Chapter One Forty-Five

This was bad!
This was really bad!
I tried my best to get Maggie to stay in the panic room like Emmett had advised us to, but I just couldn't stop her from leaving. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that she was going to kill Eleazar.
Don't get me wrong, I wanted that bastard dead just as bad as the next fellow, but I just didn't want his tainted, evil blood on Maggie's innocent hands.
Yes, I said innocent.
She was just as much, if not more, a victim in all of this than the rest of us.
I couldn't have been more proud of Isabella when she walked over and introduced herself to Maggie the way she did. My Isabella was a very sweet old soul, and I knew that she would make room in her heart to include Maggie. As far as Isabella was concerned, she was family.
My only worry now was Edward. Even as a child, he was never quick to let people in, especially, ones he didn't trust. If only I could make him see that Maggie was nothing like her father, and had a heart of gold like his.
Jumping into protective mode, I was at Maggie's side in a flash. "Maggie, sweetheart it's over." Squeezing her shoulder gently, I attempted to soothe her so I could get the gun.
"Mom, don't!" Edward yelled, holding up his hands to stop me. "She's got a gun!"
"Oh Edward, calm down." I said sternly. "She's in shock. Maggie would never hurt me."
"You, ungrateful little bitch! What the hell have you done?" Tanya screamed, alerting me to her presence.
"Daddy!" Supulcia cried at the same time, falling her knees at Eleazar's feet. Sobbing, she accused, "You killed my father! He loved me! He never loved you, and you took him from me! Alec, please…" she whimpered.
Alec made a move to get up and Emmett cocked his gun at his head. "Go ahead, give me a fucking reason to turn your brains into a pile of shit."
"Emmett, language!" I chastised.
"Sorry, Momma Mee." At least he had the good sense to be embarrassed.
"You…" Tanya was now glaring at me. "All of this happened because of you and your fucking bastard son! Your interference in Carlisle's life ruined Eleazar's plans for him! Carlisle was mines!" She shouted, getting in my face.
"He loved me! We were happy, before you came along and fucked everything up! I hate you, Esme Platt." She spat my maiden name as if it left a bad taste in her mouth. "And I swear to God, you are going to pay for this!" Getting right in my face she lowered her voice to a menacing hiss. "I should have had you killed when I had the chance!"
Listening to her spew those vile and disgusting words, I saw red. Grabbing a fist full of her hair, I slammed her head into the nearest wall, punctuating each and every word. "My. Name. Is. Esme. Cullen, bitch! And my husband would never stoop so low as to fall in love with a slutty whore like you!"
Yanking her head back, I was totally unfazed by the blood running from the gash in her head. "Even with amnesia you still couldn't get my husband to fuck your diseased ass! And as for having me killed, you don't have the fucking balls to make that shit happen!"
Tossing her to the ground like a used rag doll, I placed my foot on her chest and leaned down. "Don't worry, I'm sure that some tattooed lesbian will take pity on you and make you her prison bitch, because that's exactly where you're headed."
Looking each and every one of my tormentors in the eye, I said, "I hope all of you rot in prison as you wait to join Eleazar in hell!"
"Federal Agents, nobody move!"
Aw hell, now what?
