A/N: Oh what is this? TWO CHAPPIES? I'm feeling inspired cuz school is almost over and we have an upcoming seminar and I'm excited! And maybe I won't be able to post on Wednesday because of the seminar, so I'll make sure I wrap this story up before that. YES IT"S ALMOST DONE. I know, it's only a few chapters, but remember: BOOK TWO~ Thanks for the continuous support ILYGSM!

Paparazzi before a death battle? Sure, why not?

While I was being armed, people were surrounding me. The BETAs serving as my guards blocked the flashing cameras and television reporters. General Kim broadcasted our whole conversation which sent the news lines on fire, desperately trying to talk to me, even though they know I don't understand a word they're saying. This time, I don't even care if the pictures of me come out bad.

As I placed my jacket back on, I grabbed my sword. The rules were simple: No guns, we can use our powers during the battle but if not we should use traditional weapons, so I grabbed the Reaper before I cut through the paparazzi.

The fight would be situated in General Kim's throne room. They said that's where he beheads those who do not see him as a true leader infront of their own parents, children, lover, and sometimes beheads them along too.

Blood was already spilt here, and I must make sure mine won't have to be next.

He was already there. He wasn't equipped with anything, which was suspicious. He saw me and smirked, "Let's begin."

I confidently said, "You blow first."

I was so wrong...

Scales started growing out of his skin. His eyes glowed yellow. He seemed to grow larger. No he IS growing larger.

I stare at him at awe and backed up a little until I was facing the wrath of a whole fire-breathing dragon. His snout opened.

Run.

Before the fire could touch me, I was able to avoid it and ran for cover. I was breathing quickly. A dragon?! What the hell. I don't know the first thing about fighting dragons. I didn't even know they exist.

He kept breathing fire as I kept changing pillars to hide from him. This is no use. I had a ninety percent chance of being burned alive tonight because of my cockiness.

"You can't hide forever Titania."

I decided to risk it all and charge. His tail whipped at me and I fall hitting my back. The pain quickly subsides as I try to stand again. I ran and ran, and kept falling down at the same time. I stabbed my sword on his tail but he reacts fast which sent me flying back and hitting the wall. I could feel several bones of my back crack.

It was like my whole body shut down. I couldn't move. I couldn't turn my head. All I could do was blink and stare.

"It's no use girl," he said. "Just give up, you cannot defeat me."

"No!" I couldn't get up anymore after the last blow.

"I could die in this very room right now, but I won't give up. I don't want to be known as the girl who died while giving up. I would rather die fighting than letting myself die. Than knowing I can't win."

I regain motion as I slowly prop myself up with my elbows. He laughed at me. "You're so weak. Maybe that's why he didn't choose you in the first place. Maybe that's why your family doesn't even try to find you anymore. You're a burden."

"You mean nothing to them or to this world."

That sentence echoed off in the sound. Time seemed to slow down much more. Is this really the end of me?

Everything suddenly came back to me. The happiest days of my childhood, when May was born, when I first performed on stage, when I met Aspen in the treehouse, when I signed up for the Selection, when Maxon first kissed me, when I was playing the piano with Marley, when I celebrated my 18th birthday in the palace. All of those memories were now behind the identity of America Singer. That's when I realized, I'm not a Singer anymore. I'm not in the damned Selection anymore. I'm not weak.

I'm not weak.

Because every rose has it's thorns...

My grip tightened and my pulse raced. My legs started to properly work again. "What did you say?"

"You heard me clearly Titania, you can die and no one will even care."

I caught him off guard and charged as fast as light. I moved like a feather with ease. I don't feel his tail whipping or his mouth breathing fire. His scales were now filled with gashes and were covered in red velvet. I could feel him succumb in my power.

He lifted his head and used his fire to try and burn me but it was no use. The impact came directly on me but nothing happened. I wasn't burnt. It was just like wind passing through me.

"How?" he asked, dumbfounded.

I tried to stop myself but I couldn't. I kept hitting him as hard as I could. One blow harder than the other. I looked at myself in their metallic walls.

My eyes have gone black.

And without thinking I strike one of his eyes, blinding him temporarily. He shouts and slithers out of my grasp to the farthest corner. He changes back into a bloody human with a missing eye.

Titania, stop! I tried to tell myself. The words just slip out of my mouth, "Looks like you are the one whose done for."

"Please... show mercy..."

Titania, have you forgotten mercy?

"What is mercy?" I said. "Off with your head." Mercy was never in Titania Rose's vocabulary.
