Rohan all waiting on Oogi for us.

"Bringing everyone are we?" I said as I propelled myself up. I smiled at Jinora whose hair had started to grow back and was styled in a short pixie look.

"No my mom and dad are staying here but they wanted everyone out of the house." She groaned. "Hurrah for babysitting."

"Well Ikki and Meelo are old enough to take care of themselves but with Rohan not being a bender that means we do." I ruffled his hair.

"Hey I'm almost 13 so you have to stop treating me like a kid and I am an air bender. Grandma Katara said my bending just hasn't blossomed yet." He pouted.

"I know Rohan but for now you can't even protect yourself so we have too until you get your bending." I laid back onto something and was shocked by a meow and claw to the back of the head. "Oh sorry about that Shade I should have seen you." I looked at the full grown pygmy puma that stood at 3 feet tall at the shoulder and 4 from head to end of the two tails. I lifted her up and placed her on my chest. "You're getting pretty heavy you know that." I laughed as she clawed at me.

"I'd say she weighs close to 50 pounds now." Jinora said as everyone loaded up on Oogi and we took off. The trip was quick and when we landed we all hopped off. Jinora patted Oogi on the head. "Go ahead and head back we will find our own ride home." Oogi roared and took off heading back to Air Temple Island.

"So are we walking or what because that's all the way on the other side of town." Hinako sighed.

"Yeah we are walking we don't have enough money for this many taxis." I said coldly. "Unless you have some money hidden again." I said accusingly to which he sprinted out ahead.

"Yeah and? I thought we were always supposed to have extra money for emergencies." He laughed. "Well last one there pays for everyone." He turned to run and fell flat on his face.

"Oh always the face." I said as I bent back the step I place in front of him and jumped over him. Everyone just walked briskly as I raced my brother through the busy city streets. We barely managed to avoid running straight into a large panel of glass that was being carried out of a building.

"Hurry up slow poke and no more cheating." Hinako shouted as he passed me while we jumped over a food cart. I groaned and sped up; we were neck and neck as the restaurant came into sight. We made our way straight to the door and both collided with a side of the door frame and crashed into the floor.

"I win!" I shouted while throwing my hands up.

"From the looks of it the door frame won." I looked up at Asami laughing at us.

"Hey Asami tell your cooks that we brought 6 hungry benders." Hinako grinned. "Well Rohan makes 7 though."

I rolled over to see Shade in full sprint at us and I quickly got out of the way, Hinako on the other hand wasn't so lucky because he got 50 lbs. of pygmy puma to the back. He rolled on the ground and held his back as best as he could.

"And one very mean little kitty cat." He glared at Shade as she pranced about.

Jinora, Rina and everyone else arrived shortly after us and made their way to the table we usually sat at. They all greeted Asami with big hugs and smiles, especially Rohan. Asami ate with us and Meeks joined in too.

"Has our sparing has been any help yet?" I asked the non-bender.

"Yeah a couple of thugs tried to rob a shop while I was walking by and I took them out no problem. They were so scared when I dodged all of their attacks so they tried to fist fight me." Meeks laughed and threw a few punches. "Luckily the shop didn't take any damage and the owners got everything that was stolen back."

"And he slipped in right on time for work." Asami gave a knowing glare.

"You always know when I get into a fight." Meeks frowned.

"You wash the blood of in the bathroom sink Meeks I can always tell." Asami shook her head.

"Anyways Hinako have you master you bloody fire thing yet?" I could see the excitement on Meeks' face.

"My Devils Fire is completely under my control now and I've got blood bending down to where I don't have to move at all I just need to think about it." Hinako gleamed proudly.

"Now both of you are probably the strongest benders in Republic city, maybe even stronger than Korra." Meeks jumped out of his chair and spun around.

"We tested that already." I grimaced. "Separately we are about even but if she goes into the avatar state not even both of us can't beat her."

"No kidding I've still got nightmares from that training." Hinako shivered and went back to eating.

"So what are your plans now guys?" Asami rested her chin on her hands.

"Honestly I have no idea I think I'm just gonna go with the flow at this point." I smiled. "Whatever happens I know I'll be alright." I opened my arms. "Because I have all of you guys!"
