Camila now knows Vee's secret and the basilisk is feeling rather stressed out. Thankfully she can escape and use Luz's form to pretend to be normal, a life where she had friends and a real future. The inspiration for this story is bizarre. I saw what I thought was a spoiler and constructed an entire headcanon around it before watching the episode and realizing I interpreted it entirely wrong. This is what it would have been like were my headcanon right.
