And another chapter! Dark Pit's side special is SOOOOO overpowered in Smash Bros. Oh, yeah, fanfiction. This one's a bit short (I think) but I felt it was an appropriate place to stop. Also, were there indents in the last few chapters? Because it's stopping me from adding indents. Ah well.
DISCALIMER: I OWN NOTHING! (EXPECT IGNAST AND ESSENTIALY EVERY SCENE IS THIS CHAPTER. WHY I AM I STILL USING CAPS LOCK?"
"There you are!" Virdi yelled at Dark Pit. "Where in the Underworld WERE you!?"
"The Chaos Vortex, where else?" Dark Pit said, stabbing at the giant moth with his silver bow.
"For an entire day!?" Virdi said.
"Wait, what?!" Dark Pit said, pushing the Chaos Kin off and activating the power of flight. "I was only in there for 15 minutes!"
"Great," Virdi growled, "the Chaos Vortex also has a time dilation effect!"
"Right," Dark Pit said, shooting at the Chaos Kin as it fell toward the volcano.
"That's why I couldn't use telepathy to you!" Virdi said. "I needed to slow down my speech! One minute there should equal 216 here! And to find you I just need to slow MYSELF down!"
"Good job," Dark Pit said, "you can do math, now a little help?"
"Right," Virdi said, "you're above a volcano right?"
"Yes," Dark Pit said, "what are you planning!?"
"I am the goddess of Nature!" Virdi laughed. "Fire!" Volcano, at that moment, let out a large CRACK! A spout of fire flew out of it, burning that Chaos Kin, which Dark Pit used as a kind of shield to fend off the lava.
"Are. You. Insane?" Dark Pit asked.
"Well, I AM using my power of cooling!" Viridi said, laughing.
"Thanks for that," Dark Pit said, "now what about an amulet of fire protection? That MIGHT help."
"Right, that's going to-" Viridi said, before gasping. "DANG IT HADES! Phosphra's forces are under attack! I'm leaving you!"
"Thanks," Dark Pit said, "I work better on my own anyway!" He smacked the Chaos Kin into the Volcano as the lava dissipated. The Chaos Kin activated it's wings and flew up to Dark Pit, slashing with it's claws. Dark Pit grinned and parried the blows, kicking the Chaos Kin in the face. The insect spiraled out of control, and ended up right below the portal. Immediately Ignast and Magnus fell from it, slamming into the Chaos Kin. Fiery wings protrude from Magnus's back, so Iganst must have used the power of flight on him. After all, Ignast didn't need it for himself. Magnus flew over to the Chaos Kin and slammed it with his giant sword. Ignast circled behind the Chaos Kin and hit it toward Dark Pit. Dark Pit summoned a samurai blade and waited for the Chaos Kin. The moment it was close enough, Dark Pit slammed the blade into the Chaos Kin's head. The Chaos Kin shrieked in pain and slashed at Dark Pit, who quickly flew back a step. He then summoned the tiger claws and pummeled the Chaos Kin. Magnus and Ignast joined the fry, hitting the Chaos as it shrieked in pain. Eventually the Chaos Kin retaliated, releasing a sphere of energy which knocked them back. Pain seared through Dark Pit's body, and he began to dip, falling. His wings weren't strong enough. With one last push, he put all the power left into one flap of his wings. He rocketed skyward, grabbing the Chaos Kin as he did, and flew through the portal. He appeared back in the Coliseum, and immediately fell to the floor. His energy spent, he could only lay there as the Chaos Kin crawled forward, cautious of a trap. Two seconds later, Magnus and Ignast appeared out of the portal. Magnus started to attack the Chaos Kin while Ignast ran over to Dark Pit.
"Power of healing!" Ignast yelled, pointing his palm at Dark Pit. Immediately, Dark Pit felt energy flowing through him, and he jumped up tackling the Chaos Kin through a different portal. Now they were in a large plane, but with mountains on the horizon, just promising for adventure.
Once this craziness is over, Dark Pit thought to himself, I'll go check those mountains out. Dark Pit summoned his silver bow, detaching it. "Let's do this!" Dark Pit yelled, running at the Chaos Kin. The Chaos Kin swiped at Dark Pit, which he parried. They traded blows, each doing minimal damage. "Erg," Dark Pit said as he took a hit to the arm, "fine, I'm ending this!" Dark Pit put his arm up and put all his strength through it. "BLACK HOLE!" Dark Pit yelled, and the spell cast, keeping the Chaos Kin where it was. He flew up, getting a better angle to see the Chaos Kin. "MEGA LASER!" He yelled as loudly as possible shooting a gigantic purple laser directly at the Chaos Kin. The Chaos Kin screeched, before flopping to the ground, hopefully for the last time. Dark Pit stepped forward, ready to stab the Chaos Kin if it wasn't dead. He got right in front of it, and stabbed it. The moment before the blade hit, the Chaos Kin moved faster than anyone could perceive. It did a back flip off the ground, kicking the blade away, and at the same time it impaled it's stinger through Dark Pit's chest. Pain seared, so bad Dark Pit would find sitting in lava to be a respite. He felt as though something important to his life had been torn from his body and was on the stinger. He couldn't take it. With one short gasp he slumped onto the ground, wishing he was dead. He blacked out, but he could still hear somehow.
"Welcome to the afterlife," said a voice, it ringed a bell in Dark Pit's head, he was in too much pain to analyze it. "I'm surprised you're still holding on. Most people die the moment I steal their soul. I'm even using your body, but you still hang onto the miserable pit of hopefulness." And Dark Pit understood. This was HIM talking. The Chaos Kin was using him as a body to speak through.
"You… can't control me…" Dark Pit tried to groan, trying to stand up. The sound wasn't heard, and he couldn't feel his legs move.
"Oh, can't I?" the Chaos Kin said back, still using Dark Pit's voice.
"No," Dark Pit said, and he heard it. It was a tiny, insignificant voice, sure, but it was a voice.
"What!?" the Chaos Kin yelled, in Dark Pit's voice.
"No," Dark Pit repeated, hope surging through his body. "I am my own person. I serve no god. I serve nothing. I choose what I do. I decided who wins and who loses. I decide my own fate. These wings take me where I want to go. I AM DARK PIT!" Dark Pit screamed and he stood up, he felt his muscles moving. He opened his eyes. He was standing up, in the grassy plane. The Chaos Kin was on the ground at his feet, writhing in pain. "DIE!" Dark Pit yelled, summing his Dark Pit staff and pointing it at the Chaos Kin. He shot. In a split second, something hit the staff, making the shot fire an inch from the Chaos Kin. Dark Pit looked up. Ignast and Magnus stood there, looking at Dark Pit with grim faces. Magnus hefted his sword, and Ignast summoned the Wolf Claws. They both, in unison, swiped at Dark Pit, putting a deep gash in his arm.
"What are you doing!?" Dark Pit yelled. The Chaos Kin got up, weak, and flew above Ignast and Magnus.
"Die," they both said at exactly the same time.
"No, no, no!" Dark Pit yelled, summoning his silver bow.
