That's What Little Girls Are Made Of...
Chapter One Forty-Three
BPOV
I hated leaving Edward, but knowing that the closest thing I had to parents were waiting for me in that house had my heart beating out of my chest and my feet moving of their own volition.
Following the winding stairs with Rosalie and Alice, I made my way to what looked like a state-of-the-art mancave. Cautiously, we made our way to the room we saw on Jasper's tablet. I was so close to seeing Me-me and C.C. again I could taste it.
I could hear raised voices on the other side of the door, and with trembling fingers, I pushed it open. "Me-me?" My voice sounded hoarse and unsure, making her name come out like a question.
"Oh my sweet, sweet girl!" Comforting arms wrapped themselves around me and, immediately, I breathed in her warm scent.
Home...
I was finally home!
"Oh my God," Esme sobbed into my neck. "I can't believe that you're here. I missed you so much, Precious Girl." Holding me at arm's length, Esme regarded me with a raised brow. "What are you doing her, Young Lady? Do you know how dangerous that monster, Eleazar Cullen, is? You, Missy, are grounded, and Edward is going to get a piece of my mind. I can't believe I left you in his care and he's allowed you to accompany him here."
I couldn't help but grin through my own torrent of tears, it felt so good to hear her voice again, even if she was trying to ground me. "Loose the grin, Isabella," Esme admonished, using her mom voice. "And furthermore, what are you girls wearing?"
"Uh..." Looking at Rose and Alice, they both shrugged. "It's a long story. We're going to all laugh about this one day." From the look that Esme gave me, we would never be laughing about this.
So much for my girls having my back!
Yeah, they were no fucking help!
"Esme," a quiet, unsure voice called, reminding us that we weren't alone in the room. "Who are these young ladies?"
Before she could answer, I was across the room hugging my pseudo father. "C.C., it's me, Bella!" He just stood there, stiffly, regarding me with those kind blue eyes. "Don't you remember me? Charlie's daughter? Your daughter?" He just stared at me blankly. "Please? Say something!" By this time, I was near hysterics and apparently I was upsetting Carlisle as well.
Esme decided it was time to step in. "It's okay, Sweetheart. He doesn't remember anything after we lived in Chicago right now." In a flash, Rose and Alice were by my side, keeping me on my feet as I sobbed uncontrollably.
"Hey, Bella, it's alright," they cooed in unison, rubbing my back.
"Yes, Sweetheart," Esme smoothed my hair from my face. "We're going to have to be patient with him, it's going to take time for all of his memories to come back." Kissing me sweetly on the forehead, she cupped my cheek. "Being at a home with his family will aid in restoring his memories. And if it doesn't, we'll make new ones, okay?"
"Okay," I sighed, leaning into her soft touch.
All of a sudden, another familiar hand joined Esme's. Caught off guard by his familiar affection, I couldn't stop the fresh round of tears from falling. "Clearly, I've upset you, and I am deeply sorry. Isabella, I promise I'm trying. You seem like a wonderful person, and it will be my honor to get to know you again." And then, he gave me a smile.
My smile.
The one Carlisle reserved just for me.
Just then, a movement in the corner caught my eye.
Maggie...
Without her, none of this would have been possible.
Walking over, I looked at the women who bore a striking resemblance to C.C. "You must be the infamous, Maggie?" Grinning shyly, she shook her head to the affirmative. "Well.. I'm Bella," I shrugged nonchalantly, "your niece."
And just like that, all the awkwardness went out the window, and she tentatively wrapped me in a hug. "It's very nice to meet you, Bella." She whispered into my hair. "Esme has told me so much about you."
"All good," I joked.
"Of course," she beamed back. I could see the relief in her eyes at my acceptance. Esme was smiling so wide that it looked like her face was going to split any second.
Introductions were made with Rosalie and Alice to Maggie, and a re-introduction for Carlisle.
Guess we were adding to our already motley crew...
AN: Okay... I know you all are upset, but I felt that they needed a bit of a reunion. So, let me know what you guys think! Is anybody as happy as I am to have Me-me and C.C. back. And how do you think Edward is going to the new addition to the family?
