Happy new year! YAAAAY! 2015! AWESOME YEAR! (Please let Nintendo announce a new Kid Icarus game...) Anyway, here we have a new chapter! There's someone you may have heard of in this chapter. (HINT: The person is dead)
DISCLAIMER: I OWN NOTHING! (Except OC's, of course!)
Dark Pit saw himself, as a ring, held tight in Ignast's hand, as Ignast fought off a swarm of monoeyes. Dark Pit didn't even bother trying to call to him. Rings, after all, didn't have mouths. Slowly, more enemies surrounded Iganst. One managed to hit Ignast's hand, and he let the ring go. It flew threw the air, Dark Pit's vision being pushed to follow it, and began to fall. Below an eggplant wizard stood, about to throw an eggplant onto Iganst. The ring fell on it's finger. Suddenly, Dark Pit's view shifted. He could see through the eggplant wizard's eyes. He tried to move his hand. The eggplant wizard moved his hand.
"What the heck!?" Dark Pit yelled, and he heard his voice. Noticing he had an eggplant in his left hand, he chucked it at a group of monoeyes, which promptly turned into floating eggplants. Ignast turned toward the voice, noticing the eggplant wizard attack the underworld army.
"Dark Pit?" Iganst asked hesitantly.
"Somehow," Dark Pit said, looking at his hands. "It must be whoever wears the ring I can control. Somehow."
"Well, at least you're alive," Ignast said, beginning to fight the underworld army again, and Dark Pit followed. "But I don't have the slightest idea how to bring you back."
"I actually had I kind of vision from the Chaos Kin," Dark Pit said, "it said that the only way to bring me back was to bring PIT back."
"Great…" Ignast said. "Well, how do we find Pit?"
"The Chaos Kin also told me I would be the only one that's able to find him," Dark Pit said.
"Great," Iganst said, "that's SO clear now."
"First thing's first," Dark Pit said, "where are we?"
"I dunno," Iganst said, shaking his head, "at first I thought it was the chaos vortex, but… it's not." Dark Pit looked around. The sky was bright blue, and the ground was made entirely of grass.
"I need to get a better body," Dark Pit said, tossing another eggplant at some enemies. "It's just… weird."
"First, let's take out these enemies," Ignast said, "THEN we work out what to do next."
"Right!" Dark Pit said. They quickly dispatched the enemies, what with Dark Pit's ability to make them incapacitated enmasse. Iganst took a deep breath and stretched, before turning to Dark Pit.
"So," he began, "how do we get out of here."
"You don't," said a voice. The voice seemed to echo, and it kind of drifted away, as if getting further away. Dark Pit and Ignast quickly turned to it. Standing there was a girl. She wore a pure white dress. Her face was blank, but not in a no face way. It was just to generic to BE a face, but wasn't creepy. She had long blonde hair that reached to the ground. She wore no shoes. The girl looked up at Ignast. "You cannot escape this world without being let out by the master."
"Who is the master?" Ignast asked. "And where are we?"
"The master is the Chaos Kin," the girl said, "and this is the area between life and death, between the real world and the underworld. It's an area where souls… exist. We are not dead, but we are not quite alive. We take up one of two forms. One for males and one for females. Very few souls are brought here. Only those the master declares to be part of the chaos. But you are alive, right? I wonder why the master brought you here…"
"Either way," Dark Pit said, "I owe the Chaos Kin a visit. Is there any other way out?"
"Perhaps. If you are one of the living, you may be able to escape. I won't promise anything. But just maybe."
"Thanks! How do we escape?"
"Follow me," the girl said, and she began to walk away, into the vast plain. Dark Pit and Ignast followed. Eventually, they came across a group of people. They were equal in gender, once the girl they had followed joined them. The females all looked the same, and the males did to. The males wore a white long sleeve shirt, white pants, no shoes, and had short brown hair. They also had a generic face.
"Who are you?" Iganst asked their guide.
"By name is Bellum," the girl said, "my father was Magnus, one of the strongest humans."
"Magnus?!" Dark Pit said, practically jumping. "We were just with him!"
"You were with my father?!" the Bellum said, sounding shocked, though her face didn't change. "How is he?"
"He's fine," Dark Pit said, "according to the Chaos Kin, at least."
"The master cannot lie," Bellum replied, her voice showing no feeling again, "he is bound by the rules of great beings. It pleases me to hear he is okay."
"Everyone," Bellum said to the group, "these are living people, we must help them escape this place. Show them the stone." A group of people parted, revealing a stone on the ground. It was just a stone, and was about as large as an apple. Iganst stepped forward, picking it up. Immediately, runes started to swirl around it, glowing brightly. "This has never happened before. The stone may allow you to escape."
"Wait," Dark Pit said. "This isn't my actual body. If I put this ring on anyone of you, I can control your body. I may be able to help one person escape this place. If you aren't afraid to die forever, that is." There was silence for a few seconds, before one of the male souls stepped forward.
"If you get my original body back," the soul said, "it may be of use to you, feel free to use it as long as you need to get yours back. I'm not afraid to be destroyed forever. It will be a respite."
"Thank you," Dark Pit said, and he pulled the ring off. A second later then soul caught it as Ignast dispatched the eggplant wizard. The soul slipped it on. Immediately, Dark Pit was in his body.
"So, how do I use this?" Ignast asked holding up the stone.
"Simply throw it to the ground," Bellum said. "That should bring you back." Ignast nodded, and threw it. There was a flash of light, but Dark Pit wasn't blinded. Probably because of the soul's eyes. Suddenly, he saw Bellum race forward, jumping into the light.
Dark Pit groaned. He was lying on the ground. The ground was made of stone, so they must have made it somewhere. He opened his eyes, looking around. They were in the center of some kind of town. He had appeared as a tall human man. He wore light armor, and had gauntlets on. He wore a long sword on his waist. The coloration of everything was more dark colors, which Dark Pit was fine with. He also wore a dark red scarf. Iganst was next to him, waking up. He looked to his left, and almost jumped. On the ground lay a little girl. She wore a white dress and had brown hair. Her eyes were green, and she wore white sandals. Dark Pit poked her experimentally.
"Bellum?" He asked cautiously. The girl woke up and sat up, nodding.
"It's me," she said, her voice now the voice of a young girl.
"How did you get here?" Dark Pit asked, watching her get up.
"The same way you did," she said, "I just jumped into the light. There wasn't anything to lose anyway. I would either have stayed there, which wouldn't change anything, be destroyed, which would be a step up from where I was, or get here, which would be amazing."
"Dark Pit!" Ignast yelled. "The town's under attack… by Palutena's troops?!"
"What!?" Dark Pit yelled back. "But she's supposed to protect the humans! Wait… the Chaos Kin! If it has control of her body…"
"Right," Ignast said. "We need to stop it. But first let's get back your body."
"What about Bellum?"
"She stays with us, we can't very well let her die. We'll escort her out of the town," Ignast said, summoning his Phoenix arm. "Now let's go beat these guy's to the ground!"
"I'm with you!" Dark Pit said, unsheathing the long sword. It would have to do. He needed to get his body back. He wasn't going to let a bunch of centurions stop him.
For those who doen't feel like doing a google translate, Bellum means Beautiful in latin, while Magnus' name means great. (Well, assuming you make beautiful capital. Otherwise it means war. Huh.) Anyway, happy 2015 peoples! Don't forget to favorite, review and PM! (Also, I'm debating on whether to skip scorched feathers chapter. It's just that it would just be kind of pointless to write it out, the way I see it. PM your opinions on that!)
