AN: Holy shit! I'm alive! That's right, I had an issue with this story as I lost my muse for a bit, plus the team I had picked I tested in both White 2 and X version (to incorporate Delphox), and they just wouldn't work right. So I then had to spend time constructing a team that will work out correctly and balanced. This is to make the story accurate to the games as possible. "Nice job Naruto. But can you beat this one."
"What do you think buddy, you up for another fight?" Riolu stared at Lillipup for a few seconds before shaking his head. Patrat's last Bite attack had been a Critical Hit, along with the fact that Bite is a Dark-Type move which caused his ability Justified to kick in which was the only reason why Counter did more damage than usual. Nodding, Naruto returned him to his Pokéball in a flash of red light. He returned Riolu's ball to his belt and went to grab Snivy's but stopped as a foxy grin spread across his face. His hand moved over the second red and white orb and instead grabbed the pure white ball.
"Time for your debut my friend." He whispered as he plucked his oldest companion's ball off his belt. He held the ball in front of him and pressed the release button, unleashing the Pokémon in the familiar surge of white energy.
"I choose you, Kurama!"
Chapter 5: Decisive Battle! A New Companion!
Silence filed the field as all eyes turned to stare at the newest member of Naruto's team. Shock was clear on both Cheren and Lloyd's faces as they stared unabashedly at the Kalos fire starter. After a few minutes, the silence was broken by Cheren's disbelieving cry.
"Bullshit! There is now way in hell that you are that lucky kid, how in the name of Arceus did you get a Fennekin! They are exclusively native to Kalos, impossible to get in any other region!"
Naruto smirked as he stared down at the new form of the Kyuubi no Kitsune.
"Let's just say that Kurama is an old friend of mine and has been with me since I was a baby." Cheren stared at him shrewdly before sighing and waving his hand to Lloyd to start the battle.
"The battle between the Leader's Lillipup and the Challenger's Fennekin is ready to begin. Go on your count gentlemen!"
Cheren was the first to make his move.
"Lillipup use Work Up and then Tackle attack now!"
Lillipup let out a bark as an orange aura surrounded the Scout Pokémon before it launched itself at its opponent only for Naruto to respond.
"Kurama, wait till the last second and then dodge it and then use Howl. Then use your own Tackle attack!"
Grinning to himself, Kurama sprang to the left just as Lillipup was just inches in front of the Fox Pokémon and then let out a loud, piercing Howl which suddenly filled the Fire-Type with confidence, which signalled the increase in his Attack stat, as he then darted towards Lillipup, who had his back turned. Lillipup let out a whine of pain as the Fox slammed into the Normal-Type sending it crashing to the ground.
"Now use Ember!"
"Lillipup, please get up and dodge it!"
Try as he could, Lillipup couldn't get away in time to dodge the rather larger than usual Ember attack. Before Kurama could go in for the final blow Cheren interrupted the fight.
"I would like to use my Potion on Lillipup!"
Lloyd blew on his whistle and ordered Naruto to make Kurama stand down. Kurama looked like he wanted to say something but one look from Naruto silenced him. Cheren ran across the field to his downed Pokémon and pulled out a bottle filled with a purple liquid and sprayed Lillipup's wounds, while Lillipup let out a satisfied growl as its injuries healed. In a few seconds he was back on his feet, eager to restart the battle. Kurama returned the stare with similar eagerness.
"Are both contestants ready?" Both trainers nod "Then let the battle continue!"
"Kurama Tackle!"
"Lillipup use Bite!"
Despite Kurama's superior speed, all that it lead to was his nose being caught in Lillipup's surprisingly sharp teeth faster than usual. With a shriek of pain, Kurama let out an Ember attack to knock the viciously biting dog.
"Kurama are you ok?" called Naruto, worried for the former Biju. His response was to get back up and let out a rather loud roar for such a tiny being. Grinning Naruto then set up a counter attack.
"Kurama, use Tackle but as you run use Ember, rapid fire!"
Dashing towards the Scout Pokémon, the Fennec Fox-like Pokémon started to regurgitate large balls of fire as it steadily closed the distance at a rapid pace, Cheren didn't know what to do. By using Ember as he ran, Kurama blocked of any escape route. If Lillipup tried dodging to the side or above he would be struck by the balls of fire and he taught Lillipup any moves that would allow the dog-like Pokémon to tunnel underground.
"Dammit, I knew I shouldn't have given Hilda my Dig TM to use."
Gritting his teeth in frustration he ordered:
"Lillipup, try to land a Tackle attack without receiving too much damage!"
Letting out a sharp bark, the peach coloured Pokémon ran as fast as it could towards the oncoming fire storm. As the approached each other, both Pokémon began to feel the strain of their attacks: Lillipup due to being bombarded by large balls of fire and Kurama due to straining his new body without fully testing its capabilities. The met head on in a head bashing collision that resulted in a large cloud of dust being kicked up shielding the two combatants from their Trainer's view.
"Kurama!"
"Lillipup!"
Both Trainers watched on in trepidation as they waited for the dust to settle. Lloyd looked on in amazement at the amount of power shown by both young Pokémon while Hannah looked on, worried for Kurama and Naruto.
Finally, the dust began to settle and two silhouettes were shown. Both canine-like Pokémon standing while facing away from each other, both were panting heavily from severe fatigue. To their trainer's shock both Pokémon collapsed to the ground which prompted Lloyd to start counting, as he approached the number ten, one of the downed combatants stood up.
"Fennekin is unable to battle. The winner of the second round is Lillipup!"
"Kurama!" cried Naruto as he stared at his injured Pokémon, pulling out his Premier Ball he returned his partner back into the haven of its mobile home. To Naruto's confusion, Cheren cried out:
"Lillipup, use it now!"
To his amazement, the Puppy Pokémon pulled out a blue berry from nowhere and devoured it whole. A green aura surrounded Lillipup's body as its strength seemed to return to its battered body.
"What was that?" The blonde teen asked; the confusion clear in his voice. Hannah stared out onto the field in worry as Lloyd called out:
"An Oran Berry lad, can be use to return the health of a Pokémon when held in battle."
With a groan, Naruto grabbed Riolu's Pokéball and tossed it into the air. The small canine-like Pokémon returned to the field in the familiar flash of white energy. The small fighting type glanced around before catching sight of Lillipup across the field. Both Pokémon stared growling as a tense atmosphere covered the pitch.
"Oh shit." Muttered Cheren as both Pokémon began to growl and snarl.
"Riolu! What's wrong with you?" Naruto asked, shocked as Riolu was the calmest member of his team. Cheren gulped audibly before looking towards the young trainer/ninja.
"In some cases, when two Pokémon of the same gender and animal type meet, it can lead to a call of domination as both Pokémon will try to become the Alpha."
They were broke out of their discussion as both canine-like Pokémon leapt at each other with a roar of aggression. Riolu launched a devastating punch at Lillipup's snout while the latter bared its teeth at the former. The result being several of Lillipup's teeth being knocked out while the rest embedded themselves into Riolu's paw. Both Pokémon bellowed out screeches of pain as they struggled to get loose.
"LILLIPUP/RIOLU!" Both trainers yelled as they watched their Pokémon struggle against each other. Without another thought, they returned both of their Pokémon.
"I should have trained him out of that phase." Cheren muttered as he pocketed Lillipup's Pokéball. Gesturing to Lloyd, he began to approach Naruto. Nodding, Lloyd called:
"As both of the Leader's Pokémon are unable to battle, the winner is Naruto Uzumaki of Unknown!"

"I still think that we should have a rematch."
"Just shut up and let my brother do this...don't you make that face at me!"
CRACK!
"Mother f-you hit a hell of a lot harder than Sakura."
The sound of a throat clearing brought the two bickering teens back to reality. They both turned to face Cheren, who stood facing Naruto whilst clutching a small box in both hands.
"Naruto Uzumaki. I, Gym Leader Cheren Rider, present you with the Basic Badge."
Opening the box, Cheren offered it to the Blonde trainer. Reaching in, the teen grabbed the small object inside and looked at it. It was a small rectangular object about 3 to 4 inches long and half an inch wide. It was made out of what seemed to be a golden coloured metal with a rectangular purple jewel set into it.
"With this badge, traded Pokémon up to level 20 will obey you without question. Also, take this Badge Case. You can use this to store all the badges that you have collected during your journey."
He handed Naruto an orange case with the symbol of the Unova League emblazoned on the cover. Naruto immediately opened up the case and placed his new badge inside. Cheren then turned his attention to Hannah and reached into his pocket.
"And for you Hannah, father gave me this to give you when you became a trainer."
He pulled out a shrunken Pokéball and handed it to his younger sibling. The girl in question hit the centre button and expanded the ball. She then flicked the release switch and called out the Pokémon inside.
A flash of brilliant white light escaped the sphere and when the light died down; it revealed a small deer-like Pokémon that had a cream body with a green coat. Its eyes shone an innocent brown colour while there was a small tuft of yellow hair on top of its head.
Hannah whipped out her Pokédex and aimed it at the new Pokémon.
"Deerling. The Seasonal Pokémon. Their colouring changes according to the seasons and can be slightly affected by temperature and humidity as well."
"Oh my Arceus, you are such a cutie!"
Hannah bent down and began to scratch Deerling's ears, causing the Seasonal Pokémon to let out a small cry of delight. Pressing a few buttons, Hannah scanned her Pokémon in order to gain more data on Deerling.
"Gender: Female. Level: 10. Moves: Tackle, Growl, Sand Attack, Double Kick."
"Not a bad move set, plus when it evolves into a Sawsbuck it will become a powerful asset to your team."
Hannah nodded at her brother's words before returning her newly gained Deerling back into her Pokéball. She turned to Naruto only to find the orange and black clad boy to be missing.
"Where did Naruto go?"
*Route 1*
"Sniv snivy!"
"Sigh...I know Snivy but its better this way. No need to deal with rejection, I got enough of that from those villagers."
Then a sound filled the entire route, causing Naruto's blood to run cold. He knew that sound, he knew it very well.
It was the sound of an enraged female.
"NARUTO UZUMAKI!"
"Oh crap." He muttered as, shaking, he turned to face the irate face oh Hannah Rider.
"H-hey Hannah, what's up?"
Flames seemed to fill her eye sockets as she suddenly towered over Naruto.
"WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU ARE GOING? DO YOU REALLY THINK YOU ARE LEAVING WITHOUT ME?"
Naruto raised his hands in defence, violently shaking his head from side to side.
"No no, of course not. I-I just had...business to take care of. That's it; I had business to take care. Then I was gonna come back for you."
Hannah glared at him for a few more seconds, before her attitude to a major 180o flip. All the flames vanished as she grabbed onto his slightly trembling arm, a large smile on her face with her eyes shining.
"Aw, aren't you just the sweetest. Let's go then."
And with that she released the traumatised boy and skipped off, humming to herself. Letting out a sigh of relief, he glanced at his starter.
"Talk about bipolar, huh?"
"Sni vy."
"HURRY UP!"
Jumping slightly, Naruto ran off in the direction that Hannah had moved in. Snivy curled up in his hood. As he ran, he glanced up at the sky, his foxy grin on his face.
"Here we go then."
