Another Path

The conclusion of the Saga is here. As I wrote in my previous chapter, we now go straight into Trunks' final encounter with the Androids immediately followed by the next Saga arc.

I'm rather surprised that I have finally reached half of the story but that's not here or there.

Enjoy!

Chapter 26: Other Threats

Trunks whirled around a typhoon of light, his time machine going through the dimensional shift back to his birth timeline. He knew he might not like what he could find but he was a fighter, he always had to endure no matter what.

In seconds or minutes, because that's how time worked in weird stances, the towering ship landed outside Future Capsule Corp. Though this one was half-standing with chunks of ceiling missing and the backyard blasted with smoking craters. The tall half Saiyan floated outside, feeling the energies around. His mother was inside and as strong as he remembered. Trunks sighed in relief, thankful that the Androids never reached their home.

"Mum!" The half Saiyan ran inside his home looking for his only relative. Going into the basement, the lavender-haired teenager found Bulma. She looked a bit like her past self, only difference in just the one or two wrinkles in her face.

"Trunks!" The blue-haired science woman said out-loud, hugging her son "It's good to have you back" She then back-stepped, shock written over her face. For some reason she now only reached up to his son's chest.

"My gosh, look at you! Did you eat ten Senzu Beans or something?" The future scientist said out-loud, looking at her now towering child. After two extra years of fast growth in the Time Chamber, the lavender-haired boy was standing almost an entire feet above his mother.

"No, but I trained two years in just two days inside a special room in the Lookout" The half Saiyan replied with excitement. The blue-haired scientist rubbed her head in confusion.

"You'll have to explain a bit more, son" The lavender-haired scientist said, hugging her son again "But it's good to have you back"

A few minutes later, Trunks had explained all the trouble he had gone through in his visit to the past.

"So this Cell guy absorbed three new androids?" Bulma asked a bit worried "Wow, I never thought that time traveling could cause so much changes" The scientist never wanted to mess with the time stream in the first place. But desperate times called for desperate measures. And living in an android Hell world was something very desperate.

"Don't worry mum. Goku and Gohan discovered how to beat him" Trunks explained "And it's thanks to them that I'm now even stronger than before"

Suddenly the radio came alive, the frantic voice of a man reporting.

"Breaking news! The Androids Seventeen and Eighteen are again spreading chaos on Parsley City" The man in the radio reported. Trunks clutched his hand with fury. He would no longer allow things to remain this way!

"Those bastards! It's time for them to pay back dearly for what they've done to us!" The Saiyan bellowed, his lavender eyes going bright green. The next second his body was one of a Super Saiyan, his golden hair spiking up and his aura engulfing his pumped up body. His golden ki was perfectly controled so to not hurt his mother, who covered her face from the amazing energy. She didn't know about energy sensing but she didn't need it to feel her son had made his powers skyrocketed since the last time he fought the androids.

"Just be careful son" Bulma said, still surprised by her son's transformation. Trunks gave her a thumb up before taking off into the air, ready to put an end to the chaos.

The two twin brothers from this timeline were again firing bolts of energy while people ran away in fear. Their sadistic laughter embed fear on the innocent people while explosions ran over the place. Buildings crumbled down to rubble and fire spread over the streets.

They were just like their past counterparts, except for the fact they were weaker. But of course they didn't know that little but decisive fact.

The twins had to quickly take flight so to dodge an incoming yellow beam of energy heading straight into the two of them. Had they paid more attention, they would have known the blast was being shot slowly on purpose.

"Who did that?!" The male cyborg yelled, landing on the floor with his sister, smoke from the explosion slowly banishing. The half Saiyan from this timeline landed in front of his two machine enemies, his golden body bulked up like a Super Saiyan though with the powers perfectly holded inside and without wasting them away like he had foolishly done against Super 13. Not that wasting energy would make the result of this battle any different.

"It's you" Future 17 said, suddenly surprised. The Saiyan frowned, his arms folding to his sides.

"The name's Trunks, monsters. And it ends now!" The golden fighter replied in a dark tone. He knew things could be changed, that was what his master Gohan tought him. And after seeing Gohan again in the past along with Goku, he realised it was true. There was always a way to come through.

"Really Trunks? Don't you remember the last kicking or you just got brain damage?" The adolescent machine commented with obvious sarcasm. Next to him, her sister was already impatient. Maybe she was on that day of the month. And with a killing Android, the consequences were even more uglier.

"Seventeen, let me kill him. He has annoyed us for far too long!" The blonde 18 of this timeline said completely pissed off.

"Yeah sure. But remember that it was you who killed our play toy" Her brother replied not caring, arms folded over his chest. This would be as easy as always.

The blonde cyborg smirked with malice, firing a purple blast into her golden-shinning enemy. Yet Trunks disappeared with an after image while the blast went into a building that exploded. The female android opened her eyes in shock, her golden enemy reappearing right behind her.

"Eighteen, behind you!" Her brother yelled but it was too late. Trunks fired a casual backhand, the sheer strength sending the female android careening away through buildings like a living rocket, her head almost cleaved off of her body. The blonde cyborg stood up, her face cut and her clothes covered in dirt.

"Bastard! You dirtied my new clothes!" The female android bellowed furious, shooting forward with the speed of a bullet into her opponent. Yet the Saiyan remained there unmoving. Just at the last second, he sidestepped the sloppy fist and grabbed her arm. It would be so easy to break it but Trunks repressed that thought for a bit longer. He then started spinning like a tornado. When enough momentum was reached, Trunks let go and 18 became a living projectile, impacting her twin brother beyond notch speed. The two machines went through buildings and rubble before stopping.

The twin cyborgs stood up with their clothes mildly tattered.

"Alright, he's got good" The black-haired cyborg confessed while rubbing his head "I don't know how but he did"

"You just got a lucky shot, punk!" Eighteen insulted, only digging her grave even deeper "You are just like the other weak insects all those years ago!" Trunks aura bursted in anger, almost sending the machines flying away by nothing but his ki alone.

"Fools, I saw you were exactly this way in the past. Just heartless machines, killing innocent people out of your sick pleasure. Do you think my friends enjoyed that? Do you think Gohan loved when you ganged up on him under the rain? Well no more. Not one death will go unaccounted!" The full-powered Super Saiyan declared, his aura only increasing his deadly tone "Not a single one!" The Super Saiyan bellowed, shooting like a golden rocket forward. Both twin androids aimed their hands and fired their energy blasts, all of them landing on the Saiyan. Yet Trunks kept forward, neither his skin or clothes burnt or marked by the weak blows.

In the split of a second, Trunks banished out of sight, reappearing suddenly behind Seventeen. The male had no time to detect him when the Super Saiyan clutched his enemy from the back of his head. The Android was effortlessly lifted and smashed head first into the concrete, spider webs of cracks spreading over the surface of the street.

Eighteen jumped away from the aftershocks, only realizing the place of her opponent when it was already too late to help her brother. She remained flying forward and started shooting purple blasts. But Trunks now chased her while spinning like a tornado. The beams landed on the living spinning, who got in range before she even knew it.

Trunks stopped his spinning and concentrated all the momentum he had gained into a fast light-speed roundhouse. The female never knew what hit her, her body perfectly bisected in the hip area. Her upper and lower body floated in apparent slow motion before exploding into dust.

Seventeen had recovered from the attack and stood up just in time to see how her twin sister was being bifurcated with an apparent low-powered kick. His bleeding face had the expression 'terror' written all over.

"Ho... how could you? 18, You..."Seventeen stammered, his human/machine brain not processing what had just happened. Trunks spun around, his emerald eyes glaring into his enemy.

"Killed her? Yes, and very exited about it. Her death is for the people of Earth and the other Z-fighters" The Super Saiyan said, his emerald eyes staring with a death sentence "And this will be for my master Gohan!" Before the machine had registered what happened, a sharp short gut fist had gone straight through his abdomen. Seventeen had no time to feel the agonizing pain before a yellow light engulfed his entire frame and vaporized him to dust and straight to Hell.

The half Saiyan sighed, his body receding to normal. He walked towards an old man trapped beneath his car. With no effort the demi alien lifted the car and took the injured man out.

Trunks then looked up into the sky, his white aura bursting as he shot into the distance.

There was only one thing left undone.

Just a minute later, the half Saiyan arrived to the island near South City. This was the place where the Androids first showed up almost twenty years ago. And in turn, so did Cell in the past. But not for too long. This time, things were going to be different.

Trunks bursted again into Super Saiyan his arms raised and summoning his devastating energies into one last attack. The island had been long ago depleted of people so any possibility of casualties was null. The Saiyan's ki starting forming a gigantic orange sphere above his head.

"Finish Buster!" The Saiyan enchanted, his orange sphere descending from the sky. Less than a few seconds later, the ki hit the Earth's surface, exploding into a rumbling nuke-like explosion with a concentrated power capable of destroying planets. The earth surface was atomized, tons of sea water turned into nothing but hot steam. The entire place was covered by a momentary typhoon.

Second later the disturbance was gone leaving nothing but plain sea with no trace of the Androids, Cell and the crazy doctor that tried to take over the world.

Trunks sighed in relief, his body back to lavender-haired.

"It's over" The demi alien exclaimed with a smile. The time traveler flew back to his home.

"Well, want to hear the good news?" Bulma asked her son with barely hidden mirth, a few hours after saving the future from the killing cyborgs and now both of them in the lab. Or what remained of it but they could rebuild it "The Androids are gone and people seem to cheer on the streets for their 'Golden Savior' " The Saiyan wanted to face-palm.

"Oh great" Trunks said exasperated, throwing his arms up in defeat. Instead of Androids now he was going to be ganged up by fans.

"Cheer up son. Now it will be easier for you to get a girlfriend" Bulma joked only making her son blush and wanting to crawl into a hole. The scientific female smirked before starting to place a few boxes back into their places. Her son helped her.

There was still something Trunks wanted to ask though.

"Mum, do you remember the gravity machine you built for Goku?" The half Saiyan asked.

"Yes, for his trip to Namek. I think the blueprints were destroyed but I still remember it" The science woman replied, looking at her son.

"Good, because I need you to build one" Trunks said, his tone serious. Bulma didn't need to over think things to know why her son wanted such a device. And with her genius intellect she could build it in no time.

Trunks stood up and knew this was it. The Android threat was gone but it was obvious that just as easily another one might show up out of the blue to spread chaos and destruction. But for all that Trunks was, he wasn't a coward. He would train and protect his home just like the Son family tought him long ago.

Cities might need to be rebuilt but the Saiyan was eager to help. Having powers was a real benefit for this.

Nice and easy and one step at the time, everything could slowly be brought back to normal.

"Entering Sector 2814, Milky Way galaxy, located. Planet Earth, located" The mechanical voice of a navigator computer said with monotony. The grunt alien on the controls suddenly ran away.

"My lord, we are getting closer to our destination" The foot soldier said towards his master. The lord didn't reply, simply moving away without a verbal response. His white cape bellowed behind his path, his mustache displaying over his lip. His right eye showcased his trademark black coloration while his other eye socket was fully closed with a red scar running on it. He had spiky hair and a set of armor covered by the white cape. His right hand carried some kind of golden jewelry framed with a shiny stone. He had a brown monkey tail around his waist, like many Saiyans used to do. Just what he was. His name was Paragus.

The former soldier of Planet Vegeta walked through hallways, thinking in the only one thing he had wanted: Revenge. The rightful payback he deserved for the misdeeds King Vegeta had done to him and his son.

He shook his head. His son. He at first thought the miserable king was just jealous of the baby's power. He only thought he ordered the child's murder out of despite. But he had lately realised just the same Vegeta did on that fateful occasion. That child was beyond anything possible. Beyond any method of control. Even the leash he had on him at the moment wouldn't last for too long. Broly's condition was just unfathomable, unrestrainable. And most of all, unbeatable.

The full-blooded Saiyan walked through a black metallic door, momentary glittering as he walked through. The room's light lighted up, showing the picture in front of him. The entire room and only that one particular from all the ship was completely indestructible. Paragus had ordered many crafters from other planets the room's design, which had a great amalgamation of the hardest materials in the universe. Or as hard as Paragus knew so far. He had tried to destroy it but his full power had not even dented it at all. Of course he needed it to contain the destructive power of a monstrous Super Saiyan.

The same strong material was made to create shackles attached to the wall. The unbreakable leashes gripped the two hands of a man. His body was lying on the ground, amazingly well-built for someone in his slave-like condition. His skin seemed paler than the average human skin and his hair was a black mess of long spikes that went down his shoulders. Resting on his forehead was a golden tiara, a sort of power crown to keep him in check and suppressed. His chest was fully revealed, only white pants with a red sash covering his legs and golden rings over his biceps.

His black eyes suddenly opened.

In less than a second, a giant aura bursted from his insides, a chilling-worth scream echoing through the hallways. The arms' muscles bulked, the golden bands on his biceps straining against a sudden pressure. His eyes and hair turned into a shade of neon blue with a different kind of Super Saiyan transformation. The scared Saiyan shot his right hand forward, his jewel shinning. The emerald on Broly's head shone in unison, suddenly calming the rage. The full-blooded Saiyan calmed his breath, suddenly going back into his induced sleep like if nothing had happened in the first place.

The Saiyan father sighed and walked away, clicking his earpiece.

"How is the Camori crystal doing?" The Saiyan asked to the other side of the link.

"We have managed to make it work, my lord. It's just a matter of days before New Planet Vegeta is hit at full force" The voice from the other side replied obediently.

The purple shard they have found had a connection of a sort with a distant comet in space called Camori and could attract him into it, no matter the distance in between the two. Whether it was by magic or some weird craft from an old alien race, Paragus didn't care. As long as the giant flying object arrived in time to destroy his enemy.

"Keep me updated" The scar Saiyan replied and finished the conversation. Now it was his time. His time not only to finally get his revenge from the Vegeta's family but also to get free of the burden of having Broly. His powers were just far to dangerous to exist. Even the room he built would succumb should his son unleash all of his true hidden powers.

And after so many years of forcefully suppressing the maniacal child, how much energy did he actually had in reserves?

Far too much for the sake of the universe, for sure.

Notes from Chapter 26:

The future Androids are weaker than their present counterparts.

Yes, now Trunks is the Golden Fighter from the future.

Trunks killed Seventeen like he killed Kogu in "Bojack Unbound" and he killed Eighteen like Gohan killed the Cell Jr in the Anime (Just to put some awesome deaths).

In this story, Paragus doesn't want to have Broly as his weapon.

Broly will be a bit more loony than the original one (He's a mad Saiyan treated like a slave, you think he's going to be rational?)

The room Broly is been held prisoner is made out of a metal combination, second in strength, to metal Katchin (But because there was never an official durability mentioned by Toriyama for this material, how durable it is can only be speculated)

Broly's power wasn't detected by the Z-fighter because it wasn't strong enough. And the power in this chapter it's not his real one (remember he's been forcefully repressed)

I don't know Paragus' power at the movie so I just invented one (And once you read it, you will see it's pretty much an ant compared to the other Fighters)

I don't know how the comet Camori and the purple crystal work so I just invented something.
