He called upon all his powers and jumped from the window of the tall building as the squad descended on the civilians. There was no way he could reach the ground in time if he used the stairs like a normal person or the lift. He tried to levitate, but he couldn't. He started breathing faster, panicking and he wondered if he had made the biggest mistake of his life.

His feet hit something solid but slippery and he opened his eyes. There was a thin sheet of ice under his feet at a shallow angle making a ramp to the street below. He had no idea he could do that. He hit the ground running.

The civilians were teenagers, as the humans said, and they had barricaded themselves between several upturned cars and a school bus, making weapons out of automotive parts and shards of glass. As the -small squad descended, he pulled all his mental faculties together, and with his mind, he lifted the squad of twenty off the ground.

His eyes glowed an intense green as he began throwing the soldiers around into the surrounding brick buildings. Loki couldn't hold the levitation for long. He was out of practice. He smashed his fists into the ground, and water sprayed up from an underground pipe. He froze it and threw the drops at the soldiers who were all coming towards him, out for blood. They pierced through the oncoming soldiers like bullets.

One of the younger teenagers, a boy with feathery blonde hair, was holding a camera phone up, catching all of the action on film.

Bella smacked down one of the Frost Giants with her metal arm after the rifle was ripped from her grasp. She took shelter behind the abandoned car for a moment, but otherwise kept moving.

She narrowed her eyes. It was time for her weapon of last result, the laser that Stark had built into her arm. Standing up, she flexed her fist then held out her metal hand. A hole opened up in her palm and she turned quickly, shredding through the enemy soldiers and leaving her men ducking for cover.

All of the enemy soldiers fell down dead, "a little warning next time!" Hawkeye shouted at her.

She arched an eyebrow, "take cover."

STARK TOWER 1530

The device was ready, as were his army. They were small in number, and were greatly outnumbered by the humans. But the humans were merely cattle, mindless drones that could be bent to his will. He had already taken control of the Avengers, the mightiest warriors of this realm, and now they were entirely under his control, his warriors. They only had one mission, destroy Loki and his companions.

When the rift opened, unlimited power would be his to tap, and the girl would be the faucet to channel it, a weak-minded child with a useful mutation, a means to an end, nothing more. The power would tear her apart, so he had to be quick with his universal remodeling.

One of his men held the little girl solid by his strong arms. The woman inhabitant of the tower was held at knife point by another one of his warriors.

He had mulled over this point for a long time, incredibly public, perfect for the frame-up, so he would not be caught until it was too late. Everybody would be too busy looking at Loki, the famed destroyer of New York to even look twice at him. That and the fabric of the universe was especially weak here, and a gateway to the void. From here, he could tear down and remodel every realm, every universe, in his own image.

The device finally charged, shooting a red beam into the sky which opened up into new stars. The girl screamed with rage, and began to pummel the warrior with her tiny fists, "Mom's gonna kill you!" she insisted, "Mom's gonna rip your lungs out, and Loki's gonna hold you down!"

Utgardaloki smiled a creepy smile, "adorable," he said, "absolutely adorable," he grabbed her arm, "my dear, you shall be the last person alive and see the universe get torn down and rebuilt in my image."
