Dragona wasn't to be taken lightly.

Everything was so... dark. Literally. Metallic, with shades of grey in every corner. You can see fire spewing from tubes, probably factories.

"What do they make that requires that much fire or fuel?" I ask.

"They put criminals there." Oh.

That's the nasty thing about Dragona, once you commit a crime and get caught, it all goes down from there. No courts, no hearing of sides, you go directly to the fire.

General Kim lives in a traditional New Asian temple, only like the rest of the country, it was all metal. I didn't see the colors of red, orange and yellow painted on them like the ones I see in history books.

I was literally walking into a living nightmare.

Poverty wasn't a problem in Dragona, but pollution was.

We are currently riding a jet plane, booming through the sound. Beside me were Jaydyn, Marcus, Portia and Toni who agreed to join in the rescue.

"For my fellow BETAs," he said.

The aircraft wasn't noisy when it landed, and it was easy to find a landing spot in which we weren't obvious. Our belts automatically unbuckled as we grab our guns. Along with our uniforms, we also had masks and helmets to avoid contamination.

We were divided into three support groups. I was with the OMEGAs, while my friends followed along with the few DELTAs and lastly the readily armed BETAs who were advancing inside right now.

My squad followed last. Apparently, they have done this several times before and know every inch of General Kim's palace.

Easy as pie.

One of the DELTAs, Flourine, had blocked the camera signals using this green laser that disconnects it from the control room, then we follow if the coast is clear.

The guards were dressed in a grey jumpsuit wearing a gas mask, which isn't necessary since the inside was really clean, they only had a pistol, but beside them were four foot long swords. That was our advantage with the guns.

We got close to the room where the captives were. The BETAs charged first, leaving us and the DELTAs to move forward inside the room.

"Wow," Marcus said. "That was really easy."

"Too easy," said General Ivy. Something must be wrong.

And before I could even take a step further, purple gas stars to fill the room. I hear my comrades drop on the floor, and soon my eyes begin to feel drowsy as I inhale the unknown powerful scent.

Maybe this is why the guards wore face masks.

It wasn't long until I drop and lose consciousness like the others. I tried to have one last look and saw the door in front of us open and several pairs of legs walk in. Then the whole world turned black.

I couldn't move. It was like I was chained down or pushed back by an unknown force. I slowly open my eyes and saw a long straircase leading to a throne.

"General Kim..." I heard General Ivy mutter.

"Ivana, it's you again," his accent lingers. "I see you've brought some new faces. The new ALPHA. Titania Rose, am I correct."

I snarl at him.

I looked around and saw that my hands were tied at the back and both my feet were chained as well as General Ivy's. The others were still unconscious and were put at the side.

"What do you want?" I said.

"I've heard about you... And not just about you being a soldier. I'm a fan of the Selection. Young, beautiful ladies lining up to be the next lover and queen of the next king. I used to pair you and Maxon before you left. I'm not joking," he told me.

"Sadly he chose the other girl, Kriss. She doesn't have depth, unlike you. You would make a much better queen."

"I'm over that," I spat.

"Oh I know, that's why I'm giving you a choice."

A choice?

"I know you are capable of so much more Titania. You would make a great soldier, better yet a great hero or maybe, a great general even."

He went down his throne and took several steps down his staircase, "Join us, Titania, and you an use your power to the limit. You don't have to be confined like what Ivana is doing to you. Your anger, your power, they can do much more incredible things. You can finally take charge. Prove others that you aren't weak anymore. Send a message to Illea even. A nuclear bomb would be good."

"That's not a soldier," I immediately said. "That's a monster. I'm not a monster. I'm a person. A person who had feelings and limitations. I don't keep grudges General Kim. I'd rather go rot and die than live in this hell hole."

He looked at me in disbelief, then cocked one brow. "You have just insulted the place I spent years working on, calling it a hell hole. Oh, you haven't known hell yet. Fine then Titania, show us what an ALPHA really is. At sundown, we battle. One on one, and you'll see..."

"You just paid yourself a one way ticket to death."
