A.N./: Here is the long awaited bonus chapter! Remember, it takes place right after chapter 12 ^^
Everything had gone more than well on that Saturday afternoon for Rin and Shiemi. The only thing the two had forgotten was that the young girl's mother had a habit of pacing around the exorcism shop to make some order. How surprised Mrs. Moriyama was when she came into the living room for a well deserved cup of tea and found her daughter serving one to that good for nothing brother of Yukio's.
Shiemi seemed radiant, making small talk to the raven haired teen by her side and not noticing her presence at all. She had heard all about the boy's blood line and obviously wasn't very pleased to see her daughter shyly placing her hand above Satan's son's.
She cleared her throat to make her presence known and cut in sharply in their conversation. "May I help you?"
Shiemi almost let the teapot fall out of her hands but managed not to spill all of its content on the neat wooden floor and flowery carpet of the living room. She stared at her mother for a second with a look of pure shock. Rin turned his head as well, glancing at Shiemi briefly for some kind of approval before slowly raising his hand and waving awkwardly.
"Hum…Hello Mrs. Moriyama…" He greeted, uneasiness taking over his voice and body as his tail started cramping up.
"Hi mom." Shiemi followed her new boyfriend's example, always admiring his courage (though Rin himself would probably admit that he had had absolutely none at the time).
Silence fell in the room, so heavy that you could almost feel it in the air. Shiemi knew what was going on but had hoped that it wouldn't happen so soon. How could she have been such an idiot, forgetting her mom's presence in the house today? What if she had showed up in the shop earlier!? The blonde suppressed a crimson blush from spreading across her cheeks at the thought.
She didn't really look like it, but Shiemi's mom was a true predator for Rin. Had it been any other boy, she would have probably sat down by now and enjoyed asking embarrassing questions to a flushed young couple, but she knew who Rin was. Okumura Yukio's brother was that kind of rebel guy who wanted to prove their worth by doing the worst possible things (such as trying taking an army of leapers down on their own). Furthermore, with his heritage, this boy was bound to bring her daughter a lot of problems (like luring one of the most dangerous of his kind, Amaimon, the king of earth inside the Academy for example).
She could have told him to step out of her house into the pouring rain right then but she could do better than that. Much better.
"Can you explain what you're doing in my house, at this time of the day and without my knowledge?" She asked in a rather accusing voice. She was exaggerating a bit, it was barely past noon. But with what she'd heard from Rin's brother…
"Err…I…You see…Shiemi…I was…" Rin stuttered in front of the large imposing woman. Never for the life of him would he tell anyone that but she was scaring him to death.
"I'm waiting." She added to worsen the tension a bit more. Rin gulped as he searched desperately in his mind for an answer that didn't include 'I came here to settle things with your daughter because I made her suffer sooo much during the past week and then confess to her before we could make out in your shop for two whole minutes'. The last part of the explanation wasn't exactly planned but there was no denying that it did happen…
"Stop it mom! Rin came here to help me with demonology homework!" Shiemi shouted at her mom's glaring face. The woman didn't let it show but couldn't help but think how traitorous this was of her daughter.
"I thought he wasn't any good at school." She stated simply. Again, Yukio couldn't help talking to her to relieve some of his stress when he came to buy supplies. Rin's failing in every subject was a recurrent topic in the young exorcist's ranting.
Rin sweatdropped. His reputation had preceded him yet again. Shiemi just waved it off with the same awkward smile he had earlier. "He really improved in a few days!" She chuckled nervously. "He had more than 70 on the last test!"
"Is that so? Can this young man tell me what an Ent's weakness is then?" Again, something she had learned from Yukio after the incident with Shiemi's legs. She had wanted to make sure it wouldn't happen again.
Rin scratched his head, deep in thoughts for a second. "Hum…Fire I guess. They're some kind of plant, right?"
"So you're not sure?" asked behind gritted teeth. His answer was correct but she wouldn't let him have it so easily.
"No, no! Err I mean, yes I'm sure. It's fire!" Rin replied nervously and gazed briefly at Shiemi again, imploring her help.
"Shiemi, go get your book upstairs. I still don't buy it." the overprotective mother ordered still glaring daggers at the half demon sitting with his back against the radiator of her living room like he owned the place. Upon realizing how she was giving him the dirtiest look on earth, Rin tried to sit a bit more upright but ended up making drops of rain fall on the polished wooden floor. glared even harder as he let out a very high pitched 'sorry'.
It didn't take much longer for Shiemi to come back downstairs with her thick demonology manual under her arm. She didn't want Rin to stay alone with her dangerous mother for too long. Mrs Moriyama grabbed the book from her daughter's extended hands and watched as the blonde made her way to sit back down next to Rin. Oh, no. It would be absolutely no fun if she let her do that.
"Shiemi, you have to take care of the shop this afternoon, remember?"
"What? But mom…!" The blonde who didn't even have the time to sit down interjected, scandalized at what her mother was plotting.
"No buts. I'm going to test this tutor of yours while you make some order in the cupboards." She smirked evilly, enjoying the look of utter shock on her daughter's face.
"Mom! You can't…!" She tried to defend herself.
"Shiemi!" This tone wasn't to be taken lightly. Shiemi didn't like it but it would probably be best if she obeyed right now rather than to have Rin banned from her house forever.
She made her way out of the room with a last apologetic glance at her terrified boyfriend. He was silently begging her not to leave him alone with a demon probably much stronger and worse than him. He jumped when he heard the devilish woman's voice again as she chose a particularly difficult part about demons related to Lucifer.
"So, where were we?..."
The REAL Final A.N./: I want to thank all of you readers again, this was my first time having so many reviewers etc on a story. ARIGATO MINNA-SAN! \(^o^)/
I'd like to inform everyone here who likes Sasusaku and has read Naruto to the end that my new story is officially out!
"FLY AWAY" will hopefully answer some of the left out questions at the end of Naruto and further develop Sasuke and Sakura's relationship. Please note that this will not go as far as making them go to the moon or be as "platonic" (euphemism, much) as Sakura Hiden.^^
You can find the story on my profile. Anyway, now you know :)
Thank you so much again for all the support you gave me for "Friend-zoned", I hope to hear from some of you in "FLY AWAY"!
