A/N Ok so first of all I wanna start by doing something that's been slipping my mind this whole time. I want to give a big a big shout out to Goddess of Imaginary, NinjaTiger, and Wolves567. So now here we go.
We walked onward, despite how tired and hungry I was, I wasn't complaining because he wasn't. I followed him he seemed to know where he was going. We didn't say anything to each other, up until this point.
"So I bet youre happy you don't have to wear that armor." He said.
Finally he said something I thought he was gonna stab me or something I thought to myself.
"Yeah, that's true it gets heavy after a while" I said.
"I am sure, I had to wear something similar a long time ago but it was lighter, it had different symbols, different ranks, and different ideologies in way I am still wearing it." He said.
"How so?" I asked.
"Once you take it off for good you truly know what it means to have been freed from slavery, but that don't necessarily mean you ever forget the life that you used to live. It'll always haunt you, the things you do" He said.
Surprisingly his words made sense.
"I guess so, I'll have a lot of ghosts around me though" I said.
"Yeah you will, but you've got an advantage most other soldiers don't" he said.
"Oh?" I asked "What's that?"
"Well think about what you've got waiting for you back at home." He said.
I thought it for a moment.
"I guess you're right, it makes it easier when you got someone to love and someone to love you back." I said.
I thought for a moment.
"Wait I am dead though, wont it be kind of weird to go walking up there." I asked.
He stayed silent a moment.
"You were dead, but now you're alive. Trust me they'll be happier to see you then anything else." He said.
"Are you so sure, I mean we kind of broke the valley of peace." I said "The last thing they want to see is more men in uniform."
"They'll rebuild, you may have caused more damage than an angry army of Mongols, but Material possessions can be replaced, your side payed the heaviest cost." He said.
"How did you even know about the battle? It was in an isolated part of the country." I asked.
"I hear and see everything" He said "What you feel I feel, what you see I see."
"Oh so you're like that guy that comes into my sleep every time something bad is about to happen." I said.
"If that's what you want to call me I am just and black and blue Tiger that wanders around." He said.
I paused for a moment…
"Then how did you get on that plane, how did you know about CABAL, how did you know what was going on." I asked.
"Because, like I said nothing ever gets past me, I know everything before it happens." He said.
"Well then what's going on what is CABAL doing?" I asked.
"Heh heh, for you knowing everything just isn't enough is it? Oh well if you must know he's doing exactly what he did long ago just in a different fashion." He said.
"What fashion? I can't see him doing anything yet, except… building an army" I said realizing the truth.
"Yeah makes sense now doesn't it? Look, machines will always make the most predictable moves, No matter how much power it has or how many shards of the Tacitus it has in it." He said.
"Yeah, I'd say you're right." I said.
There was a silence.
"So what are you doing in this world?" I asked.
"Well you'll know soon enough, but for now just stick to your own business." He said.
"Ok then… So what happens after we get back?" I asked.
"We part ways…" he said sternly.
The way he said that just put an uneasy feeling in me.
"Then why did you come to get me if you were just gonna leave me." I asked.
"Well I didn't have anything else better to do." He said.
Now that was a lie, no one is going to go miles to get someone they know nothing about. I began to feel like he was going to betray me at any moment.
"Oh… and just for your information" he said turning around "I am not going to hurt you."
So now not even my own thoughts were private, glorious… But I actually did believe him.
I didn't know what to say so I just said "Good".
He nodded and then turned around and kept on walking.
"Because Tigress has a good arm on her" he continued on.
"Yeah I'd say so, she has tried to kill me. Can I tell you a secret?" I asked.
"Yeah" he said.
"Not that I didn't enjoy our romantic moments, but those moments were my most favorite." I said a little embarrassed.
"Yeah… those were real bonding moments, I'm sure…" he said with a laugh.
"Well no I am serious, when she gets mad she starts growling and her fangs start flashing, her ears go down, and her face gets this mean look on it. Oh and the claws come out." I said.
"Oh yes I'm sure that's very sexy" he said sarcastically.
"If only you knew man…" I said.
He laughed.
"Well then hey I'm sure you'll see plenty more of that, as a matter of fact I am sure when you get back you might see some of that." He said giggling.
"Yeah you're probably right." I said.
That was the end of that part of the conversation.
"So when are we gonna get some food." I asked in defeat.
"Oh I'm so glad you asked the answer is whenever we come across some" he said.
So we would have starved because both of us didn't want to wine I thought to myself.
Eventually we came up on some wild berries.
And we ate our fill.
Then we marched on.
Meanwhile…
"So this is what an airplane crash looks like." Kane said to himself.
"Interior scans indicate a small breaching charge was placed from the interior." A built in CABAL program in one of the cyborgs accompanying him said.
"So this was sabotage." Kane said.
"There is a distinct possibility there, sir" it said.
"So if that's the case someone is on to us." Kane said
"Yes" it said.
"But how did it get on there, the only thing there was a bunch of bodies, one would have, had to come back to life, got out of the tube, and did this." Kane said taking a few steps forward.
"That is highly illogical, there is another scenario." It said.
Kane turned back to it.
"Something snuck onboard and did this." It said.
Kane thought a moment.
"But why? Why would someone do this?" He said.
"All but one body was recovered." It said.
"Who was he?" Kane asked.
"A young South African Male by the name of Nikolas Norrison." It said.
"Show me." Kane said.
It displayed an image using a built in hologram emitter.
There he was a young man that looked similar to Anton Slavik.
Kane looked at him for a moment.
"He looks familiar, compare him to Anton Slavik." Kane said.
It then displayed a second image and combined the two, the two were very similar.
Kane nodded…
"That will be all CABAL let's move out." Kane said.
They loaded up on their troop carriers and left the wreckage.
