That was quick! Who's looking forward to playing Pit, Dark Pit, and Palutena in SMASH BROS WIIU!? For anyone who's seen Dark Pit's Palutena's guidance, I AM going to consider it canon, and for anyone who hasn't... Pit's down taunt on Palutena's temple with DP as enemy. ANYWAY! I had a bit of fun with a conversation between Viridi and a certain human you may know in this chapter, so please, enjoy.
DISCLAIMER: I OWN NOTHING! (EXCEPT IGNAST AND ESSENTIALLY EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS IN THIS CHATPER)
Ignast collided with Dark Pit in midair. Dark Pit spun off course, quickly flapping his wings to keep his balance.
"Jeeze!" Dark Pit yelled, "what was that about?"
"Sorry!" Ignast replied, flying up to Dark Pit.
"Do you know where the Chaos Kin went?" Dark Pit asked.
"Yes," Ignast said, "the town below us, I saw a streak of green go there."
"Thanks!" Dark Pit said, quickly flying down to the indicated town. Ignast flew with him.
"So… what does the Chaos Kin look like?" Iganst asked.
"You'll know it when you see it," Dark Pit said, "it's this disgust-" he was cut off when a large sword hit his arm. A human had jumped from a building, and slammed a sword the size of a club into Dark Pit's arm.
"What the-" Dark Pit said, before the human cut him off.
"Wait- Pit?" the human said in a deep voice. Dark Pit quickly landed. The human fell down next to him.
"How do you know Pit?" Dark Pit asked, looking at the human. He had long dark hair and wore a shirt with the sleeves ripped off.
"I'm Magnus," the human said, "Pit and I took down Gaol together. I, uh, assume you aren't Pit?"
"No," Dark Pit said, "I'm Dark Pit."
"I suppose it's necessary to ask," Magnus said, "which army are you allied with?"
"None," Dark Pit said, "though I'm doing a favor for Viridi."
"What?!" Magnus yelled. "Did she send that bug?!"
"The opposite," Dark Pit said quickly, "she's trying to kill it."
"Do you know how to heal those injured by it?" Magnus asked.
"I don't even know how it kills," Dark Pit said, shaking his head.
"Well now you will," Magnus said, and pointed Dark Pit toward a person. The person was made completely of stone.
"It's a stone sculpture," Dark Pit said.
"No," Magnus said, " that big moth put it's stinger through that guy's chest, and then he just turned into stone. A green orb came out, as well."
"I don't know what that was, Ignast?" Dark Pit asked.
"If I had to guess," Iganst said, "I would say the Chaos Kin is taking souls."
"That's right!" came Viridi's voice.
"Viridi!" Dark Pit yelled. "How long have you been watching!?"
"Essentially starting when Pit and Palutena left," Viridi said. "Anyway, the Chaos Kin does steal souls I must have eaten this human's. If it doesn't eat it, it can take control of their minds."
"So, how can you tell if it's in control of someone?" Ignast asked.
"You can't," Viridi said.
"Really?" Dark Pit said, sighing.
"Yes," Viridi said, "but you may be able to stop the Chaos Kin from controlling them if you can find the Chaos Kin and take it down."
"Got it," Dark Pit said.
"You, uh, done talking that devil goddess?" Magnus asked.
"You're the devil, vermin!" Viridi yelled, and by Magnus' reaction Dark Pit figured Viridi had extended her telepathy to him.
"You're killing off our people by the hundreds!" Magnus roarded. " THAT'S what devils do!"
"I'm only doing to you what you've done to the hundreds of forsests and ecosystems! Ever heard of Global Warming!?"
"What's global warming?" Magnus asked.
"Exactly what I'm talking about!" Viridi screamed. "You don't have the slightest idea what you're doing to Nature!"
"Viridi?" Ignast said, cautiously.
"What!?"
"They can't use magic like the gods can," Dark Pit said, "they COULDN'T know about Global Warming."
"Yeah," Ignast said, "and, shouldn't be able to stop Global Warming, oh 'Goddess Of Nature?'"
"Good point," Viridi said.
"Exactly," Dark Pit said, "now, how do we find the Chaos Kin?"
"Here, I'm sending something to you," Viridi said. Suddenly, a gust of wind flew bye, and on a kind of sword appeared in Dark Pit's hands. It's blade was black, while the handle, which didn't have guards, was made of leaves.
"What is it?" Dark Pit asked, holding it up.
"The Chaos Kin can get into it's home, the Chaos Vortex, by ripping a hole in space time," Viridi explained, "that sword will do the same. I made it without Dyntos' help though, so I'm not sure how well it will hold up after one or two uses."
"Judging by the key's to the Underworld we got from him," Dark Pit said, "I don't think it makes much of a difference."
"Anyway," Viridi said, "slash with it to open a portal. It closes after a few seconds though, so be quick."
"Got it," Dark Pit said, holding the sword above his head. "Ready Ignast?"
"Yep!" Ignast said.
"Don't count me out," Magnus said, walking up next to Dark Pit. "I want to crush that thing beneath my foot." Dark Pit smirked.
"With any hope, we'll do just that," Dark Pit said, and he swung downward. There was a loud tearing noise, as if someone had torn a large sheet of fabric. Where the sword strike had been, there now was a large crack, large enough for even the tallest human. But it was quickly shrinking. On the other side was a swirling orange vortex. Dark Pit jumped through. Behind him Ignast and Magnus did the same. Magnus grabbed onto Ignast's hand, while Ignast flew to keep them both in the air. The sword had dissolved. Dark Pit looked around. The entire sky was orange, if it could be called a sky. All around there were floating islands, huge eyes, and all kinds of crazy things. Dark Pit looked at the largest island, which had a coliseum on it.
"Over there," Dark Pit said, pointing toward it. Iganst nodded, and sped off. Dark Pit followed. He noticed how there was no up or down, and, even more oddly, he realized the separate islands each had their own gravity, but it only seemed to matter when landing on one. Ignast had already gone into the coliseum when Dark Pit got there.
"Dude!" Ignast yelled. "You gotta check this out."
"What is it?" Dark Pit asked, going into the building. This, however, became immediately apparent. All around the building there were different cracks, much akin to the one they had come through, and through them were different area's in the real world. Dark Pit got closer to one with a volcano. He could feel the heat coming through it. Suddenly, he saw a tiny movement out of the corner of his eye, and a green mass rushed at him, tackling him through the crack. Once again Dark Pit was wrestling with the Chaos Kin, this time over a huge, active volcano.
