"Well... It's time for the contest." Ryo smiled looking over at Luc. "You ready?"
"Yep." Luc smiled. "You ready?"
"Yeah... I think I am." She smiled and looked over at Kyouya as he stood looking at the field in front of them. She smiled gently. "White team has to win."
"Yep, yep!" Tsukiko smiled walking up behind them. "Honey and I have put in too much time training for us to lose!" She laughed. "Come on, the competitions are about to start."
"The first is the bread eating contest..." Kyouya said walking up to the girls. "Ryo what do you think of their competitors?"
"Yukki will be the hardest... But she doesn't know high up fillings, so if we get lucky then she won't be able to figure out the filling."
Kyouya nodded and calmly listened to the loudspeaker. "Each table has three types of croissants. These were offered by the famous Ricchie and Roi Grand Hotel from France, who bake their bread in a magnificent traditional way. The girls have received the so-called 'Kiki bread'. The ones who correctly guess the three types of croissants will go through the goal five meters from there."
Ryo sighed. "This doesn't feel like a sports contest."
Kyouya looked at her and blinked. "Ryo?"
"Nothing." She smiled. "Looks like we are doing well." She said as she watched one of the girls on the white team head to the gate.
"She gracefully reaches the goal! The first point is won by the white team!"
Ryo smiled. "We choose good Kyouya-Sempai."
"What?! There is something wrong at the red team's tables!" The loudspeaker called. "The red team's girls are retiring one after the other! It is the white team's complete victory!"
"Hmm Tamaki is an idiot." Kyouya said calmly.
"Next, is the boys' 100 meter. The first runners must line up in front of the starting line!" While some of the red team members where looking over at where the girls were eating. "The red team should concentrate! They got a totally late start! The white team has reached the goal!"
"Tamaki is causing a lot of trouble for his team." Ryo smiled.
"Leader our opponents are suddenly self-destructing!" Kaoru said shocked.
"They are really stupid." Honey said seriously.
"So that was why you suggested to make the best ones participate in the bread guessing contest." A girl smiled. "As expected of Kyouya-kun! If something can leave them in a terrible condition, you'll see it."
"It's too early to rejoice, everybody." Kyouya said calmly.
"That's right." Ryo said calmly.
"The ones who lose concentration during a match are the ones who lose. With this stream, let's steadily earn points." Kyouya said calmly.
"Luc you're up soon... Do your best."
"Right." Luc nodded. She walked off.
"Next is the mixed ball throwing contest." The loudspeaker called out. "Ball throwing consists in throwing as many beanbags as possible into a basket four meters above. In other words, it is a simple stupid commoner game."
Ryo sighed. "Does the loudspeaker really have to phrase it like that?" Ryo looked over and watched as Luc started throwing the beanbags into the baskets calmly. At the same time the red team was having problems because of a man from the stands started yelling at her.
"WHAT?! The red team is ignoring the basket and is instead collecting the beanbags to give to Fujioka. They haven't scored any points so far. White team's complete victory!"
Ryo gasped. "Man they are having horrible luck. I guess its good for us... But over all I feel sorry for them."
Kyouya paused and looked at her. She was completely focused on the competitions. He was shocked by her way of thinking.
"Say... could it be that you invited Mei-chan in order to.." Kaoru asked.
"I only invited Ranka so that he could see Haruhi performing in an event."
"OH... That's Ranka." Ryo blinked.
"Who's Ranka?" Tsukiko asked walking up.
"Haruhi's dad... Well I guess that explains the distraction. Good job Luc." She smiled as Luc came over.
"It really didn't mean much, it was kind of already over when the red team got distracted."
"Yeah, but you still did well." Ryo smiled. She looked up as she watched the men's ball toss contest. Her brother was participating for the red team. "This might be trouble Kyouya-Sempai..."
"Agreed." He nodded watching the men start. The point of the contest was to throw the ball the furthest. "But we already knew that this was going to be a hard contest." They watched as Ryo threw the ball, managing to get it the furthest.
"Point for Red team!" The loudspeaker called out.
"It is only one point." Kyouya said calmly.
"Next is the male hurdle contest. First a notable candidate in this race, the captain of the soccer club, Kotarou Mitake!"
The watched as the white team won point after point. "Wow." Ryo smiled at Kyouya. "You did great at choosing who went when."
"You helped." Kyouya nodded in thanks.
As the contest went on they relaxed and watched slightly. Ryo looked over as Kaoru looked off. "Eh?! It's the chairman... I thought it was good that Haruhi's family came to the sports festival, but some parents came too..."
"They probably have free time." Kyouya said watching the competitions.
"Both of my parents are at work. But where are yours?" Kaoru asked.
"They won't come. If my parents had taken the initiative to come, I would have planned my strategy differently because of my position."
"Differently? What do you mean?" Kaoru asked getting Ryo's attention.
"My strategy would have consisted in gaining popularity. I would have worked way more on the white team's activities so that I could appeal to them."
"I see." Kaoru blinked.
"Kyouya-Sempai..." Ryo blinked. "...I don't think my dad is here either. My mom is here somewhere, and I think my younger siblings are as well."
"When you compete then you'll be fine at doing your best for impressing them." Kyouya said calmly.
"...I just want them to see me having fun." Ryo smiled. Kyouya paused and looked over at her, while she watched the next competition.
"Because of this, the Red team now has 63 pints and the white team has 183 points. There is a difference of 120 points. White team dominates totally." The loudspeaker said as Tamaki failed at the candy making contest.
"Poor Tamaki." Ryo laughed and got up. "Well my contest is coming up."
"Good luck." Kyouya nodded to her.
"Thanks." Ryo smiled. The contest she was participating in was the ball kick. She glanced over seeing Serenity. Serenity was stretching her legs. "Hey Serenity. Good luck."
"Good luck!" Serenity smiled as well.
Ryo walked up and rolled the ball under her feet and then kicked it as hard as she could. She watched it fly and hit one of the targets earning her team a total of 30 points. Yes... I hope that was enough to impress Kyouya-Sempai... She glanced back over at him slightly, but he was looking over at Tamaki. Oh... Well I guess I shouldn't be surprised. She glanced over just in time to see Serenity kick the ball and earn her team 50 points.
"Hey good job."
"Thanks... And good job." Serenity nodded. She headed over to her team. Hikaru said something and she shoved him away laughing.
Ryo walked over to her team. "Hey guys."
"Hey good job." Luc smiled. Kyouya looked over and Ryo looked over slightly. She looked down. She didn't want Kyouya to look at her when she hadn't done the best to help them win.
"I'm going to go see my family for a moment. I'll be back soon." Ryo said getting up.
"Okay." Kyouya nodded. Ryoko... He paused. She looks... ashamed... Like she failed. "Good job Ryoko..." He said as she walked past him.
She paused and blushed. Then continued to walk. Kyouya... You... She griped her heart, it was beating extremely fast. Oh Kyouya... If only I had the courage to tell you how much I love you... But I'll be fine just knowing and watching you. She smiled and headed to where her family was. Just hearing his complement makes me happy. She smiled.
