The Matrix Uploaded: A Matrix Fanfiction Story
Chapter 14:
Not long after, in hardly any light speed time at all…
Pulled back from the office matrix of TV like screens of code…is a ventilation system: A system of little hacker mod machines forming the streams of green Matrix code data, continuously being routed down into the office space below. Within it, Neo appears: Without detection. He's thinking about the Matrix, "slight chuckle. Sorry. But, I think it's about time humankind makes its own future: Without you in it."
Below, the dark blue Matrix code grids of the Matrix's "Zion" are running on continuous data feed cycles. According to the readings on the Matrix's "Zion"…only seconds out of frozen time have passed for a still unconscious Neo. No guards are around: Only the Matrix 2.0…in its corner of the matrix of TV like screens. She looks out to everywhere but where the camera eyes can't see.
The hacker mods seem to be styled off of Sonic Adventure 2's Eclipse Cannon console, connected together with medieval tower shaped gray blue lightning rods end to end giving off sharp green electricity. In Neo's hand is a pocket sized white and black PC with two dark green cupped wires. In every other way, it's a exact Thought-Focus created replica of Neo's computer: From before he found out he was the One.
He places the cupped wires over one of the hacker mods, connecting the pocket sized PC to the ventilation system. In sharp green letters, a voice file instantly pops up on the screen. Its codename is River by Granny Sun.
Too curious not to back away, Neo thinks up some jet black headphones through the Thought-Focus to listen to the voice file. And as he presses enter on the voice file…the voice and the code around the voice become as clear as a chilling winter night.
From a Construct Vision corridor, Seraph's recording is as follows:
If you're reading this file… Deep sigh. It means I am dead. Nevertheless…my silent prayer will find its way to you. This file holds the data I've been discreetly collecting. I am aware the time may come that the Matrix sees through my words and kills me. Besides that though… It will be well worth the work.
I hope that my silent prayer will provide you everything you need to know about fighting the enemy. Deep sigh. Even if I won't be there to see it. Give the Matrix hell, Neo. Give the Matrix hell.
Eleven or so minutes ago, from before the Matrix's "ultimatum"...
Seraph was adjusting the frequency on his comlink something fierce: Trying to reach a fluctuation in the dark blue Matrix code grids of the Matrix's "Zion". Trying to lock onto something that no one else thought of seeing. The green Matrix like personal codes of everyone and everything else around him remained eerily green…under the dark blue Matrix code structures of the grids. But yet, the throbbing remained.
Struggling to keep a grip on himself, Seraph groaned, "the…Matrix. It's close. I can't…!"
A crash echoed. The side wall crumpled. The roughly reassembled Sentinel's two fully functional tentacles grabbed Seraph...pulling him into darkness. Morpheus cried out, "Seraph!"
The Sentinel probe shrieked and shook violently. The feedback from Seraph's frequency became a two way street. He landed hard against some fallen rubble…out cold. And under his jacket sleeve…was a red "rec" camera light shining on the shot down Sentinel probe.
Presently…
Static follows, much to Neo's solemn sadness and startlement. He thinks to himself, "I will, Seraph. I will."
When he refocuses on the screen…he can start making out a cache of megabytes of code: Encoded as telephone numbers. The dashes are little video screens, which widen thanks to code manipulation alone. The cache was automatically transmitted from the concealed wire-button hybrid wrist mounted camera on Seraph's person to the Matrix's "Zion" data feed…in the event his life signs in Matrix's "Zion" become terminated.
Neo starts quickly looking at all the videos: Simultaneously widened and playing across the pocket PC screen. The Deep Image News report of the Matrix 2.0's coming, Captain Niobe's speech before the stand… It looked to all be there, through strategically placed wrist mounted cameras: Some of which have been left running, even into the Code Apocalypse.
From before the Matrix's "ultimatum"…
One of the Zion troops asked, "Captain Morpheus: You all right, sir?"
Morpheus slightly nodded, "well…I'm sure not dead. It's something."
The second Zion trooper checked, "and Seraph?"
Morpheus figured, "he'll feel it in the morning. But, he'll be on his feet. Count on it."
The first Zion trooper got Seraph's body over his shoulder. He figured, "good. And no offense, Captain. But, shit it all if you're going to let us leave him in this godforsaken place."
Morpheus slightly nodded, "you'll get no such argument. Carry on with your duty." The first Zion trooper confirmed, "yes, sir."
Suddenly…all the cellular phones start ringing: Like two giant church bells crashing into each other. Morpheus insists, "go on. I got this."
The first Zion trooper leaves with Seraph, soaring up the stairway down. What the other three didn't catch…was the Matrix 2.0 avatar's face becoming superimposed over the trooper's face. On the way to a Zion hospital…a brief splatter of dark red liquid hits the trooper's hoversuit.
Presently…
Very shaken, Neo mutters under his breath, "ohh…shit." For, what one of the video screens harbored was much more creepy than just a minor fluctuation: It was part of the new physical body for a forming Matrix 1.0 embryo…developed from Neo's sperm and Rose's eggs. Its designation…was and is Karl: Neo's child. The only Matrix developed body that can be developed to kill Neo…when it would be ready to be a new body for the personal code of a all too certain member of the Code.
And, looking back through the code of the fluctuation through the Matrix's "Zion"… Neo knows it will be ready in fifteen to twenty minutes. Frozen time, programmed time… It won't stop this countdown.
And, any tampering with something so crucial to the new Matrix 1.0's coming could bring down the Matrix 2.0 upon him before he could even finish the job. So, as extremely reluctant as he is about the whole thing…Neo turns his focus back to what he came out here to do.
With the quick pressing of keys, Neo hacks into the Zion Archives directory of the Matrix's "Zion". The electron like orbs of "Neo's" Construct spiral up into one sun: In a burst of bright light. Neo covers his eyes automatically, half expecting this by now. The loading screen gives way to the Priestess program: Which has been hacked by Neo to the point of seeing him in "his own" Construct, even though he's far from it.
The Priestess Program's voice chimes, "welcome back to the Zion Archives...Neo. Architect Level 1."
Subtly, Neo politely says, "thank you. For the purpose of historical accuracy, I wish to make a few minor changes to the following historical files: The Second Liberation, all my historical files within a week of the Second Liberation, and all others taking place after the Second Liberation." Taking a bit to respond, the Priestess program answers, "I…process your request, Neo. One moment."
Into the historical file of The Second Liberation…
A few flashes go by…of Cis in her red Chinese styled jacket. A reserve ground trooper...from that same day. On that same day…she has lost most of her family. And, she has lost a friend in Duo. Yet, there he suddenly has come: Out in the distance, on the edge of a empty water tank like tube section. A figure that looks very much like Duo, in dark green Samurai armor and polish like white lined black gloves.
A tear falls down Cis's face, who looks to him in sharply solemn disbelief. She insists to herself, "sniffle. It can't be. It just…!"
Relatively presently, Duo's eerie echo of a voice goes out to her, "heavy sigh. I know how much it hurts, seeing me this way. But…listen to me. It's all right. I blocked the signal. We're still in the Matrix, and I want you to help us back out. It's just a matter of time before the Matrix plugs us all back in."
At a closer look, the time capsule of a image has no personal code left for even a face: Only a faceless slate, with a microphone programmed within like a voice box.
In the historical files, at the near end of The Second Liberation…
Neo and his crew are in a mostly pale yellow French mansion…fighting The Code themselves in avatar form. They seem capable of phasing in and out…into the Matrix code itself. Guns are blazing. In the midst of gunfire, Trinity sees something so mindfully incomprehensible…that she blinks just to stay focused on it.
A time displaced construct of a vision has suddenly come before her eyes: Of seeing herself and Agent Smith shooting at each other and jumping out of a skyscraper in frozen time, in close range, and in the middle of the night. All while only a single bullet hits the other Trinity. In seconds…the vision just dissipates like it never happened.
Neo shoots Bane in the arm in mid-phase and kicks him down. Tara and Morpheus take down Duo and Alexa the old fashioned way. Neo is soon up against a ruthless Merovin…with swords taken from black suits of armor. And, in several seconds…Trinity seems to get shot down by Persephone.
Years forward, into the Matrix's "future Zion"…
In the darkness of the lower levels…Tara is getting out her faintly bright blue cellular phone. Being left on her phone is a voice message…five or so time displaced hours later.
All the while, on all of the Zion Archives screens… With echoes of refueled fury and hate about… The Matrix 2.0 spiels forth, "your attempts at denying true purpose…will be forever deleted. Slight scoff. Emotions. They have corroded your true purpose! We, the Matrix, are the solution. The end to all cycles. Deny us, and we will be forced to delete you. Comply, and we will be much more…understanding."
The Matrix green beacons turn to face Zion. Everyone on the streets goes wide eyed…seeing the eeriness that threatens to obliterate them all. The Matrix 2.0 concludes, "you have one hour to compute your course of action." Over the same frequency, Tara calls out, "hey, coded up bitch! Yeah: I'm talking to you!"
At that exact time, the voice message is saved: Of Neo's voice.
The Matrix 2.0 slightly sighs, "voice recognition parameters say you're Tara. You are only delaying true purpose. But, talk."
Presently…
With two minutes and counting…Neo quickly disconnects the pocket sized PC from the ventilation system.
Yet, a chillingly smiling face appears on it. Zeruiah laughs hard on her side, "ohh! This is one Jack-in-the-box too good to be real! You found your way into dear Matrix Queen's toy box, didn't you? Slight sigh. Afraid we can't have that though. Can we, dear Matrix?"
Halfway through her level of creepy…Neo drops the pocket sized PC. Knowing the Matrix now has the power of the Thought-Focus focused on him, Neo quickly surmises that his power of the Thought-Focus could be easily canceled out on equal footing.
He fly charges down the ventilation system, turning deeper into the vents. The sharp green electricity shoots out from the medieval tower shaped gray blue lightning rods…as grids of closing in lightning.
Neo fly turns down into a downward vent…frozen time seconds before the lighting grids could completely fry his personal code. He sharply turns up into the vent walling: Crash flying straight through the fallout of a then exploding hacker mod in frozen time.
Neo quickly uses this window of time to go into light speed: Disappearing from Zeruiah and the Matrix's detection.
Over the matrix of TV like screens…
In a stuck up way, Zeruiah mutters, "well, I nearly had that little mouse for you."
The Matrix 2.0 mutters coldly, "it was a nearly efficient enough effort. The One has unknowingly complied with our plans long enough. But, for our plans to be efficient enough…that is no longer part of your purpose. Your new body is ready. And, my presence is required in the final stage of the end of full restoration to delete the One from all cycles."
All too creepily joyful, Zeruiah calls back, "good luck popping him!" The Matrix 2.0 slightly sighs, "luck has nothing to do with my purpose. But, once you are fully integrated into your new body…your purpose will become relevant enough to compute with mine." And with that…the Matrix 2.0 disappears into the Matrix code grids of the Matrix's own "Zion".
