Tony , Sif and the Warriors Three were having a bad time of it too, for one, there were only five of them, and despite Thor putting Tony 'Howardson' in charge, they had no real leadership. None of the old guys wanted to listen to a pathetic human in a brightly painted tin can. And similar to the movie '300' about the last stand of the Spartans against the Persians, they were barely holding the Cessna.
"Hold the bridge!" Tony ordered, "I'll try to flank them!"
Sif waved him off with a flick of her wrist as he took off, firing his blasters at the oncoming soldiers. And that was when he noticed the trio fighting through the soldiers from the other side.
"B!" He shouted through his radio, "Do you have it?"
There were some blue flashes and the enemy soldiers froze, "I got it Tones," Bella replied happily, "get your ass on the plane, we have giants to find."
Jotunheim seemed for all intensive purposes a wasteland of permafrost, and the wind only whipped at her more as she clung to the escape hatch of the plane as they landed among the spires. She breathed in the cold air, only to start coughing and spluttering. As the others de-planed, she grabbed onto Loki's cape. Somehow she had managed to grip and hold the wing just above the engine, checking for bad guys. There was no radar on this plane as it was civilian, and no one else had the strength to hold onto the frozen metal. She was also very surprised why the engine hadn't iced up yet.
"A little help would be useful if it isn't too much trouble."
Loki put his hands on her waist and lifted her down from the tail of the plane gently, "you may also need this," he wrapped the coat around her shoulders that he had been holding for her.
It was damn cold, but what did she expect from a planet populated by Frost Giants, otherwise known as Smurfs? Tell you what she expected, a few Smurfs . . .
She wrapped the coat around herself, "thanks," it was her coat anyway. He had redeveloped his powers so now he was striding around in his Asgardian armor, and she had to admit, it looked damn good on him, but if she admitted it, it would be a feeding frenzy for the others.
"This is high treason," Hogun made a point to remind them, "it is forbidden by Odin."
"And breaking out of the dungeon and stealing the Casket won't bother him at all," Sif growled, "Lets just get this over with."
Loki glanced around, "at least I will never have to see you again."
"I don't have to worry about your stupid laws," Tony reminded them.
"Sir, do you think it is really wise to insult four large men with swords?" Jarvis chided in his head.
"Did I ask your opinion?" Tony snapped.
"Where are they?" Sif asked.
"Keeping their distance," Thor answered, "as far as they are concerned, a strange metal beast has entered their realm."
"Who are you?" Loki arched an eyebrow at him, "and where are you hiding Thor?"
Volstagg smiled. He remembered last time they had done this, and Thor had definitely changed his tune about the Jotuns. He carried the Casket, as the biggest and the strongest, but also he had the least aptitude for using it, and so it was fairly safe in his hands. Loki had also changed a lot, and he knew that he was not the only one that noticed the way that the traitor, Loki, looked at Isabella of Detroit, the single, mortal mother.
"I am definitely having flashbacks to Arctic survival drills," Bella muttered, shivering; "or perhaps Afghanistan frozen over."
"I don't really like the cold," Loki admitted to her.
"Okay, let me get this straight," Tony started, "you're a left-handed, scrawny Frost Giant that can't stand the cold and has an uncanny liking for salad," he shook his head, "why did you never suspect that you may have been adopted?"
Loki growled, "funnily enough, it is all I ever wished for as a child."
Bella grinned at him, bemused and she sighed. She stopped and held out a protective forearm and she mentioned for them to drop down low among the rocks and ice. Her spidey-senses were tingling again, "defensive perimeter," she mentioned to the rocks starboard, "Sif, Robit," she mentioned port, "Hungry, Hoges," they went into the positions they were assigned, "Fandral, Thor, get our six." Loki and Bella stepped back, guarding the casket. She raised her twin Desert Eagle pistols and Loki raised the Glock that she had handed him.
"Are you sure this will work?" Loki asked her.
"The casket's the source of their power," Bella said, echoing Loki's own words, "they'll find us," she told him, "and I have the sneaking suspicion that they just have."
"To be honest, that sounds like a slow, painful death," Loki bit at her, "I did try to destroy this planet and everything on it a while ago."
"Never mind, Mork, we're already surrounded." They were kneeling behind rocks, and were all but invisible, but Bella knew exactly where each one was. She was a trained Marine, and she knew exactly where an opposing force would station themselves. They weren't attacking.
"What are they doing?" Stark asked.
"They are evaluating their options," Thor narrowed his eyes.
"You'd make a good Marine, Thor," Bella cocked her pistols, "Loki. Think quick. They'll attack any moment."
"You have come a long way to die, Asgardians."
"Can you people say something else?" Volstagg asked them.
Loki snarled something under his breath as the leader of the Frost Giants stepped out to face them. He stood from his position, partially to represent his party and also to stretch out his knee out before it froze and started killing him, "p-p," he started, thinking, "Polo? No. Parsley? No? Parley." The giant looked directly at him, "I invoke the right of parley," Loki continued, "my party and I wish to meet with your king."
"Parley?" the leader repeated, taller and a little bluer than the rest, and he trudged forward up to Loki. The man stood a good few feet above Loki and it looked as though the big, blue guy could simply step on the defrocked prince if he wanted to.
"Yes," Loki said plainly, "you seem a little slow, is there anyone else I can talk to?"
"How come you don't walk around like that?" Bella asked Loki, looking the Frost Giant up and down.
"Stop it," he demanded.
"Half naked or blue?" Tony questioned her.
Bella grinned sheepishly with a sideways glance at Loki, "who says I have to settle for only one option?"
"Bella, please, stop it," Loki rolled his eyes.
"But you'd look fantastic in a kilt."
The giant sneered, "Follow me."
