Good reading!

"Good thing that they were willing to buy the clothes we bought in Jade country and in Koriya…" Fay crouched on the floor of their new temporary home.

'What was this country's name again?' She asked to herself, immediately remembering it.

Outo. Curios country by its first impression. The fact that they were greeted with joyful girls asking if they were from another world was rather shocking. But the group quickly understood that in this world, travelling dimensions was rather common. It also seemed quite safe…

As they walked the streets and entered buildings she noticed the modern civilization, with each and every citizen happily living their lives. Everyone had a pleasant smile on their faces and everyone seemed quite nice. Mirihanna was pleased with this. Seeing a peaceful city once in a while was always something to cherish.

'I wish some day my home will be like this…'

She sat next to Sakura in the only furniture available, which was wobbling her head sideways next to Mokona. When it came to physical resistance, Mirihanna was not a good candidate…even with her immortal resistance (which could be compared to the strength of a man trained for war in his whole life), she knew that her "trump card" was always her magic and not her energy. With this said, the two days walking restless in the burning sand of the previous world made her muscles sore…she was sure that her pain was nothing to compare to the rest of the group but still, she felt that a comfy sofa and a soft blanked was very well deserved.

"Is it alright to be this relaxed? Maybe someone is spying on us. Right now." She heard Kurogane mutter darkly behind her. She glanced backwards to see his tall figure blocking the moonlight coming from the huge window.

"Hmm…but we can't be all tense up every minute of the day! You should loosen up once in a while!" Fay said while snuggling his furry coat on the floor. Mirihanna stretched her arms up in the air, completely secure of their safety. Her animal instincts never failed her, and since they came into this world, she felt no danger.

"YOU ARE WAY TOO RELAXED." She giggled at the two men.

"I'm certain-" she elegantly started "-that a night spent in an appropriate shelter will bring us no harm…" Sakura nodded satisfied with the comment with her sleepy eyes, and slowly slipped her head on the sofa's arm rapidly drifting to sleep. Mirihanna picked the blanket and covered the girl's body. With this action, Syaoran looked at both of them and gave them a smile.

"You became quite close to Sakura-Hime." Mirihanna brushed a lock of hair behind the girl's ear and in a cat-like way, slipped herself on the other side of the sofa, supporting her knuckle on her temple. Her long silvery white locks of hair slid gently over her body.

"Princesses have to take care of each others." She mocked winning a warm smile of both Syaoran and Fay. Mokona took this opportunity to jump onto her lap, also winning some affection from the girl.

"Now…" She started "To prevent any further mistakes…" She smiled down at the creature that giggled shyly. The rest of the group gathered closer understanding what she meant while Mokona closed its eyes in concentration.

"Although it's very faint…I can sense the power of Sakura's feather…" The girl released a relieved breath.

"That settles then." Mirihanna rolled her body with her belly up while holding Mokona and shifted sideways, trying to find the perfect position to enjoy a small slumber.

"We shall start the search tomor…." She was cut off. Something blasted throw the window, shattering the glass into a million pieces. She opened her eyes surprised but her reflexes were not enough. Kurogane swiftly picked the girls with each arm and jumped backward with the rest of the guys.

Completely impressed at her lack of intuition, she froze in Kurogane's arm, holding his shoulder for support. Looking backwards, into the direction on the now broken window, she saw a dark disfigured creature with shiny eyes and sharp long claws crackling in their direction.

Fay stole a glance at her. He was also surprised at the sudden attack.

"We just moved in and there's already an unexpected guest." Mirihanna looked at Fay with a surprisingly disapproval expression. She motioned the ninja to give her the small girl, and he did. Hurrying behind the men, she dragged Sakura behind a small counter hoping that it would give her a safe shelter.

The creature spread its long arm sideways and sliced the wind with its claws at an incredibly speed.

'How did I not felt it?' The though was killing her from the inside. She sat knelled next to Sakura gazing at the ground. Here she thought to be completely secure of herself, only to find a flaw. The creature aimed to the young boy, swinging and slashing at every chance it had. Syaoran evaded every single blow but his enemy was getting closer by every evasion. With no weapons or anything to defend, the two men could only run and dodge their opponent. The creatures shrieked loudly, snapping her out of her thoughts. Mirihanna jumped into battle, right after glancing at the sleeping girl safely hidden behind the counter. Although the house was big and wide, four people and a giant beast made that space 3 times smaller.

'Should I use it…' She wondered. But no. The space was too tight and her skill with her Light powers were still too premature… She couldn't risk abusing her power and suffering a side effect…something that she deeply feared. But the creature was making some dangerous moves towards them…and they were all defenseless.

'Perhaps…yes, it might work' A defensive barrier. She used it hundreds of times before and nothing goes wrong with it. All she had to do was focus her power into a strong sturdy invisible wall, preventing any kind of passage through it. Plus, she might be able to push the creature out of the building with it.

'Excellent.' She said to herself.

The creature kept throwing its deadly blows towards them; she got closer to Fay who was easily dodging every move.

It seemed that it had already chosen its adversary. Syaoran.

"We must do something." She told him with worry and took a step closer to the beast but a strong grasp in her wrist blocked her movement. Looking backwards, Fay's hand kept her distance from the tall monster. Mirihanna gave him a confused look but in the corner of her eye, she could see the beast swing a blow at her. She raised her hand in front of her with confidence, focusing her mind on the creation of the light barrier only to feel…nothing. Her eyes widened. The familiar ticklish sensation on the tip of her fingers was absent and in front of her, separating herself and the creature, was only air. It was all happening in slow motion inside her mind.

Her mouth slowly opened in awe, realizing that she was not in possession on her powers.

Its claws approaching with great speed towards her.

Her life, hanging on a string with such stupidity.

But something pulled her backwards and she remembered that she was not alone. Fay's hand was still gripped on her wrist and was pulling her body towards him, preventing a fatal blow. She gasped, felling the impact of his slim body. Luckily to them, the creature was completely dedicated on Syaoran.

Being cornered by the creature and the wall, Syaoran suffered a blow in his arm. Mirihanna's eyes widened. She jumped by impulse and called the boy's name, but Fay prevented her from approaching any further with his arms around her shoulders. It glanced to them and Syaoran took this chance to climb the wall and kick the creature's head with the force of gravity. A terrifying scream escaped its fangs and slowly the creature started dissolving on the floor. They were all silent for a moment, taking their time to snap back to reality.

"Good job!" It was always Fay's job to break the ice. Mirihanna was still in shock with the situation and still in his arms.

"Why the hell did you jump into this fight for nothing, woman!?" Kurogane had the most hateful expression in his face. He knew her better than that, she wouldn't make a fool out of herself.

"I…don't have it." He frowned, confused.

"What?" Asked the boy.

"My power…it is absent. I-I couldn't use it. Like if…like if I never had it in the first place..." Fay remained silent as she observed her tiny hands trembling with the strange situation.

He looked down at her. She had her back at his chest. He thought she was so warm. But seeing her like this, lost in her thoughts, troubled him. Not that he hadn't seen her like this. The first weeks they spend together were cold and distant. Now that she was closer and her spirits higher then never, witnessing a downfall for the first time was dreadful. He couldn't lie to himself anymore, he already lied enough as it is. He felt something for her. His mind told him not to involve but his heart was screaming louder.

There was no going back now. He took opportunities like this to linger a little longer to her. In the end, he still had her in his arms. And curiously enough, she did not complain or even bother.

'I wonder if this has something to do with her culture…' After all, she was Dragon Born. Descendent of Gods. Immortal.

How do superior beings interact with other? How do they treat each other? Is physical contact something banal or something to be respected? He knew her story and thoughts about humans in her world, but he did not know what she though of them specifically.

If only she would notice his interest…

'Better off this way…' He wouldn't know how to speculate the future with her in it.

She truly did not notice the absent of magic in this world, which surprised him. Fay swore that he would never use his magic again, but still, that didn't mean he couldn't sense it. As strangely as it sounded, he knew well that in this world there was no chance to use magic.

"This is indeed a strange country…" He said releasing the ever so sweet embrace.

That night she did not sleep. The thought of her missing powers meddling her mind constantly prevented any slumber. What could have gone wrong for this to happen? Not even her healing powers were active.

'Did I misused it?' The fight with Kyle flashed through her mind.

'Oh Mirihanna, what have you done….' Her head was resting on the sofa's arm, her body curled up as an infant. The sun was already up and she was exhausted, even so, she pretended to be asleep. Syaoran, Mokona and Fay has left to get information of what had happened the previous night, and the rest of the crew were staying put.

"You should have rested." Opening her eyes she saw Kurogane looking at her from the corner of his crimson eyes.

"How…did you know?" She asked slowly sating up and brushing her hair behind her ears.

"You're breathing. It didn't slow down during the night…" She blinked a couple of times at him, clueless. "…Meaning you were awake." He finished in a matter of factly way.

"Well…that is quite peculiar." Now he was the was not comprehending.

"Knowing that you listen to me breath during the night." She teased. He frowned at her.

"It's my job to listen and stay alert…I was trained my whole life like this." He defended himself with a hint of annoyance. Mirihanna nodded without much care. She was mentally exhausted. The ninja made an "tsk" sound at her and proceeded.

"You're worried about your powers." Bull's eye.

"And about the mage." She looked at him surprised. Even she was not sure of this second statement. He did save her that night, but how he predicted the outcome of that fight was beyond her comprehension. Kurogane kept his eyes locked unto hers.

"You might think that you were the one hiding yourself from others. But you're sure not the only one." The girl looked down for a second.

"I guess it is like he mentioned earlier. We all came here with our circumstances." She quoted the blonde and heard some muttering from the dark man. Probably some cussing about the "stupid mage". She giggled softly at him, winning another irritated expression. This little rattle was starting to get amusing. Since he was sitting on the floor next to her, she decided to rest the tip of her fingers on the man's shoulder and he snapped at her confused.

"Thank you… for caring." She said with a gentle smile, recognizing his concern.

"What was the name of your Princess?"

"…Tomoyo."

"…She's fortunate to have you." She could see the small pink blush on the man's cheek. His embarrassment turned him upside down. He looked away from her and acted as if nothing happened and her smile widened.

"You damn Princesses are all the same…"

"You mean our eminent grace?" She asked him between giggles and he remained silent as a tomb.

And before she could steal more information, the other arrived.

"We are back!" Kurogane released a presumably relief sign but quickly started boiling up as the Mage teased him.

"Did Kyro-Woofy stay at Home like a good boy?"

"I TOLD YOU NOT TO CALL ME LIKE A DOG DAMNIT."

"Mirihanna-San, are you okay?"

"Don't worry love." She reassured the boy.

"Hey, we have decided on our jobs." Fay said.

"Oh?" Mirihanna said surprised. She was not aware of this.

'What type of work could I possible fill…' All the work she ever did was attending royal court and events.

" I see now…Kiji hunter. Sound interesting." Kurogane said will a cold smile.

"Kurogane looks excited! Kyaa!" Mokona said in Mirihanna's arms. She could hear Fay whispering, "I told you so" to Syaoran. But something seemed to bother the dark man.

"But will you be okay?" Kurogane asked the boy. At first he looked confused at the question, making the ninja express himself once more.

"We don't know how powerful these Kiji things are yet. And if there are people how are paid to kill them…this means that this isn't a job for amateurs." He locked a dead serious stare at Syaoran that even disturbed the white haired girl. She frowned at the small boy, how still looked at him with determination. Kurogane roughly lifted the boy's head by pulling his brown hair, revealing his shiny right eye.

"And your right eye can't see anything." They all looked surprised. Kurogane then proceeded explaining how he found out.

"The first time I saw you fight, you used this thing called a Kudan. Kudans are controlled through mind power. Even if your eyes can't see, it wouldn't be a problem. And then the country of Koriya…" He continued, gaining full attention of the group

"…When we arrived the lord's son instantly grabbed the princess's arm. You didn't show any sign that you saw it. But precisely because you couldn't see, you reacted only to his murderous aura and made the first move to knock him down."

'Impressive.' She thought about the ninja.

"And then it's that Kiji yesterday. When it attacked from the right, your reaction was a bit slow. If the opponent is an even more powerful Kiji, it won't be just a scratch or two."

"I will try not to cause you any trouble." The boy immediately said.

"Syaoran…" She softly said feeling for him. But the boy maintained his gaze upon the tall dark man.

"Please." He said bowing deeply.

"Kuro-sama isn't that okay?" Mirihanna looked at them expecting some conclusion.

"He did ask politely." She added, defending the boy. He looked at her with anger. He was feeling annoyed with the babysit that he would have to care.

"Hmph." He said, and in his dictionary, that was a yes. Syaoran rose with his chest full with pride.

"Thank you!" Mirihanna sat up and stretched herself, content with the result.

"Now that that's all settle…what is my job?" Fay gave her a bright smile. He was anxious for her to ask.

"A caffe house?" She asked, trying to imitate the pronunciation of the word she learned.

"Yup, and we'll be working together, me you and Sakura-Chan." Fay told her while they were walking side by side in the street. She gently touched her chin, wondering exactly what they put her into.

"So…what do you do in a caffe house?"

"Well" He started, looking at her from above. " … People go to caffe houses for many reasons. They might be hungry or thirsty, or they might just want to use it as a social place to meet friends.

"So…much like a tavern."

"Well…sort of. You don't eat the same things on a caffe." She tried hard to grasp the concept but everything seemed to confusing at that moment. And the thoughts of her missing powers were still lingering in her mind.

Their walking came to a stop as Fay pointed at a beautiful small shop. He pushed the door open and waved at her like a gentleman should to enter.

"Welcome, welcome!" The shopkeeper yelled. Mirihanna made a small bow in respect of the old women. She was old and very slim but her aged face hinted great beauty in her youth.

"Good afternoon! We came here for some uniforms!" The old woman lifted a bony finger in recognition.

"What kind of job, darlings?" She joyfully asked them.

"Waitress for two girls and one boy!" She nodded and off she when into the back room.

Mirihanna almost giggled at the sound of "boy". He did sound and acted like one most of the time.

She took this chance to wander around for a bit while he leaned onto a wall. She slowly walked towards the wonderful dresses displayed. One caught her eye in particular. It was an aqua blue dress with golden details and white layers. It had a medium length layered skirt and bell-shaped sleeves with a belt accentuating the curves of the mannequin. She gently pick the dress and felt for the first time in years the touch of velvet. She couldn't resist. She released a loud sigh catching Fay's attention.

"You like that one?" He sounded amused.

"I love these colors." She said smiling, forgetting for instants the worries she had in mind. He got closer to her and analyzed the dress.

"You have excellent taste." Said he in admiration.

"I used to wear these dresses all the time. Well, not exactly like this one in particularly…ours were more loose like…" She said waving her arms, accentuating her words.

"Must have been beautiful." He wondered.

"They were… I hope my uniform's not awful." She said sincerely. Maybe a day well dressed would cheer her up for a while until she figured out what's happening.

"Don't worry Mia-Chan, you'll look wonderful with anything." He said softer than he wished for and she noticed. There was a pause for a while and then she looked at him.

"That is very nice of you to say." It was a strange moment. His comment somehow made her genially smile and feel warn inside. This was awkward to her. Mortals marked her for life, yet she found herself in company of four peculiar ones that she somehow respected and adored. Specially the younglings. And although she didn't know the full story behind each and everyone of them, she knew there was pain and suffering behind them all. Something she also knew very well. Never she thought that one day she would understand a human. Then again, she found out that they are not so different after all.

Mirihanna wasn't sure of the feeling she felt inside; in her mind there was a great barrier between Draklins and humans. A barrier that each day was getting thinner. The last time someone made her feel like this was her father and...Ryu. She quickly shook the memory away. It was too painful to remember.

"Here we are!" The old lady sang as she entered the room "Are these all right, darlings?" She showed them two dresses and an elegant men's suit. They picked up the attires and carefully looked at them.

"Perfect for me! Mia-Chan?" She glanced once more at the dress. Black with a mid skirt and some ruffles. A white peter pan collar made a nice detail on it. It was simple and elegant and good enough for her.

"Perfect." She copied. They left the store with Fay holding two paper bags full of clothes.

"Okay now we need to get our regular clothes."

"We need to purchase even more?" She asked surprised.

"Of course, unless you wish to keep wearing your dirty adventure outfit! But I guess you wouldn't fit in." She sighed, he was right.

"Let us move on then…"

"Wait. What is it?" They stopped.

"What do you mean?"

"What's wrong with you? You seem troubled. Is it about our Magic?..." Her eyes widened.

"You do not possess it in this world as well, am I correct?" He nodded.

"You restrain yourself from using your powers, yet you could immediately present its absence. Not even I could manage that." She frowned as she spoke. Fay's usual joyful expression was slowly changing to a calmer one as he looked at the troubled girl.

"I call it intuition." He lied with a small smile. Once more she noticed this and lowered her head.

'We all came here with our circumstances huh...' Now he felt bad for her. He wasn't being fair.

"Don't worry Mia-Chan. I feel this symptom is temporary. Something's not right with this world." She snapped her eyes into his.

"You speak the truth?" She softly asked him, wishing he was being honest this time. He firmly nodded. She kept looking deep into his blue eyes, searching for a hint of negative emotion but found none. He was telling the truth. She placed a hand into her chest and took a deep breath with her eyes closed. She still felt the pressure to regain her powers, yet this recent news took a huge weight around her shoulders. There she was wondering if she was to blame.

"You seem relieved!"

"I am!" She smiled. "Still I feel unsafe without it."

"Don't worry. I'll protect you." He playfully teased.

"I seriously doubt that, my friend." She teased back.
