I knew he was lying. Marlene wouldn't have given up like, the way she had kept going on back in Boston with her voice so full of hope... It didn't seem like her.
I think he knew that I could I tell and was waiting to see if would accept it.
You know what? Joel stayed with me the entire way, even if he did almost dump me with Tommy. He's starting to truly care again and I think he wants me to stay. Someone cares enough to want me to hang around. So, I might as well accept it.
