Growth

Naruto stood motionless, arms crossed like Gaara usually stood. Hagoromo nodded and vanished. With his Byakugan, Naruto saw Hagoromo appear in the air and at an angle behind him. He sent a spectral sword at him but Hagoromo vanished again. The next time he was to Naruto's right. Another spectral sword streaked through empty air as Hagoromo relocated again. Naruto fired another and again Hagoromo relocated, this time appearing directly in front of Naruto, staff raised. A spectral blade flashed over Naruto's shoulder at Hagoromo. Hagoromo teleported away, leaving a single drop of blood behind. When he reappeared, there was a tiny cut above his right eye, just barely missing his third eye. Naruto turned toward him, grinning and Hagoromo growled in annoyance, beginning to teleport around too fast for nearly anyone to track. Sasuke, Naruto, Shisui, and Itachi were the only ones capable of it. Even Kakashi and Obito couldn't keep up. Hinata could if she weren't busy battling Toneri.

Suddenly, Hagoromo was behind Naruto, staff streaking toward him. A spectral sword appeared behind Hagoromo, shooting toward him. Just before it hit, Hagoromo appeared opposite Naruto, still slashing. Naruto smirked, the spectral sword sprouting from his chest and sinking an inch into a surprised Hagoromo's chest before Hagoromo teleported away, barely saving his heart. The sword exited Naruto, leaving him unharmed. Hagoromo growled in frustration, beginning to teleport around at random again.

Toneri threw himself aside as Hinata's beam flashed through the area he had occupied a moment ago. As he stood, Hinata appeared in front of him, orbs glowing green in a stationary circle in front of her hand. He swore, turning to flee just as a massive tornado formed and shot out of the circle, blasting him and sending him crashing into a massive border nearby. He stood, growling in frustration, and sending his spheres at Hinata again. Hinata's own blocked his, deflecting them. Finally, Toneri pulled them back and Hinata did the same. Then, she formed a hundred foot long golden chakra blade. Toneri made a matching one, smirking at Hinata's plan.

"You want to sword fight with these?" Toneri snorted. "Do you know how bad an idea that is? This blade is powerful enough to cut this planet in half, if long enough. And I've trained to use a sword since I was very young. Having a Tenseigan doesn't make you skilled enough to match me."

"I know," Hinata agreed. "Just humor me."

Toneri rolled his eyes then slashed vertically at Hinata. The moment it neared her, her own swung around, smashing it aside before swinging around at him. He flipped over it, slashing at her again. Again she blocked it and slashed at him. He blocked it but this time, the force of the impact sent out a shockwave that launched everyone else away, including Naruto and Hagoromo. Toneri's sword cracked and he shoved Hinata's away, repairing his own. Hinata snorted and compressed the chakra in her blade, shrinking the blade and the ring of spheres down to the size of a normal katana, more or less. Toneri slashed at her again but this time, her sword cut through his like butter. The severed portion faded instantly and Toneri regenerated it then shrunk his own down. He charged forward, slashing at her. Their blades met in a massive blast of chakra. This time, Hagoromo and Naruto had been watching for it and were able to resist, turning their attention to the fight. Hinata shoved Toneri's blade away and spun slashing at him. Toneri blocked it, sending out another blast before shoving hers away and stabbing at her. She smirked, stepping to the outside of the blade and blocking it, allowing the flat of her blade to scrape across his, sending out a continuous blast of chakra. As she stepped forward, Toneri still moving his sword forward, unable to change directions as fast as Hinata, she slashed at him, the blade carving a gash in his side before the compressed chakra blasted a massive chunk out of his side. He staggered away before stabbing at Hinata again. This time, she knocked the blade skyward, twisting her blade so the edge was downward again before slashing at him as he was still reeling from her deflecting his blow. Before he could react, Hinata's blade connected with his left shoulder, exiting from his right hip. his face held a stunned and uncomprehending look, straight up until the point that the compressed chakra of Hinata's blade blasted the entirety of his body into paste, with the only exception being his stolen eyes, which faded back to Byakugan.

"Looks like your training was lacking," Hinata stated. "Amazing what you can learn when you learn to fight with a sword from Itachi Uchiha."

She knelt, retrieving her father's eyes and using chakra to clean them of dirt and Toneri's remains. Then, she glanced at Naruto and left to return them to Hiashi.

Naruto whistled, thoroughly impressed with Hinata's skill with a blade. He doubted there was a single person besides himself and Hagoromo who could stand against her now. Naruto turned back to Hagoromo, grinning. Hagoromo raised an eyebrow as Naruto began rapid-firing spectral blades. He fired four before Hagoromo teleported. The next spectral blade, and the next two, were directed at Hagoromo. He teleported away and this cycle repeated. Except that each time, the swords got just a bit closer. Finally, Hagoromo stopped, forming a shield and blocking Naruto's swords. Naruto stopped and Hagoromo let his shield shrink back into his spheres. Naruto formed another sword but before he could fire it, it exploded as an expression of agony warped his face, pain throbbing through his entire body in one massive blast from his eyes. He screamed in pain, clutching his face and falling to his knees. Sasuke and Hinata both appeared in front of him protectively but instead of attacking, Hagoromo backed away slightly.

"Impossible," Hagoromo growled. "Instantaneous transformation? How!?"

"I have the chakra of a Tailed Beast in me in addition to Hinata's eyes and Otsutsuki blood," Naruto stated pushing himself up, a grin now covering his face as he wiped away tears of pain. "I'm the Jinchuriki of the Nine-tailed Beast, remember?"

Hagoromo growled in frustration as everyone looked between the two in confusion. They understood when Naruto's Chakra shroud returned to its combined form and he opened his eyes, displaying Tenseigan, these ones glowing slightly brighter than Hinata's. Naruto raised an eyebrow at the feeling of his new eyes and looked at Hinata.

"Keep them," Hinata smiled. "You were always meant to be stronger."

Naruto smirked but shook his head. He made the Seal of Confrontation and both he and Hinata winced as their eyes switched luminosity. He winced again as both of their Tenseigan Chakra Shrouds faded then returned, both generating spheres. This time, however, both of their spheres were black, like Hagoromo's. Naruto held his hand out, forming a jian in it and Hagoromo sighed, holding his staff out.

"You really want to do this again?" Hagoromo sighed. "Fine. Let's go."

He teleported down to Naruto and slashed at him. Naruto blocked it, a crater forming below them before Naruto shoved the staff away and planted his foot in Hagoromo's chest. Hagoromo flew backward flipping over and starting forward again. Before he reached Naruto, however, Naruto sent his spheres at Hagoromo. Hagoromo fired his own, his smashing through Naruto's again. Naruto, Hinata, and Sasuke leapt over the spheres as they returned to Hagoromo and Naruto's regenerated again.

"You can't beat me Naruto," Hagoromo growled. "You may have the powers of my brother, but you do not have my powers. You see, my powers are not just these spheres. My powers are based mainly in Senjutsu."

"I know," Naruto grinned. "Senjutsu and the Ten-tails' Chakra. I can't copy the Ten-tails' Chakra, all I have is one of nine parts. However, it'll be enough."

"My senjutsu is still far superior to your current powers," Hagoromo growled.

"I know," Naruto grinned. "You see, the entire time we've been fighting since I regained my Tenseigan and returned Hinata's to her, I've been adding my Sage Mode to my powers. You see, I finally mastered it more than anyone except you. I no longer have to be motionless. I can gather Nature Energy while in combat, though at a much slower rate."

"You lie," Hagoromo growled.

Naruto grinned, looking up at Hagoromo as the lighter inner part of his Tenseigan turned yellow with the pupil growing into a horizontal bar and the orange pigmentation appeared around his eyes. Then, he allowed Kurama to regulate how much of his chakra was in the shroud and the outer part of his Tenseigan turned blood red with the pupils growing a slit extending from the top and bottom of the bars. Hagoromo growled in frustration and charged, slashing at Naruto. Naruto slashed as well, their weapons colliding and sending a massive blast of chakra shooting skyward. This time, Hagoromo was the one to leave the explosion wounded. His wounds mended themselves instantly but Naruto floated out of the top of the dust cloud lazily, resting his jian on his shoulder and grinning.

"You bastard," Hagoromo growled. "I'll fucking kill you."

"Probably," Naruto nodded in agreement. "But then again, maybe not."

He held his sword out in front of him and Hagoromo charged. If nothing else, the fight would be the last time Naruto fought him.
