Ten
Naruto spun, slashing another creature before turning toward the Ten-tails as it roared, more creatures dropping from it.
"Damn this thing," Naruto growled, looking round at his soldiers.
They had all divided into groups of Three Clone Squads and were tearing the creatures apart easily. There were at least a dozen Chakra Chain Dragons fighting alongside Naruto and his clones and Naruto himself was easily tearing through the creatures. Finally, he stopped as wooden spikes shot into the air. His new eyes allowed him to see the two headed for him and he extended his Sword of Kusanagi, destroying both and several others. The rest rained down around him, several clones being hit and having wooden spikes erupt from their bodies, generated from the wooden spikes that had hit them.
"I see," Naruto growled looking around at his last five clones. "So that's how it's going to be. Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
He created well over three dozen clones who all charged into battle. As they did, Naruto turned to the Ten-Tails, entering his Nine-tails Chakra Mode. The Ten-tails sensed the shift and roared, keeping its mouth open as a massive Tailed Beast Ball appeared. Naruto entered his Tailed Beast mode creating and firing his own Tailed Beast Ball, causing both to explode in the Ten-tails' face. The Ten-tails roared in rage as a flood of the creatures began to drop, more than twenty times the previous rate. They flooded over each other, filling the ground so completely they were practically trampling themselves to get to Naruto and his clones. Naruto's clones all entered their own Nine-tails Chakra Modes and Naruto entered his second version, cloak splitting down the middle. As he began forward, the sea of creatures reached him and wood spikes began to rain down at him, all of them aimed at him this time. He punched the ground, sending a cloud of creatures into the Ten-tails' line of fire, shielding himself then darted forward, punching another and blasting it backward into the oncoming army, any it hit being smashed.
"I hate fighting Tailed Beasts," Naruto decided. "Thank God I have you Kurama."
Naruto formed a Rasenshuriken and hurled it, the Rasenshuriken expanding as it flew, shredding countless before exploding and blasting another dozen. The Naruto Clones were slowly being overrun. They were able to kill a dozen every few seconds but the sheer number swarming them made that ability nearly useless, even with them using their Three Cone Squad training. Finally, Naruto was alone, holding his undamaged Double-Edged Sword in his free hand, using it to send ranged blasts at the creatures, keeping half the circle at a distance, for the most part, as his Sword of Kusanagi did the same for the other side simply by extending. Both sides were beginning to close in, however, so Naruto grit his teeth, shouted in annoyed rage, and tapped into the chakra shroud granted by the Tenseigan. Instantly, his chakra shroud's cloak shortened to an open, golden, waist-length coat with long sleeves that turned into large flames at the ends, as Hamura's had, a glowing green circle with a ring around it and two lines extending a short ways from the sides of the ring on his shoulders, gold sandals, and a glowing green body suit under the jacket that extended down his arms and a short way up the back of his hands. The body suit had golden tomoe around his neck and a gold ring on his stomach where his seal was located. Naruto's skin stopped glowing as he entered this form, the collar growing up his neck until his jaw but not constrictive at all. Additionally, ten glowing green spheres appeared in a circle behind him.
At the same moment the shroud finished changing, Naruto was suddenly pulled into his mindscape and found Hagoromo floating there in his older state.
"Hello again Naruto," Hagoromo greeted. "Fear not, I have no intention of attacking you this time. I am here to tell you that the Ten-tails is likely still stronger than you. You will need to seal it to defeat it. And if by some miracle you get home, your means of sealing something as strong as the Ten-tails will remain with you, as will your Tenseigan, allowing you to seal the Forbidden in your world. However, the Forbidden is much, much stronger than the Ten-Tails. The seal will not hold it for more than a few minutes at most. You will need a jutsu that is strong enough to kill it ready when it breaks free."
"I'm working on that last part," Naruto stated. "But, thank you."
"Take my staff," Hagoromo instructed as his staff floated out in front of him, hovering horizontally.
Naruto reached out with his good hand, and the staff shone, disappearing as a circle appeared on his right hand and a black crescent moon appeared on his other palm. Then, he was standing in real life again, knowledge of how to control the spheres shining brightly in his head. He held his hand up, one of the spheres forming a massive circular shield above him, blocking the wooden spikes as the creatures all sprinted forward. Naruto let the shield fade and held his other hand out. All of the spheres flew into a circle around him before separating into dozens of smaller spheres each. Then, Naruto grinned and they all shout outward, blasting the creatures into pieces with a single hit each, all of the balls streaking around through the army of creatures for several seconds before returning to Naruto, reforming their normal-sized versions and reforming the circle behind Naruto. Two flew over his palms as he held his hands out. The two formed a pair of rods the length of his swords and he closed his hands around them and rested one on his shoulder as he held the other down at his side. The rest of the balls closed the gaps in the circle as the sea of creatures began to close in again.
"Let's try this, shall we?" Naruto grinned.
Then, he vanished, reappearing in front of one side and slashed his rod, hitting one and blasting a group of the creatures from the force. He destroyed several more before the Ten-tails swung its hand down at him while forming a Tailed Beast Ball. Naruto avoided the hand instantly and appeared in the air in front of the Ten-tails. He used his unused spheres to form a half dome in front of the Ten-tails just as it fired its Tailed Beast Ball. The explosion shot backward, blasting itself but also shattered the shield. The spheres reformed and returned to Naruto as he flew forward at the badly burned Ten-tails. He swung at it, but before he could hit it, its hand streaked up and flicked Naruto, sending him crashing down into the sea of creatures. Naruto blasted the ones around him, sensing the Ten-tails creating more. Naruto stood and turned toward the Ten-tails as it roared. Naruto sent his spheres out to clear the surrounding area at the exact same time that one of the Ten-tails' tails exploded out of the ground, growing a hand, and pinned Naruto to the ground. Then, the Ten-tails held up a hand, firing a single wooden spike at Naruto's face. The spike blurred toward him at the same time as Naruto's spheres shot back toward him. Naruto wished he had thought to place a teleportation seal but he hadn't thought that far ahead. He also couldn't get the spheres back before the spike reached him or break free of the hand in time to escape it.
Damn, Naruto growled. It's stronger than I gave it credit for. It can think too, apparently. Guess it's a good thing I was going to die anyway.
Just as Naruto grit his teeth, preparing to die, this world's Hinata appeared, over him, the spike burying itself in her stomach and spikes shooting out of her sides. Naruto's eyes widened, spheres blasting the tail off of him as he stood, catching Hinata and setting her down.
"W...why?" Naruto breathed, unable to think properly.
"You...You cared...about me...instead of...just...wanting...to sleep...with me," Hinata said with difficulty, blood running down from her mouth and her voice barely audible. "You...loved me...more than...Rai does...and you...risked...your life...to save me. You were...willing to die...to keep me...safe...when I was...a self...centered bitch...to you. I'm...so...sorry."
"It's okay," Naruto smiled reassuringly, tears streaming down his face. "I'm sorry I wasn't strong enough to protect you. I'm sorry that I ruined your wedding."
"It should...have been...you," Hinata breathed before her eyes fluttered closed and her Chakra vanished from Naruto's senses and Tenseigan sight.
"Hinata?" Naruto breathed shaking her gently and wiping hair from her face. "Don't go. Please."
She didn't move and naruto grit his teeth as tears began to flow from his eyes. A dull roar began to build, and for a moment, he thought it was just his rage, before the ground below him exploded into shreds, flying up past him as he fell. Hinata was in front of him for a moment before also exploding. A life-time of memories began to play in his head, only, in reverse. The entire world around him took on the scene, showing him a reversed version of the history of Rai's world. He watched battle after destructive battle, Rai always being the hero. Then, the world around him turned black. When it returned, it was playing Naruto's own history. He saw his father and mother trying to stop the Nine-tails, he saw himself in the academy, he saw himself fighting Haku, and Zabuza, Kiba, Gaara, Orochimaru, he saw his missions that extended the delay before he had to leave, he saw himself fighting Haido with Temujin, his fight with the false Danzo, Deidara, Moryo, the fight against Kakuzu and Hidan, the assault by the Sky Village, the Three-tails, Pein, his trip to the Island Turtle, his imprisonment and later destroying the prison, he saw the beginning, middle, and end of the war against the reincarnated shinobi. He saw himself and Sasuke freeing the trapped kage, reviving the Jinchuriki with Nagato, their fight against the reincarnated Kage, then, finally, their battle against the Thirteen. As soon as the Forbidden's release began, Naruto was flung sideways. A blur of images from his time battling the Forbidden, both in reality and inside the Shinigami, played before his escape. Him fighting at the rifts, him saving his taken friends, him battling the Forbidden again, this time with his newest jutsu. Then, Naruto was standing in the field where Rai had stabbed him.
"Hello Naruto Uzumaki," Rai's voice spoke.
Before Rai could stab Naruto, Naruto spun, sweeping Rai's hand aside, knocking the Kunai free then grabbed Rai by the throat and slammed him into the ground. Hinata rushed over, reaching for the kunai but Naruto held his hand out, using his still present Tenseigan to pull it to his hand, catching it. Then, he held it up. He could see the seal formula etched into the blade. He sent a pulse of chakra into the seal, shattering it and making the formula fade before Naruto hurled the kunai away. Naruto lifted Rai over his head and drew his Double-Edged Sword, pleased to see the damaged one had been repaired.
"Now, listen carefully Rai," Naruto growled, squeezing his neck slightly. "I'm only saying this once. You may have been promised Hinata years ago when I was away, but Hinata does not belong to you and you do not deserve her. I will be merciful this once, only because I am not in the mood to rip your head off your shoulders. If you ever try to pull a stunt like that again, I'll crush your throat and let you drown in your own blood. Hinata chose me, not you. You can't have her. Now get lost!"
He hurled Rai away from them, Rai flipping and landing on his feet, glaring at Naruto as Dark Chakra began to float off of him.
"You don't get it do you?" Rai growled. "I'm stronger than you. I gained power from the Master. You can't beat me."
"You're the Forbidden's bitch huh?" Naruto snorted. "Well Hinata? What do I do?"
"What was the seal?" Hinata asked.
"It would have sent me to an altered reality where you were a whore and were marrying him and he was the hero of the village," Naruto stated. "And I never existed. Basically everyone we know would be dead and that dumb fuck would be set up like a king."
"In that case," Hinata said calmly but trailed off and grabbed Naruto's Sword of Kusanagi.
Before either male could react, she had aimed it at Rai and the blade had extended to impale his head through the left eye. His body sagged and she retracted the blade, handing the sword back to Naruto.
"He spent the entire year you were gone demanding that I marry him," Hinata stated. "I've wanted a reason to kill him for most of that year."
"Wow, fighting Kiba and spending a year with me dead really turned you cold," Naruto stated. "I'll have to get you back to your old self again."
"What do you mean?" Hinata asked, turning to him as he knelt, taking the hand that she wore her engagement ring on.
"Hinata Hyuga," Naruto smiled. "I know it's about a year late, and I know that technically you already agreed, but would you do me the honor of marrying me tomorrow? I can't wait any longer, even to kill the Forbidden."
Hinata stared at him before beginning to cry and threw her arms around him.
"I thought so," Naruto smiled. "Your old shy self is still in there. From now on, I'll do the fighting. You will be my support and my medic if I need one. I don't want you anywhere near the fights. I won't lose you again."
"Again?" Hinata asked. "He got you with the seal once didn't he? But you found a way back?"
"Yes," Naruto nodded. "And I'm not letting any part of that be reality."
Hinata nodded and kissed Naruto, then rested her head on his shoulder and smiled.
"I'd better get dress shopping then huh?" Hinata asked.
